This really happened to one of his friends. He served 20years. Every southern woman knows what Wait in the truck. The Judge under the seat. There's actually a gun that's called the Judge.
I think to many of you are seeing this wrong. But I could be wrong. Let me explain. There are times when some of us are already at our breaking point and we are at the I don't care stage and ready to give it all up. In my opinion god put him there because he was already at the point that someone's life was going to end. Could have been his or someone else, he had no directi9n to go with where his mind was so God said let's put him in front of evil and he was the angel God sent. If jot for my wife I know i could have easily been him
My first memory as a child was seein my father try to unalive my mom by choking her. I saw all her bruises, even in the photos the police took of her when she called the cops. But she always dropped the charges, not because she loved him, but because she felt she had nowhere to go. When he was about to start in, dhe would turn on a tape recorder she had hid, so if he unalived her, there would be some proof. He soon started to abuse me and I had my head slammed into walls many times. I would have welps on my back from being beaten with an extension cord, from the tops of my shoulders to the back of my knees. That went on until I was 17. Then one day I had enough. I put him in the ICU for 2 weeks. A friend told him to drop the charges or he'd regret it. So he did. But even if he hadnt, it was worth it knowing he'd never touch me or my mom again.
Yup, she's got his truck and she's still waiting in the truck. Waiting for him to be released. It's been 60 months and she is still coming to see him, tells me she has dedicated herself to him.
Notice how he begs for mercy from God and not the judicial system. I loved that part too, and as a DV survivor it meant so much for this song to come out.
True Story. Hardys friend did 20 years. She waited for em and got hitched had 4 kids and still got the Truck. ❤❤ Southern Justice Ya'll. The Judge it a 45 in Texas. ❤❤
I appreciate that after he shot the abuser he didn't smile or give signs of elation. Instead, he looked like he was grieving; for her suffering, his future consequences that he fully accepted, and for taking a life (maybe even a little for the abuser since both he and us don't know if he comes from a home where he learned this behavior). Also when around 6:38 you found the use of the word hell before referencing it amusing; I also want to point out that in court for the chorus he says she doesn't know if he's an angel but he was HELLbent on finding the man...and when they ask for mercy it's from God. He was always going to accept the consequences of going to jail, so they aren't asking for mercy from the court and law. He's now asking forgiveness for committing the sin of murder even if it's one for protection and love (of a stranger even). Though angels are supposed to be WARRIORS of God and would have no issue killing to protect. I love this conversation starter about the complexity of morals and beliefs around what justice is in this case. It's also finding yourself at your personal and moral line and the actions you will take to uphold that belief. Many cases of abuse aren't solved until there is a body in the ground, either the victim or abuser, because of the broken justice system. I think this song is way more powerful b/c they're strangers and he choose to lose his freedom so she can gain hers. If it was a parent saving their child, it wouldn't be seen as such a sacrifice (even though it is) due to their personal love being a powerful motivator. While for the majority of people a stranger would most likely get a person to try and work within legal limits due to personal risk by calling the police or working with shelters (both of which should be done). Some might try to help the victim more, ignore the violence, and there are some who will blame the victim for getting into/staying in the situation. Anyways, I'll stop the essay even if I could write over the character limit. An amazing, thought-provoking, lyrically and story rich song about serious topics and gorgeous vocals set to an engaging and at times symbolic video that feels like a trailer or summary to a great movie.
Thank u for saying ' being a drunk isnt a excuse for being a predator '!!! My ex who almost killed me uses the excuse i was on drugs as his excuse even tho it was premeditated! I tried getting help over and over again n the justice system kept failing me letting him right back out. Its sad that judges r almost as bad as tge abusers by not seeing truly how dangerous these people can be and sometimes it costs us our lives. Im still alive but i will never walk n i dont trust to be with another man cause of it.
