A poetic bookend for an evil legacy. They did some very admirable work in pushing art to its limits but the subtext has always been very specifically demonic.
The part that annoys me the most about “evidently so” is that it’s a fairy tale which are timeless and there’s nothing in there that says anything about the state of the world in 1937. It’s a cartoon with elves and a witch,what the hell is she talking about?
Rachel Zedgler mocks the 1937 Snow White because it seems to be a love story and she seems to be allergic to love stories, it is only all about "power" to her! Foolish girl!
It was disgusting to see her ordering the Dwarves around. Snow White cleaned and cooked for them because she was grateful to them. She wanted to pay them back, something she doesn't know anything about IMO.
Not just that, but calling the prince a stalker? With how young she is, I kinda wonder if someone didn't just tell her that the og snow white was a "bad" story
The idea, I suppose, was that they clean the house together, which isn't bad in itself. You can hear the word "together" in lyrics many times. But the tone she's says some phrases in combined with her media attitude makes it look like ordering around, besides, the script doesn't take in account a very legit reason the house was in chaos: dwarves came home extremely late. They're miners, they don't have energy or time to clean after a hard work day. That's why their home isn't organized, not because they're lazy and stupid. And snow White helps them.

That released scene of 'whistle why you work’ was terrible. She more resembles the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, than she does Snow White. Her behavior on screen comes off as a diva being passive aggressive, almost as if she’s the villain.
I think I just found a small hill to die on... that I'd rather go back to watch Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman than even attempt to watch this butchered crap. At least her emotion, or relative lack of, was more on point.
Zegler makes Snow White sound like a power hungry witch, every inch as evil as her step mother. But the Snow White movie had other issues. You know. Using CGI for the dwarves instead of hiring actual dwarves and treating the characters with a little bit of dignity?
Exactly they cast Zegler as snow white and Gal Gadot as the evil queen but from everything I've seen Rachel Zegler is much more the villain and Gadot is said to be so sweet and kind. They should've switched those two. The dwarves being cut is also so frustrating because there are so few movies and shows that will cast little people already. There could've been 7 high profile roles in a big budget film to give lesser known little people actors a great chance to launch into other roles (if the movie would have ever done well). But instead it's weird looking CGI.... This entire movie is a trainwreck and should be just left alone never to be released.
Actually switching roles would have.been a cool movie, sort of like when Shrek appeared and turned things around and blew people away....I would watch a Disney where SW was twisted and the Queen was the victim. 😅
I agree heavily with the cgi dwarves like... what they blew their budget so badly on this trainwreck they couldn't hire real people even if they just wore body suits, instead it looks like they tried to make the cartoon more real with a graphics update. But Zegler pushing the woke thing, she would have never treated 7 fellow male actors with dignity, in fact I think it would have been ten times worse with the superiority brow beating

The entire plot of this story is supposed to be that the evil queen was jealous that Snow White was more beautiful than her. Can I ask how we're supposed to believe that when Gal Gadot is playing the part of the evil queen and Snow White is played by Ziegler? But if that magic mirror thinks Ziegler is more beautiful than Gal then that thing must be broken. 😂
Which is why they would've been perfect for each other's roles, and if it's only about their height, if they can add dwarfs, they could alter their height.

Someone once pointed out that the mirror is a predatory entity, preying on the Queen's vanity. The point isn't whether Snow White is objectively more beautiful. The point is that the mirror has weaponized the queen's insecurity against a member of the royal family. That's way more interesting, imo. After all, beauty is partially subjective.

But they can also see that the queen has absolutely no reason to be jealous of Snow White, since she is far more beautiful. So what’s the reason the magic mirror lies? That’s how good storytelling works.
All these sites give Disney far too much credit for creating Snow White the story. They didn't, it was just an adaption of a traditional European fairytale, written by the Brothers Grimm, Walt Disney had nothing to with it's creation. He just made his first animated movie based on the story. And all are forgetting Walt had a penchant for young boys.
They tried, it was called Wish. It was so meh that hardly anyone saw it. they only had two good stories in the last year. Inside Out 2, which has a couple caveats of being Pixar for IO2 and being the one film they needed to succeed so they kept the woke crap to a minimum, (it was there but low key.) And Deadpool & Wolverine, which was basically Ryan Reynalds saying "You bitches want to make money right? I'll make the money, and get Hugh Jackman on board."

