That was just a happy coincidence. Check midnight edge’s videos about a book work in regards to how and why marvel and Star Wars went woke. In summary, Kevin feige consolidated his power by firing Ike perlmutter, who was responsible for holding all of Mandela movies to a particular standard. His very simple formula was why marvel was so successful, and up until phase 4, Kevin feige wasn’t the genius behind marvel. That was mostly perlmutter. The video heading this down is very good and thorough. But you’re not wrong, in the sense that Larson came along right when feige fired the old guard and implemented the woke changes

Ya clear difference between people that actually care about the characters and the medium and those activists that could not care less and just want to insert their own politics down the throat of consumers, even weaseling themselves into different films and series through cameo appearances when their own franchises failed and clearly there is no demand for their interpretations of the character, because that is what it is...an interpretation, and not a good one from people that aren't even comic book fans. From what little I've seen of Brie interacting with her cast she also seems difficult to get along and work with. I don't see any chemistry between her co stars in general as far as marvel is concerned anyways. It kinda weird. We need more passionate people taking on these roles like Ryan renalds and Henry Cavill...being that actually care and just want to create good entertainment for the fans. If hollywood would allow them full creative expression, I have no doubt they would be making their companies bank, but people in the business not too smart, and care more about the message than entertainment...in an entertainment industry.

Men are attracted to alpha and cool sigma males that can do stuff and not just some random betas playing macho but getting their ass being kicked by some lady . In height ladies want tall guys at least taller than them but they want to be equally strong with that tall guy 😂 . They are so inconsistent . This is why Captain Marvel has failed and Deadpool has succeeded. Ryan Reynolds makes movies for the people who are the most interested in seeing superhero movies. He cares about making movies they will pay to see, and seems to care about what matters to his target audience.
Brie Larson does not make movies for the people who will pay to see superhero movies. She is quite vocal in her distain for her target audience, and is interested in making movies for people who largely do not watch superhero movies.
It's one thing to want to be "included" but if you're demanding to be included in a space you're not really interested in being in, it does beg the question of why you're there...

I used to consider myself both a feminist and a Liberal but those labels are now as repugnant to me as MAGA. There is a huge difference between striving for equality and trying to socially engineer the world based on skin color, biological sex etc. Equity is ruining successful businesses (especially the entertainment industry) because it prioritizes marking off boxes on a checklist instead of organic improvements. In the case of the entertainment industry, Equity has ensured that most movies are now focused on hiring a specific ratio of different ethnicities instead of creating well-crafted stories. Most people don't feel inspired by DEI-crafted characters because they recognize pandering when they see it. Sigourney Weaver's Ripley is a true feminist icon specifically because her badassery isn't based on her sex. Ripley *earns* the admiration of the audience based on her words and actions...not because she happens to have girly bits. Brie Larson's ego is writing checks her (lack of) talent can't cash. I can't decide if she's a terrible actress or just completely devoid of charisma. Captain Marvel is a perfect example of DEI hiring...completely uninspiring actress and character. I don't understand why anyone thinks it's a good idea to gender-swap existing characters. I love RDJ's Iron Man...I don't need or want a female version. Are writers so devoid of imagination that they can't create unique female superheroes?

    • @robotnoir5299
      @robotnoir5299 22 дні тому +3

That all makes perfect sense, except the bit against MAGA. Shouldn't every country strive to be great, and focus on meritocracy instead of ticking check-boxes? Ripley focused on keeping her ship and crew as great as possible. She understood the importance of quarantine, and border-control... and the entire crisis of the movie is caused when other people defy Ripley's cautious xenophobia. Lambert even tries to argue Cain should be let back on board for humanitarian reasons... and slaps Ripley in the face and implies she's heartless and "repugnant" for trying to maintain the safe border.
If Ripley had been trained in DEI, she would have imported 7 face-huggers onto the Nostromo, to ensure equitable numbers from each species... even before she vetted them to determine if they were friendly or not.
(It's also worth noting that understandably by the 2nd movie, Ripley has become a bit racist against androids. Although clearly, Ripley judges people on an individual basis, and not based on group-identity, so she is able to overcome her bias and befriend Bishop as time passes.)