I’m one of those women that can relate to this song, and just hearing people say they wouldn’t hesitate to help in some way heals me a little more every time
My baby brother was abused by a babysitter when he was 2 ... because he had an accident when she wouldn't let him get up to go the bathroom. Our older siblings and I tried to fight back. I was only 5. I bit her leg and scratched her and the other 2 were hitting her and jumping on her. Baby brother was hospitalized. The woman was arrested. Got out on bail and was invited to a party. She got beat with a belt (as she had done to our little brother). She tried to say my daddy did it, but he was in another town at a bar having drinks with the Sheriff's deputy who had notified Dad about the situation when it happened. There were 15 people willing to testify that my dad was at the bar including the deputy, the bar owner, and 13 regulars who had known my dad for years. The babysitter went to prison and nobody was ever charged with her beating.
There is a live performance of this song. Was an award show and there is a truck on stage with her in the passenger seat at the beginning. So powerful, gives you the vocals full on dynamically. I wished I had a Hardy during my 14 yrs of DV. Prayed for it in fact, never came, I had to get out of it myself with the help of God
Fun fact: he co wrote Blake Sheldons Gods Country. I would have given anything for someone like him to come along in the worst times of my life. I survived but wasnt easy. Restraining orders are only a piece of paper and dont do anything except make things worse when he gets served and finds you again.
I get very emotional when I hear this , I watched my mother go thru this for 71/2 years and I swore it would never happen again, but I was little I went thru some beatings trying to protect my mom God took out the evil person but I can and have no doubt that if I ever come across a situation that this story tell I could and would trade places so she and maybe her children would never have to suffer at the hands of an evil monster again

Most everyone knows someone who has been through this, even though they may not know it. Verbal abuse is also abuse but some women don’t want to report it until it escalates into the physical kind. There is also emotional abuse and mental abuse. I pray for all women, every day, who may be going through this or have been through it and haven’t told anyone. And if you’re a man doing the abusing and thinking you’re getting away with it…trust me, you aren’t! Being a domestic abuse survivor x 3 different men (one being a family member, which makes it just as important even though my mom begged me NOT to press charges and I didn’t, shame on me), I would encourage any woman who has been/are going through this to report it. You are stronger than you think and there are women out there, like me, who would be so happy and honored to help. It not only helps you, it could possibly help “save” the “next potential victim”, and it helps me and the women who are survivors! God bless the women who are/have been going through this! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! ❤️
This song means so much to DV survivors like me. I went to police and lawyer but law didn't protect me at time due to fact my abuser was my husband. But God came through and I got out. Hardy is from Mississippi but lives in Nashville now. This song has been nominated for 2 CMT awards and ceremony will be this Sunday night. Lainey won New Artist of Year at CMA awards and Best New Single. You may have heard a snip of her song, Heart Like A Truck, for Dodge Ram truck commercial. She also plays a part on Yellowstone. Both of their voices are awesome! I really hope they win awards for this song! Thank you for your reaction. You are obviously a Protector from how you spoke. That means SO MUCH to survivors like me. Thank you for being you. May God bless you always. ❤🎉😊
@@ArleneAdkinsZell So glad you and kids got out! Folks just don't understand how hard it is to get out. They think you just pack car and drive off. I was asked so many times why I didn't "just leave?" I had others lives to consider, other than mine, to keep them safe too as my ex threatened to hurt my elderly parents if I left and they lived 2 houses down from me! Plus, sheriff said if I left, it was by law, considered Abandonment so I'd lose home that had been in my family for over 60 years along with the land and if I took our child, even to protect him, that was viewed as kidnapping! Luckily, my ex had affair and chose her over us. So in my case, the other woman was my blessing! Bet you don't hear THAT everyday, but in my case, I'm thankful!
@@robinhatcher8021 Right?! Thank you side chick. 🙃 I got away in 1995 and I still struggle with self worth at times. People really can't understand unless they have been through something comparable, the emotional damage from years of verbal and physical abuse is massive.