It's different from _Snow White and the Huntsmen,_ _Mirror, Mirror,_ and even the 1937 Disney film _Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs._ The huntsman has a brief appearance in the original fairy tale when the Queen asks him to kill Sneewittchen and bring back her lungs and liver. He cannot bring himself to do so and substitutes the organs of a boar instead. He plays no further role in the story. The film adaptation that comes closest to the original fairy tale IMO is the 1955 German film _Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge_ (you can see a dubbed version of this film on UA-cam). But even this version has the appearance of the prince prior to Sneewittchen's escape. The original fairy tale has no romantic backstory between Sneewittchen and the prince; the first time the prince sees her is when she is in her crystal coffin. This is iconic in fairy tales; a prince shows up as a deus ex machina, a way to resolve the heroine's troubles and reward her.
They should've had a CGI Snow White while they were at it, or just had them the 2 leads swap roles and alter their heights with CGI their height is the only thing they have in common with their own character.

Just a fun fact. People in Russia believe that if you whistle inside the house your money will “disappear”. It is funny seeing this part of the Disney movie where characters whistles in their house and clean up, knowing this movie is a money hole. 🕳️
I had a ghost in my home for about a year that would take 100 dollar bills and return them the next day. It played lots of jokes on me like detuning my guitar and knocking on the door when I was showering. Not sure why. There was one in the home I grew up in and this one showed up 25 years later.

Very sad that some people want to assume that romance is not synonymous with feminism. The original feminism was not anti-male. It was for equality not power. Disney should never have given Zegler creative control. She is an actress who can sing.

Although she isn't bad looking by any stretch of the imagination, Zegler is far from what I would consider to be a classic beauty. IMHO, she's a prime example of the fact that most women of her age who are in relatively good health tend to be attractive in their late teens and very early 20's. That said, I strongly suspect that Rachel won't be gracing the covers of fashion magazines a decade from now, when she will still be a relatively young woman. She just doesn't have that "It" factor. The Woke Left has a habit of latching onto people they want to promote as movie stars, regardless of the fact that they have few if any fans. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Brie Larson are examples of this phenomenon.
I’m actually pretty excited about the Stevie Wonder biopic that Disney is working on. They’re modernizing it a LITTLE by casting a white girl to play Stevie. She’s not blind, but she IS deaf… Oh and she doesn’t play piano, in Disney’s interpretation she’s a basketball player, but everything else is apparently told EXACTLY like it happened, from Stevie’s humble beginnings to stardom. Sounds exciting, definitely gonna sweep the Oscars.

Like anyone can say they just need a job, usually when people get in to acting they love it because it allows them to someone else. Not only that within the context of the Original original story, and something that I think is meant to be implied in Disney's original classic, "Prince Charming" was betrothed to Snow White from the time she was born, which was commonplace for kingdoms to do back then. So, if we assume in the Disney classic, that at the beginning of the film, that this was the first time they met this would have been the very beginning of the Prince's open courtship of Snow White. Now knowing all of that if you had heard someone who you were engaged to potentially had died, wouldn't that merit a look at the very least? Then the Prince kisses her, this isn't meant as cringe, this is meant as "I'm sad that this girl who I had a legitimate connection with has died and I am saying goodbye in the best way I know how" moment. Seriously if the rumours are to be believed I am glad she is being cancelled, she made her "side of the story" quite clear, but that would NOT be enough to make me watch the shit because it is a completely different movie to the classic, it just shares the same name. They would have to reshoot the whole thing, and not only recast someone who is apt to play Snow White, but also hire a bunch of little people to play the dwarfs, there are heaps of little people in the entertainment industry who would have loved a shot at one of those roles.

