- This is the recording of the November 17 special Town Hall with founders Aggroed and Yabapmatt regarding the recent news about company layoffs. They provide insight and answer community questions to help shed light on what exactly happened, and what the future holds.
They got too cocky and overhired/overexpanded. I've never thought of Aggy as a competent CEO, but what he does exceptionally well is bait Mavs into FOMO. A professional used car salesman. He sells hype without substance.
Although there is no tech support provided by splinterlands team, I think we should have tech support channel in discord.
But it is all volunteer work by the community, it helps to solve the easier problems.
Thanks for doing this townhall. It's never easy to be let go or to have to do the letting go. Best wishes for the future to all that got let go and to the team at Splinterlands.
Why not people continue to work as volunteers. Till about a year ago, it was volunteering. Like giving back to splinterlands. Then all of a sudden there was an inflow of paid employees. It is understandable that people who do not contribute much for the development of a company will be laid off. Also, it is a wise decision to first work on the present projects rather than keep rolling out pre sales stuff.
You right Sayee, first started as volunteer support, i dont mind if i can work with out being pay but I guess they dont need volunteer support anymore.
Aggy continues to say the only problem is not being in a bull market. The success of this can't be based on whether of not there's a bear market that lasts two years. A two year bear market isn't out of the ordinary at any point in history. Bull markets are crazy and irrational most of the time. This company is being run on the idea that people will be crazy and irrational and just buy up everything no matter how much glut there is. This isn't good.
Also NO ONE WANTS REBELLION TO COME. That guy who keeps saying that is friggin annoying
Amen. Enough with inflating our assets. It's becoming like printing fiat by the FED.
Rebellion is a direct cash infusion for splinterlands as a company. Your assets will be worthless if splinterlands ceases to exist.
@@smokelord2002 They have made plenty of money. If they can;t exist anymore it's because they overhired and lost their focus and pissed all their players off. I can't even keep my guild full anymore because everyone's loosing so much money lately they keep quitting.

I got into splinterlands watching some of BullDogs Splinterlands videos from ages ago which are still valuable to get new players interested on this game...you guys should include him on your team. At least offer less hours maybe he'll accept :)

Will there be a lux lore video? You can still hire voice actors and artists and stuff for ui 2.0 n other projects . Better days are a few moves away. Timing is key. Hope the best for everyone.
Why not take 2% of any reward claim on GLX and pump it into the DAO to generate a little revenue