@@ArleneAdkinsZell Yes it is! I was abused physically, sexually, emotionally, so I totally get you! By the way, my daughter in law asked if my ex had done certain things to me as side chick/now wife, was being done certain ways by my ex. EVERYTHING sounded exactly right! Oh but she just HAD TO HAVE HIM TO POINT OF GETTING PREGNANT while he and I still married! Good riddance!
He gave his life up so she could have a better life and not get beat no more.. that's a real man... He made Shure he wouldn't hurt her or any other woman he mite of got with...
Such a brilliantly written song. Two lines that stand out are "It ain't paradise, that's true, But it's whole hell of a lot better Than the place I sent him to..." and the one that is a really great play on words, " I never thought my day of justice, Would come from a judge under a seat, But I knew right then I'd never get hit again..." Because there is a gun that is called The Judge.
As a dv survivor it seems that the system affords perpetrators a lot of room to do more damage to their victims. You hear about people being unlived even after they do escape and receive restraining orders "a piece of paper " . The cops get frustrated every time you call them and they cant legally do anything because hes not breaking any laws standing in front of your house or your job.. It's scary and frustrating
My aunt wasnt a survivor. So I cant say anything about the cops refusing to do anything. But she was murdered by her ex in front of their 4 year old son. First time he was ever physical. And guess how many years he got. Less than 10. Wanna know why? Because he played sports in prison. Our justice system is absolutely fucked and it kills me that so many of these things could have been prevented.
💯 agree. Cops were “buddies” with my ex in a small town and I was the one arrested - same town as the Steven Avery case. Once he tried attacking me in a different city, it was an entire different outcome - they had to taze him 3 times to get him down. Cops aren’t always there to help, especially in smaller towns
I had to call the cops on my brother one time because he attacked me in front of my grandma and my 5 year old son. He’s an addict and has been very abusive to me my whole life. He said I started it and my grandma said that she wasn’t anywhere around when it started but funny he didn’t have a scratch on him and I had a shoe print on my face, a dislocated collarbone, and many cuts and bruises. The cop wanted to take him in but he had to consult his boss and they said because my brother said that I started it, he’d have to take me in too. He’s also hurt my dad really bad and he’s just a danger. But he goes unnoticed because the people that it directly affects are too scared to do anything about him. I’ve obviously cut him out of my life but he’s still a problem. It’s so sad that the justice system protects the abuser.
You are the first person that I have watched react to this that truly shows a true understanding of what it would do for those of us that have been victims of domestic violence. I am alive today because my abuser isn't...he was shot by a police officer defending himself. Thank you for knowing that it would have an impact for us, even though you have not been through it yourself. I hope this makes sense to you, God bless ❤
To most people this is a great song and video. But for some of us, this was our reality. Don't ask us why we stayed... for me it was because I truely Loved the man before he turned into a monster. And then it was because he told me every day he would kill me is I ever tried to leave him because he'd rather see me dead than with someone else. Fear was why I stayed as long as I did. But when I woke up in a hospital with a broken jaw and a chest full of broken ribs, I finally realized that if I stayed he would eventually kill me anyway. So I ran... for years I was running away, with him right behind me. Eventually I got a call from my sister telling me he was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder. It only took the jury 11 minutes to come back with a guilty verdict. Turned out that was the 3rd person he murdered. They just hadn't found the other bodies yet. But they did, and he earned 2 more 1st degee murder charges and convictions. That all happened many many years ago. And even though I know he will never get out of priso'n, sometimes I still have nightmares of him getting out and killing me. For me this song and video are part of my reality and memories, and why I am who I am now. I'm not that scared little girl anymore. I'm prepared. I always sit in the back of a room but never with my back to the door. At night I always park my car under or near a street light. And I am always armed.
I've been in three adult abusive relationships and I will never endure that again. I'm currently living with my mother and I have a new man that will never put his hands on me. He knows that he will go to jail or I will go to prison. Lady's and men don't let your person abuse you. If I can do it you can. Much love and blessings from Arkansas and myself.