Heck, Amanda Bynes was in a movie called Sydney White in the 2000s which modernized / loosely translated Snow White into a story set on a college campus where she's some sorority girl that gets kicked out by the *****y popular girls in charge of the sorority and she ends up moving into some Revenge of the Nerds inspired rundown off campus dorm with "the seven dorks". Her "prince" is some rich frat bro she meets at a frat party and gets a crush on whose last name (if I recall the movie correctly) actually is "Prince". It wasn't really all that long ago, but... man... the good ol' days when people in Hollywood still had enough creativity left in them to do something like that, eh?
I don't know why Zegler keeps getting cast in all these films. Every time they give her the lead role, the movie tanks. I hate to sound crude, but is she embracing the casting couch, or has she done it in the past and is now blackmailing Hollywood exects? What's her real story?

1812 the brothers Grimm published one of the most lovely fairy tales in Germany. 💁🏻 "Schneewittchen" It had everything to teach kid's a funny lesson. It has Poison, Blood Sacrifice, Murder, crippled children ( the historical accurate dwarf's). It was lovely before Disney needed to made a new interpretation with this singing Dr. Doolittle. 🤷 But this new thing... Why don't they just create new original film's in the first place and let our classics stay just as they where created? 🤷

OUAT showed us a Snow White that was strong independent and sometimes she needed saving. It was a modern take on the story. But by no means did they change the love story of the Prince and Snow White. Them Saving and needed each other made it BETTER

