We paid him a visit and actually did kick in his door and did some worth while communicating with the guy. She was beat up pretty good but looked nothing like he did when we were done with him. Hard to believe that was almost 20 years ago now but if it came down to it again I would communicate the same way in that situation.
As a survivor, not a victim, this song is so amazing. I was 16, pregnant and married and too darn afraid to speak out. My family was being threatened if I told and I believed him, after all, he had already killed my dog. I wish I had met a guy like this way back then.....

As a survivor of someone who’s ex husband almost killed her, this song is what I wish would have happened lol. Hell even the courts aren’t even on the side for the survivors most times since the sentences are usually so low. This song was amazing when I heard it. I immediately looked up everything Hardy had done, even features etc. that gospel choir is so great unexpected and fits even still. Lol.
@@amandalinard9835 thanks. We were only married for like 2 years but it took a long time to leave and realize the manipulation he was doing was wrong and reverse everything he did. You’d be surprised how fast and slow it starts and with just the financial, emotional, psychological manipulation and abuse happens before the physical abuse starts and you’re already feeling like less than a human so you think you deserve the violence even though you know you don’t. It’s so crazy. I’m educated, I’m smart, I’m usually independent but he wiggled his way in. It was crazy and took years of therapy. Im finally at a place years later where my ptsd and depression are under control and never gonna let it happen again

Thank you for reacting to this song. It made me like and subscribe. 👍 I was raised in a household of alcoholism and physical and psychological abuse. I had 3 older brothers hellbent on protecting me because our mother couldn't be bothered. This song is very powerful. From my take on it, it feels like he had the experience my brothers did. Perhaps he too grew up protecting a baby sister he wasn't old enough or strong enough to protect to the fullest. I think it's safe to say something pushed him over the edge on this night. He didn't strike me as a serial killer just killing for the fun of it. No way he would have gotten life in prison if I'd been sitting on the jury!

My mother was often beat by my father (I hesitate to call him that, as I really never knew him). I often wondered why nobody stepped in and helped her this way and why she never took matters into her own hands to kill him herself in self defense. She said he always apologized and promised never to do it again. Thankfully, when I was about 5-6 years old, she was able to sneak out with me and the clothes on our backs. To this day, I don't remember any of the beatings, but I have such a strong reaction to any domestic violence, that I am sure I have some repressed memories. Anyway, thank you for doing this song. Men who hit women are weak and pathetic. As far as the Jim Beam, that's my go-to bourbon to mix with Dr. Pepper. Give it a try. It's really good! I don't care for it in an old fashioned though. Lastly, does anyone ever send anything to your wives? I know that sounds weird, but hey, they put up with you. 🤣 I make apple pie "moonshine" and peach "moonshine." Hardy performed at a concert festival I went to last year. Honestly, compared to all other country music artists, his style and vocals bordered on screamo. It was very scary. (Maybe good for punk or rock fans). That said, I do like this song.

Not really HARDY started writing in 2018 . FGL encouraged him to record his own music so in 2020 he released his first album. He is a singer, song writer and as of right now out of the 10 #1 songs he has written only 1 belong to him as a singer so he doesn't keep the best ones for himself. He is just a really good artist in all forms.

The last time I was beaten up and called every name from hell. Then a gun was pressed up against my forehead while my small children sitting on the floor watching the whole thing. The husband pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. I stood there in shock, looked at my kids, and told them in a whisper to run and hide and not come out until I called them. The kids scattered. Hubby went to the bedroom I watched him unload the gun then he pushes a bullet out of the chamber. God did not allow that bullet to fire. I ran outside yelled for my kids, ran down the street to a pay phone called the police. When the police arrived, they went into the house came out, and told me, it was my word against his. My kids started to tell the police what happened, but to no avail. I called my friend "angel", and he found a safe house for me and the kids. I later filed for divorce, and the man who almost killed me many times found me and threaten me, if I filed for divorce, he would kill me cut me up, and throw me in a well never to be seen again! I did not file for divorce for a few years but every time I opened my door to go outside, I checked out the window first. One day he asked me nicely to come by and that he was ready to settle the divorce. Stupid me! I went over and it did not take but a few minutes when he attacked me thew a lamp at my head, picked up a desk phone threw that at me as I was trying to run out the door. He chased me down the steps pushed me down stomped on me until I passed out. I was slaying in gravel cut up bruised and dazed. But I got up ran to my vehicle jumped in locked the door and never looked back. Now my: angel" is my husband, who is sound asleep right next to me, and has loved me past all the cuts slugs' bruises surgeries.
Very glad you got out of that. There was a similar case in WV about ten years ago. She was able to successfully argue to the court that two hours later while the dirtbag slept on the couch, she was still in the middle of the traumatic incident when she gauged him point blank. He'd threatened the kids as well as her, and in her mind, she was protecting the kids. She was initially convicted, then the conviction was overturned on appeal. It's one of the worst I've seen, all that led up to that. Abusers like that aren't human in my eyes. Let's just say that my thoughts on them are dark. Regardless, after all that commentary, the bright side is that you got out. Very happy that you did. - Keith

The last time I was beaten up and called every name from hell. Then a gun was pressed up against my forehead while my small children sitting on the floor watching the whole thing. The husband pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. I stood there in shock, looked at my kids, and told them in a whisper to run and hide and not come out until I called them. The kids scattered. Hubby went to the bedroom I watched him unload the gun then he pushes a bullet out of the chamber. God did not allow that bullet to fire. I ran outside yelled for my kids, ran down the street to a pay phone called the police. When the police arrived, they went into the house came out, and told me, it was my word against his. My kids started to tell the police what happened, but to no avail. I called my friend "angel", and he found a safe house for me and the kids. I later filed for divorce, and the man who almost killed me many times found me and threaten me, if I filed for divorce, he would kill me cut me up, and throw me in a well never to be seen again! I did not file for divorce for a few years but every time I opened my door to go outside, I checked out the window first. One day he asked me nicely to come by and that he was ready to settle the divorce. Stupid me! I went over and it did not take but a few minutes when he attacked me thew a lamp at my head, picked up a desk phone threw that at me as I was trying to run out the door. He chased me down the steps pushed me down stomped on me until I passed out. I was slaying in gravel cut up bruised and dazed. But I got up ran to my vehicle jumped in locked the door and never looked back. Now my: angel" is my husband, who is sound asleep right next to me, and has loved me past all the cuts slugs' bruises surgeries.
Very glad you got out of that. There was a similar case in WV about ten years ago. She was able to successfully argue to the court that two hours later while the dirtbag slept on the couch, she was still in the middle of the traumatic incident when she gauged him point blank. He'd threatened the kids as well as her, and in her mind, she was protecting the kids. She was initially convicted, then the conviction was overturned on appeal.
It's one of the worst I've seen, all that led up to that. Abusers like that aren't human in my eyes. Let's just say that my thoughts on them are dark.