I unfortunately experienced a worse form of DV, back when I was in the 18 months to 2 yrs old period of my life. Where I was witness to my mother getting physically abused multiple times by a former step father she was married to at the time. It tormented me in my nightmares for many years, went through around 20 years of therapy before I could get over it and stop the nightmares. The reason why it took me so long to move past it, is because the same S.O.B would constantly show up at my grandparents house (they had full legal guardianship over me since I turned 2.) and would just ruin every birthday I had until I was 12 yrs old. Can't remember the amount of times my grandpa would fight the bastard and end up walking inside with either a bloody lip, broken nose, or black eye. Thankfully, i'm past it all now though.
I don’t think you ever really get over it but thank the Lord He made you so strong! And thank the Lord for your grandparents!! God bless y’all and y’all are in my prayers!! 🙏❤️
I absolutely love this song! As a child of DV it hits so hard. Thank you for being so respectful, I've watched too many men react to this and be so disrespectful. But I schooled them, whether they wanted it or not😉 yep that's his truck. Thanks! New sub.
If I was his lawyer I'd have done everything in my power to get him off as it was a justified homicide. Because the justice system cares more about the criminals than they do about the victims of domestic abuse. I know someone who had her abuser arrested he was out two days later posted his bail and he killed her that same week.
Thank you Sir! I have been waiting for this reaction, this is a song that the world needs to hear!!! Such a well-written song, well performed, Hardy and Lainey are amazing they really sent the message of the song! It's so sad that a lot of people suffers through this, but I hope they'd find someone who'd save them too!
Great reaction! He was an Angel... even though Angels don’t do that! “Lord have mercy on him” ❤ Don’t condone, but I sure do understand and hugely respect! Phew.... amazing story and singers.
Good reaction dude, Hardy wrote 11 number one hits before he released this album.. Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, and others he wrote for…. Che out “mockingbird and the crow” by hardy!!!
The line "Judge under a seat" refers to a Taurus Judge pistol, it can shoot 45 shells as well as a 410 shell. Clever writing, line fits even if you dint knkw the gun is called Judge
I too am a survivor so I can totally relate to the emotions this one elicits. However, the man was within his right to try to defend himself against an armed intruder. I became a police officer years after my escape and have seen lives ruined because some women lie. So I have seen both sides and both are tragic.
Hardy is amazing. Country and hard rock. Every song on his newest album, The Mockingbird and The Crow, will blow your mind. And I wouldn't call myself a country fan.
You don't own a gun? Times are really changing and we will be needing to defend our rights not only as Americans but as Christians. It is all prophesied! By the way, I am one of these women. Molested, raped, physically abused, abandoned and more. I chose to be a survivor and not a victim and after 39 years, God brought me my "angel". We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year.
Hardy has written so so many songs for other artists (ex. Gods Country.. Blake Shelton) BUT he is has AWSOME songs to listen too.. I love "Sober you" music video & "Give heaven some hell" music video .. please check em out ❤
Fun Fact: At the end after she leaves the prison, She leaves in his truck, so she's still waiting in the truck!...You should check out "the mockingbird and The Crow" Or "A Rock" A Rock he won the 2020 songwriter of the year on the CMA awards!... Awesome songs both!... Great react Dude... I saw you tearing up... I do too every time I hear it!
I have been through it, I survived it, but had I not gotten away from him he would have killed me. Unfortunately for me I didn't have an avenging angel, I wish I had.