Disney has come full circle… Snow White was the first film from Disney.. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t take this live action more seriously and give it the justice to stand up against the original. They are so focused on diversity and inclusivity and all this modern bullshit that they didn’t take the time to make this film as good as it could be. Disney has ruined all the classics they’ve made into live action. Growing up in the 90s, this is extremely disappointing.
Plus this version of ariel is from the Caribbean so dark skin makes more sense. It also wasnt written in ariels description that she has skin white as snow… snow white does
I disagree. Ariel was designed, approved and copyright protected as she was in the original animated film. It wasn't just the story but a visually recognizable character meant for fans to love and recognize.
I had this playing in the background, was this video just repeating itself for 30 mins? I heard something about modern edge to the tale but what is the time period this is set in? If I were to remake Snow White I admit I would take some inspiration from how Once Upon a Time did it with Ginnifer. Snow and her prince met and already cared about each other before the kiss scene so it wasn't "the prince is kissing a corpse found in the woods". Also how I would write it would be: - Young Snow and her step-mother don't get along, explore the reason for that a bit. In OUaT, Snow believed she inadvertently caused her mother's death and the step-mother was forced to marry the king instead of her own love. Therefore exploring the relationship dynamic between Snow and her step-mother could be useful to the plot. Especially if one considers that the past had high maternal mortality and thus men remarrying to give their children an new mother-figure to be raised by would be more common than now. - Due to the tense relationship between Snow and Step-mother, Snow tries to stay close to her father and looks up to him as her only family. The king despite being renowned as the Good King is too busy for Snow as much as the child would need so Snow seeks out other friendly & familiar castle staff in between princess lessons. Thus Snow learns a bit about cooking and cleaning despite a princess would have no need to know such a thing. - One day while the Good King is meeting with another king Snow finds the other king's son but he's sickly. Snow and the staff help the prince get healthy using what they know from the staff's experience and Snow's books. The prince becomes interested in learning how to heal people and Snow learns that knowledge can be gained from multiple sources. - As Snow ages, she tries to learn more by pushing at the boundaries of her castle grounds and befriending anyone she comes across to learn about their experiences. - Eventually issues with her step-mother, now known as the Evil Queen, become too great and the Good King had recently died so Snow is distraught and has no problem with fleeing from the Queen. - If I recall correctly (from some iteration of the story) the Huntsman spared Snow's life because she was known to be kind. Especially in the time period, women's strength was expressed through emotional fortitude during hardships such as with Cinderella's story. Their stories ending with them married was how the writers signaled that their futures where going to be better because marrying a person one loved was the best outcome a woman could have for that time. If this movie wants to update that part so that it's not a romantic love story it could still be a platonic love story and leave the romance question as not necessary to be answered. - Before the ending though, we have a recently orphaned and technically homeless Snow out in the wider world for the first time without supervision. The people might try to help but can only provide a little because they themselves are somewhat lacking in resources and there's uncertainty for the future with the Evil Queen as the new ruler. - Eventually Snow finds her way to a cottage (perhaps the Huntsman suggested it as a place he's seen but doesn't know if it's occupied). Snow recognizes that it is but that it's dirty and she knows hygiene is important to health. If I recall correctly, Snow White cleaned the dwarf cottage as a way of earning her stay, or at least that's how I understood it. - Snow helps the dwarfs keep their home clean from their coal mining, starts learning more about medicine or something from Doc, cooking (and allergies) from Sneezy or Sleepy, Happy and Dopey helps her overcome her grief and remember how to be positive, Grumpy allows her to express her rage and upset in a healthy way. I don't know who I'm missing but overall the dwarfs and Snow become a family. (There's your modern woke edge, the "found family" trope.) - While the dwarfs are in the mines, Snow is in the village and trying to help in anyway she can and applying what she learned through her life thus far. This is how she starts gaining the experience and trust to become a leader for her kingdom even though she's not on the throne. She even visits the mines and came up with the canary idea for early warning of danger (though hopefully the canaries don't stay long enough to die just get distressed enough for the miners to know something is wrong and leave.) Snow also suggests masks when the coal dust is disturbed too much but ironically ends up inhaling some each visit because she wasn't masked. (I add this because I think I was told that given the time and place of the original Snow White story, coal in her lungs or body may have contributed to neutralizing the belladonna poison that was likely to have been used if the story were based on reality.) - Eventually Evil Queen hears that not only is Snow alive but that the people see Snow as their leader more than the Queen. Feeling her position threatened she sets out to kill the girl. (Being the "fairest of them all" could refer to personality as well as appearance). - Something Snow never learned was to be suspicious of people and that the Evil Queen isn't the only person who might want to cause her harm. Therefore she naively accepted the gift from the hag not considering that it or the had were anything beyond their appearance (and the hag had no control in being ugly so it would be mean to judge her based on that). - Snow is poisoned, the kingdom is grieving assuming her imminent death, and word gets out to where the prince from Snow's past hears. He (I believe in Disney was called Florian), had been studying with an interest in medicine and learned some new things that old Doc had not. - This is the part I think would be the funny twist on the kiss scene: Prince Florian rides in to pay his respects and recognizes Doc's methods of trying to save Snow so he goes to assist. Florian sees Snow isn't breathing and tries the new technique of CPR and a bit of the Heimlich maneuver. Therefore, Florian wasn't kissing a dead Snow White, he was forcing breaths into a nearly dead Snow White in between forcing her heart to pump blood and the leeches sucking out neutralized poison with the blood. TADA happy ending! Snow survives because her kindness and resourcefulness led to others including the prince develop skills and knowledge they otherwise wouldn't have considered developing and together they take down the Evil Queen and restore Snow to the throne. Someone old enough to know Snow's parents tells Snow that her parents would have been proud of how she helped the kingdom remain strong despite the change of rulers. That Fair Queen Snow surpassed their expectations.
I was gonna say something about the whole... dwarves being CGI thing, but I think they said all I wanted to say. Aside from mentioning the number of little people in Hollywood who have spoken out about Disney's failure with that one, because they were all willing to try out for roles, but none of the roles were offered for real world actors. Now we know why. Because Disney blew way too much money on animation and CGI to actually pay actors to play the characters.