I think with Brie Larson, a lack of charisma and being a bad actor go hand in hand. I don't automatically hate a gender swap, such as Dr Kynes in the recent Dune movies, because the characters gender never mattered and she captured the essence of the character from the book (IMHO). But it is like these studios think we are too dumb to realize when it is done just for the sake of "diversity" and don't care if it misses all the reasons the character is interesting in the first place.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to have female superhero movies. If women want a super powerful heroine character/comic/movies, then nobody is stopping them from making them. There are plenty of female superheros to pick from to make their own movies/stories from. Stop riding the success of male superheros and try to get in on the success. Look what happened to She-Hulk? If women want female superheroines to write a film about, there are plenty: Gamora, Rogue, Storm, Jean Grey, Wonder Woman, The Wasp, Mary Jane Watson, Madame Web, Invisible Woman, Supergirl, Black Widow, Catwoman, Mystique, Hela, Nebula, Okoye, etc. Even if they are seen as villians, sometimes a backstory could tell a different story of heroism. The actor stopped by AOL Build with his “Hostiles” co-star Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi on December 18 and told the crowd that the reason he moved to the U.S. in the first place was because he wanted his kids to grow up in a “country of inclusion.” Unfortunately, that ideal hasn’t been too much of a reality.

    1. thelma and louise is now charley and tony....charlie a (WM )is AB by his girlfriend (latino)and tony(BM)saves him and they go on the run
    2. Pretty woman is now handsome Jose.....Jose a down and out(latino)man runs across a narcissistic woman(WW)who changes his life and takes care of him
    3. How stella got her groove back is now how jason got his groove back, jason a (blk)man has been mistreated and used by women(WW) so goes to Switzerland to try and find himself and love again, and finds a 22 yr old woman that wants to make him believe in women and love again
Lets see if these movies are celebrated and pushed as true representation and inclusion

There ARE female Green Lanterns. You don't have to gender swap existing female characters. People don't like woke movies. Everyone wants to be entertained. People DO NOT want political ideology shoved down their throat. We pay to see movies. We are tired of political ideology. Just because Bree likes woke and hates men doesn't mean that she should shove her political beliefs down our throat. We are tired of activists making our entertainment because it is NOT entertaining us. Turning women characters into Girl Boss, know it alls, emasculated men,and low quality movies full of political preaching is the reason you're failing. Then you cry sexist instead of realizing it's your fault for not listening to us fans. Keep political ideology out of movies and TV. We are sick of it. Get rid of the activists and listen to the fans. Ryan Reynolds made a successful movie because he refused to go woke with Deadpool and Wolverine. Time to get rid of the woke agenda and do things right.

According to these numbers, it appears that analysts are stating that Wonder Woman 1984 would need to gross over $500 million in order to make its money back. With a production budget of $200 million, this likely points to the film having a colossal marketing budget of over $300 million. This number is much higher than the typical marketing budget for a production, which often amounts to double the initial production budget of a film.

The actress - who had almost given up on her film career when she landed Hollywood's most badass female role - believes anyone who is not a feminist is by default sexist.
"People always ask me, 'Are you a feminist?'" Gadot tells Rolling Stone, in a new interview out this month.
"And I find the question surprising, because I think, 'Yes, of course. Every woman, every man, everyone should be a feminist. Because whoever is not a feminist is a sexist.'"

Interesting topic. But I had to check several times whether the film had not rewound because of the number of repetitions of the same thoughts. This film could have easily lasted 10 minutes and would not have lost any of its message value.

i hate Brie Larson MORE than the next guy... but honestly, these "insiders" things are usuly bullshit and used only to generate extra hate... like, i wont give Brie Larson more hate than what she diserves, so, because of that, i will not acuse her of something that has no evidence.
honestly, i just wish she came out and made a public apology, i would be willing to forgive her if she just said "the thing i said about white guys, yeah it was pretty stupid, sorry guys... your opinions do matter" if she only said tha,t i would be willing to forgive her.. even if her acting is mid...

Christian Bale has had enough of “white guys” running everything in Hollywood and beyond.

I'm a little lost. Green Lantern is akin to the Army or the Marines. There are female Green Lanterns that you can use to make stories out of. Nobody needs to be gender swapped. Just take a female Green Lantern character. In fact with the exception of the orange lantern all of the other Lanterns have male and female counterparts. No Ginger swapping necessary.
And even if we're not talking about the lanterns there are plenty of DC and Marvel female superheroes and supervillains out there that are pretty cool.
Spoiler, Lady Shiva, the Amazons when done properly, Zatanna, Starfire, Raven, Miss Martian, Black Canary when done properly or you can create a new character. That's exactly how Harley Quinn was made. She didn't exist until the Batman the Animated Series cartoon. Now she's a fan favorite. Funny how that goes.
Never really been a big huge fan of gender swapping unless the actor or actress does a better job in the role than their opposite sex counterpart. Beyond that it's really unnecessary and even including that it's unnecessary. I've seen Broadway plays where females played male roles and vice versa.
Any who that's just one guy's opinion.