It is my first time visiting your channel. Loved your reaction. I unfortunately am a predator magnet. I finally stopped the madness in my life in 2017 and will never be a victim again. Thank you for a wonderful reaction and your thoughts. The story and the sing are very powerful. Love from Texas ❤️🤍💙
Hello. Greetings from Rio. May I suggest a reaction to Natirutis " quero ser feliz" ...acustico no Rio de Janeiro......" I want to be happy". The attorney can now get him out. Five years is too long. 😮 Justice has not been served by imprisoning him. They will be able to share the 😢 future ......both free at the same time. ❤
Im a 66 year woman , my mom and dad fought like bull dogs. Both swing hitting each. I married at 15, and he was abusive But being Around my parents fighting I thought it was the thing that went with people. I didn’t know it could be different. Then after 34 years of marriage he took his on life. I had to sell everything. I had only worked on a farm cutting hay, pulling calves so I didn’t have much of a résumé for a 49 year old. So I went to truck driving school, and I was driving a semi. So some women don’t know that they have a choice. 😊

not according to Hardy. there is an interview with him about this song
She was in a prison of abuse and he was free. He traded places with her ❤😢
That was deep. Never thought of like that.
Good for him, he gave up ALL his potential for a stranger who made a really STUPID choice.
this song is about a Man trading his Freedom for a Strangers Life. Few would be willing to make that sacrifice.

Wait in the truck is awesome, now react to Hardy sing give heaven some hell
Such a brilliantly written song. Two lines that stand out are "It ain't paradise, that's true, But it's whole hell of a lot better Than the place I sent him to..." and the one that is a really great play on words, " I never thought my day of justice, Would come from a judge under a seat, But I knew right then I'd never get hit again..." Because there is a gun that is called The Judge.
I know so many women who have survived abusive partners that this song makes me fist pump and yell "yessss". Thanks for playing it and your reactions.
I believe you. thank you for standing up for the real men in America. have a blessed day.
@@Anna_M96 yup and even when they do go to jail or prison it's our tax dollars that pay to keep them housed and fed.
@ ALDC Crazy, I am so sorry to hear about your aunt and for your cousin. You and your family are in my prayers. 🙏❤️
Being a survivor this song makes me cry 😭
HARDY is awesome... please do more HARDY
YES! More Hardy!
That "thank you" was so damn powerful
You are the first person that I have watched react to this that truly shows a true understanding of what it would do for those of us that have been victims of domestic violence. I am alive today because my abuser isn't...he was shot by a police officer defending himself. Thank you for knowing that it would have an impact for us, even though you have not been through it yourself. I hope this makes sense to you, God bless ❤
She is still waiting in the truck. Lainey Wilson was in the last season of Yellowstone as one of the singers at the ranch
One main thing I took away from this.
Is that our(not all) law enforcement people and Justice system has failed horribly!
Wonderful reaction. I'm a survivor of domestic abuse, the system fails us, sometimes our only recourse is more violence. So sad.
I'm so glad you were able to get away. God bless you
I've been in three adult abusive relationships and I will never endure that again. I'm currently living with my mother and I have a new man that will never put his hands on me. He knows that he will go to jail or I will go to prison. Lady's and men don't let your person abuse you. If I can do it you can. Much love and blessings from Arkansas and myself.
This song gives me chills every time! Great reaction!
If you watch Yellowstone she is the singer that was in the bar & she sang at the ranch, she was also involved with one of the ranch hands.
I absolutely love this song! As a child of DV it hits so hard. Thank you for being so respectful, I've watched too many men react to this and be so disrespectful. But I schooled them, whether they wanted it or not😉 yep that's his truck. Thanks! New sub.
Anything Hardy is fabulous.
Years later, kids now know, I tried to saved them from their abusive father.
“Lord have mercy on him” ❤
Don’t condone, but I sure do understand and hugely respect! Phew.... amazing story and singers.
Powerful message. Great vocals.
Lainey sounds like a young Dolly Parton!!!❤
Check out Hardy song " The Mockingbird and the Crow " its a mix of Country and Rock
No it does not. Some fool always brings that nonsense.
I do believe the nickname for a .44 magnum is “judge”
Your reaction was Heart Felt , Thank You From a Survivor .