It's not just Ziegler who was miscast. I'm going to include the entire cast. I really like Gal Gadot, but she is way to attractive to play the queen. Snow White is suppose to be more attractive than the queen. The queen's jealousy is the entire driving plot of the story.
One quick point. Disney does not own Snow White, that story is in the public domain because this story is a German fairy tale, first written down in the early 19th century. The Brothers Grimm published it in 1812, and Disney was the ones who brought into the movie theaters, and they produced something great, but the catch is this. Disney can screw it up so badly, that anyone else can produce a new "Snow White" film and it's close to the core of the original storyline can steal the throne of the greatest creators of Snow White and Disney will be viewed as a secondary film company that does not understand what the general public wants. Each of their traditional films are stories in the public domain, which means anyone can take the story from the original source and produce new films rivaling Disney's domination of these classical stories. Like the "The Little Mermaid" is a fairy tale written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Originally published in 1837. Aladdin is a Middle Eastern folk tale. It is one of the best-known tales associated with One Thousand and One Nights is from the 14th-century. Mulan is based on Hua Mulan is a legendary Chinese folk heroine from the Northern and Southern dynasties era (4th to 6th century CE) of Chinese history. Scholars generally consider Mulan to be a fictional character. None of their original classical films are their original creations, even their latest films like Frozen is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen, but it also includes some Scandinavian archaeology and nods to Norwegian history. Moana is based on the very real heritage and history of Polynesian islands such as Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, and Tahiti. Look them up, and you will find one or another film they created and claim as their own creation is based on stuff from the public domain. The thing is this, you could create a film based on any of these original stories, make it look better than what Disney is producing and keep it close the source material and Disney cannot do anything about it, after all these stories are in the public domain or based on actual racial heritage that Disney cannot claim they own. In the end, Disney has screw up badly, often they don't know the original source of their classical films, pr don't bother to look it up, and what they create will become a historical point of animated films based on classical stories and myths, but Disney tried to rewrite historical stuff and lost the trust of the public as they turned their backs on Disney for other movie companies who stick to the original plots of these stories. After all, as the latest Disney Snow White is constantly crashing for their Woke beliefs and ideals, an actress with a big fat mouth, there is another film company producing their own live Snow White film with the actress being a white woman who supposed to have skin white as snow.
To be fair to the huge narcissist, she is saying what a lot of actors think. They just need a job. These actors are not as invested or love the movies like fans think they are. It is just a job that they hope leads to a better job and more attention. Just like sports. The players don't care as much as the fans think they do.

The idea, I suppose, was that they clean the house together, which isn't bad in itself. You can hear the word "together" in lyrics many times. But the tone she's says some phrases in combined with her media attitude makes it look like ordering around, besides, the script doesn't take in account a very legit reason the house was in chaos: dwarves came home extremely late. They're miners, they don't have energy or time to clean after a hard work day. That's why their home isn't organized, not because they're lazy and stupid. And snow White helps them.

That released scene of 'whistle why you work’ was terrible. She more resembles the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, than she does Snow White. Her behavior on screen comes off as a diva being passive aggressive, almost as if she’s the villain.

Exactly they cast Zegler as snow white and Gal Gadot as the evil queen but from everything I've seen Rachel Zegler is much more the villain and Gadot is said to be so sweet and kind. They should've switched those two. The dwarves being cut is also so frustrating because there are so few movies and shows that will cast little people already. There could've been 7 high profile roles in a big budget film to give lesser known little people actors a great chance to launch into other roles (if the movie would have ever done well). But instead it's weird looking CGI.... This entire movie is a trainwreck and should be just left alone never to be released.
Actually switching roles would have.been a cool movie, sort of like when Shrek appeared and turned things around and blew people away....I would watch a Disney where SW was twisted and the Queen was the victim. 😅
I agree heavily with the cgi dwarves like... what they blew their budget so badly on this trainwreck they couldn't hire real people even if they just wore body suits, instead it looks like they tried to make the cartoon more real with a graphics update. The entire plot of this story is supposed to be that the evil queen was jealous that Snow White was more beautiful than her. Can I ask how we're supposed to believe that when Gal Gadot is playing the part of the evil queen and Snow White is played by Ziegler? But if that magic mirror thinks Ziegler is more beautiful than Gal then that thing must be broken. 😂

Someone once pointed out that the mirror is a predatory entity, preying on the Queen's vanity. The point isn't whether Snow White is objectively more beautiful. The point is that the mirror has weaponized the queen's insecurity against a member of the royal family. That's way more interesting, imo.

They didn't, it was just an adaption of a traditional European fairytale, written by the Brothers Grimm, Walt Disney had nothing to with it's creation. I had a ghost in my home for about a year that would take 100 dollar bills and return them the next day. It played lots of jokes on me like detuning my guitar and knocking on the door when I was showering. Not sure why. There was one in the home I grew up in and this one showed up 25 years later.

That said, I strongly suspect that Rachel won't be gracing the covers of fashion magazines a decade from now, when she will still be a relatively young woman. She just doesn't have that "It" factor. I’m actually pretty excited about the Stevie Wonder biopic that Disney is working on. They’re modernizing it a LITTLE by casting a white girl to play Stevie. She’s not blind, but she IS deaf… Oh and she doesn’t play piano, in Disney’s interpretation she’s a basketball player, but everything else is apparently told EXACTLY like it happened, from Stevie’s humble beginnings to stardom. Not only that within the context of the Original original story, and something that I think is meant to be implied in Disney's original classic, "Prince Charming" was betrothed to Snow White from the time she was born, which was commonplace for kingdoms to do back then. So, if we assume in the Disney classic, that at the beginning of the film, that this was the first time they met this would have been the very beginning of the Prince's open courtship of Snow White.
Now knowing all of that if you had heard someone who you were engaged to potentially had died, wouldn't that merit a look at the very least? Then the Prince kisses her, this isn't meant as cringe, this is meant as "I'm sad that this girl who I had a legitimate connection with has died and I am saying goodbye in the best way I know how" moment.
Seriously if the rumours are to be believed I am glad she is being cancelled, she made her "side of the story" quite clear, but that would NOT be enough to make me watch the shit because it is a completely different movie to the classic, it just shares the same name. They would have to reshoot the whole thing, and not only recast someone who is apt to play Snow White, but also hire a bunch of little people to play the dwarfs, there are heaps of little people in the entertainment industry who would have loved a shot at one of those roles.

Heck, Amanda Bynes was in a movie called Sydney White in the 2000s which modernized / loosely translated Snow White into a story set on a college campus where she's some sorority girl that gets kicked out by the *****y popular girls in charge of the sorority and she ends up moving into some Revenge of the Nerds inspired rundown off campus dorm with "the seven dorks". Her "prince" is some rich frat bro she meets at a frat party and gets a crush on whose last name (if I recall the movie correctly) actually is "Prince".
It wasn't really all that long ago, but... man... the good ol' days when people in Hollywood still had enough creativity left in them to do something like that, eh?

Disney has come full circle… Snow White was the first film from Disney.. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t take this live action more seriously and give it the justice to stand up against the original. They are so focused on diversity and inclusivity and all this modern bullshit that they didn’t take the time to make this film as good as it could be. Disney has ruined all the classics they’ve made into live action. Growing up in the 90s, this is extremely disappointing.