A true reaction to a all to often situation. DVS wait for the angel all time
Hardy also a great songwriter. He wrote Blake Shelton song God's Country
I too am a survivor so I can totally relate to the emotions this one elicits. However, the man was within his right to try to defend himself against an armed intruder. I became a police officer years after my escape and have seen lives ruined because some women lie. So I have seen both sides and both are tragic.
Once upon a time many years ago I to went through something like this but was able to get out. Good reaction Dennis!
Thank God you got out!
Loved your reaction, thank you for your message about dv, you're a gem!
Love this one. Saw it when they did it at the awards show (Don't remember which one).
CMA Awards 2022
do hardy give heaven some hell
Yes
Hardy is amazing. Country and hard rock. Every song on his newest album, The Mockingbird and The Crow, will blow your mind. And I wouldn't call myself a country fan.
You don't own a gun? Times are really changing and we will be needing to defend our rights not only as Americans but as Christians. It is all prophesied! By the way, I am one of these women. Molested, raped, physically abused, abandoned and more. I chose to be a survivor and not a victim and after 39 years, God brought me my "angel". We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year.
Please do Give Heaven some Hell!!! Another Banger from Hardy. And for Lainey Wilson Heart like a truck, or a few things a man ought to know.
More Hardy!!!
Hardy has written so so many songs for other artists (ex. Gods Country.. Blake Shelton) BUT he is has AWSOME songs to listen too.. I love "Sober you" music video & "Give heaven some hell" music video .. please check em out ❤
Welcome to the South
Fun Fact: At the end after she leaves the prison, She leaves in his truck, so she's still waiting in the truck!...You should check out "the mockingbird and The Crow" Or "A Rock" A Rock he won the 2020 songwriter of the year on the CMA awards!... Awesome songs both!... Great react Dude... I saw you tearing up... I do too every time I hear it!
Facts man
New subscriber here, I love the way you reacted, and your facial expressions killed me!
Hardy music I like it
He waited at the truck.
Don't know if you noticed but she drives off in his truck
Yeah I mentioned it. That she was in his truck
Lainy Wilson is the hottest female country singer right now. Heart Like a Truck is good also and she also plays Abby on Yellowstone.
A Judge is a 45 revolver snub nose handgun.
one of the problems with calling cops on someone like that is they only get their fingers slapped and when they get out they kill the woman
I agree @thekingfamilyreacts 😢 definitely if anyone been through this, get help. And thanks for the reaction :) this is shared also
I can tell right off your bout as blue state as they come folks round my end of the hollar ain’t shocked… good reaction tho very enjoyable
Don't know you, but im very proud of you. You're a good man.
I have been through it, I survived it, but had I not gotten away from him he would have killed me. Unfortunately for me I didn't have an avenging angel, I wish I had.
At the end, she's still waiting in the truck... for his release.
He gave up his freedom so she could have hers
Hello. Greetings from Rio. May I suggest a reaction to Natirutis " quero ser feliz" ...acustico no Rio de Janeiro......" I want to be happy". They are a brazilian simple but very interest musicians with a brazilian/reageash group ....you will get an extra ...the most beautiful blend with one of Rio's best view.
My favorite part of the video is when her feet were walking out of the prison and his feet were shackled walking to his cell😭😄😭😄
if a dude tells, you wait in truck .. he's about to mess somebodies ass
up
Thanks Dennis! This happens so often! Although I have seen women abuse men also. I just love how you said you just don't do this to each other. Xoxo
You’ve heard her on Yellowstone
The attorney can now get him out. Five years is too long. 😮 Justice has not been served by imprisoning him. They will be able to share the 😢 future ......both free at the same time. ❤
Im a 66 year woman , my mom and dad fought like bull dogs. Both swing hitting each. I married at 15, and he was abusive But being
Around my parents fighting I thought it was the thing that went with people.
I've been in her shoes 😢
Great reaction!