I heard something about modern edge to the tale but what is the time period this is set in? If I were to remake Snow White I admit I would take some inspiration from how Once Upon a Time did it with Ginnifer. Snow and her prince met and already cared about each other before the kiss scene so it wasn't "the prince is kissing a corpse found in the woods".
Also how I would write it would be:
- Young Snow and her step-mother don't get along, explore the reason for that a bit. In OUaT, Snow believed she inadvertently caused her mother's death and the step-mother was forced to marry the king instead of her own love. Therefore exploring the relationship dynamic between Snow and her step-mother could be useful to the plot. Especially if one considers that the past had high maternal mortality and thus men remarrying to give their children an new mother-figure to be raised by would be more common than now.
- Due to the tense relationship between Snow and Step-mother, Snow tries to stay close to her father and looks up to him as her only family. The king despite being renowned as the Good King is too busy for Snow as much as the child would need so Snow seeks out other friendly & familiar castle staff in between princess lessons. Thus Snow learns a bit about cooking and cleaning despite a princess would have no need to know such a thing.
- One day while the Good King is meeting with another king Snow finds the other king's son but he's sickly. Snow and the staff help the prince get healthy using what they know from the staff's experience and Snow's books. The prince becomes interested in learning how to heal people and Snow learns that knowledge can be gained from multiple sources.
- As Snow ages, she tries to learn more by pushing at the boundaries of her castle grounds and befriending anyone she comes across to learn about their experiences.
- Eventually issues with her step-mother, now known as the Evil Queen, become too great and the Good King had recently died so Snow is distraught and has no problem with fleeing from the Queen.
- If I recall correctly (from some iteration of the story) the Huntsman spared Snow's life because she was known to be kind. Especially in the time period, women's strength was expressed through emotional fortitude during hardships such as with Cinderella's story. Their stories ending with them married was how the writers signaled that their futures where going to be better because marrying a person one loved was the best outcome a woman could have for that time. If this movie wants to update that part so that it's not a romantic love story it could still be a platonic love story and leave the romance question as not necessary to be answered.
- Before the ending though, we have a recently orphaned and technically homeless Snow out in the wider world for the first time without supervision. The people might try to help but can only provide a little because they themselves are somewhat lacking in resources and there's uncertainty for the future with the Evil Queen as the new ruler.
- Eventually Snow finds her way to a cottage (perhaps the Huntsman suggested it as a place he's seen but doesn't know if it's occupied). Snow recognizes that it is but that it's dirty and she knows hygiene is important to health. If I recall correctly, Snow White cleaned the dwarf cottage as a way of earning her stay, or at least that's how I understood it.
- Snow helps the dwarfs keep their home clean from their coal mining, starts learning more about medicine or something from Doc, cooking (and allergies) from Sneezy or Sleepy, Happy and Dopey helps her overcome her grief and remember how to be positive, Grumpy allows her to express her rage and upset in a healthy way. I don't know who I'm missing but overall the dwarfs and Snow become a family. (There's your modern woke edge, the "found family" trope.)
- While the dwarfs are in the mines, Snow is in the village and trying to help in anyway she can and applying what she learned through her life thus far. This is how she starts gaining the experience and trust to become a leader for her kingdom even though she's not on the throne. She even visits the mines and came up with the canary idea for early warning of danger (though hopefully the canaries don't stay long enough to die just get distressed enough for the miners to know something is wrong and leave.) Snow also suggests masks when the coal dust is disturbed too much but ironically ends up inhaling some each visit because she wasn't masked. (I add this because I think I was told that given the time and place of the original Snow White story, coal in her lungs or body may have contributed to neutralizing the belladonna poison that was likely to have been used if the story were based on reality.)
- Eventually Evil Queen hears that not only is Snow alive but that the people see Snow as their leader more than the Queen. Feeling her position threatened she sets out to kill the girl. (Being the "fairest of them all" could refer to personality as well as appearance).
- Something Snow never learned was to be suspicious of people and that the Evil Queen isn't the only person who might want to cause her harm. Therefore she naively accepted the gift from the hag not considering that it or the had were anything beyond their appearance (and the hag had no control in being ugly so it would be mean to judge her based on that).
- Snow is poisoned, the kingdom is grieving assuming her imminent death, and word gets out to where the prince from Snow's past hears. He (I believe in Disney was called Florian), had been studying with an interest in medicine and learned some new things that old Doc had not.
- This is the part I think would be the funny twist on the kiss scene: Prince Florian rides in to pay his respects and recognizes Doc's methods of trying to save Snow so he goes to assist. Florian sees Snow isn't breathing and tries the new technique of CPR and a bit of the Heimlich maneuver. Therefore, Florian wasn't kissing a dead Snow White, he was forcing breaths into a nearly dead Snow White in between forcing her heart to pump blood and the leeches sucking out neutralized poison with the blood.
TADA happy ending! Snow survives because her kindness and resourcefulness led to others including the prince develop skills and knowledge they otherwise wouldn't have considered developing and together they take down the Evil Queen and restore Snow to the throne. Someone old enough to know Snow's parents tells Snow that her parents would have been proud of how she helped the kingdom remain strong despite the change of rulers. That Fair Queen Snow surpassed their expectations.
I was gonna say something about the whole... dwarves being CGI thing, but I think they said all I wanted to say. Aside from mentioning the number of little people in Hollywood who have spoken out about Disney's failure with that one, because they were all willing to try out for roles, but none of the roles were offered for real world actors. Now we know why. Because Disney blew way too much money on animation and CGI to actually pay actors to play the characters.
