Did you notice that it was squatting so hard that I thought the splitters were about to touch the pavement. The only WS6 T/A I have ever seen do that was my cousin’s 79 T/A 6.6 that had been converted to an automatic and had Hooker headers and a Holley 780 cfm on top. To get a TTA to put down that much power was very impressive. I had a 1980 Pace car and all my fiends had 79’s mostly with 403’s and couple of W72 400’s. Needless to say they slaughtered my little turbo 301. It was great to see a TTA run with the big dogs.
That's an awesome run Joe! Congratulations. Just got my first tta so when I can figure out my running issue I will definitely be in contact for some performance parts 👍
Wow !! that was impressive ! Bro, take the clutch fan off !! It will go 12.30's . Even more advantage with turbo ! Because the rpm can spin up faster. Your gonna have to put 3.42's in it and a 200R4 if you have not already
So far it has been holding up great. Others have gone just as fast and faster with 301 Turbo blocks with no issue. I think a lot of it has to do with knowing the engines limitation (low RPM etc) and keeping a safe tune.
@@ttaperformance1046Aren't All Pontiac Engines Low RPM Engines Basically? I Had 2. 1973 Firebird 2bbl 350, And 1979 Monza With Iron Duke 151! Both Had No Tachometer. By The Way, Is The Iron Duke 151 A Buildable Motor Like The 301?
Actually a transbrake doesnt put a load on the motor, it locks the transmission in first and reverse at the same time, no load is placed on the motor with just a transbrake. The 2-step will knock out a random cylinder when activated and will allow you to leave at a set rpm while holding the brake
I love that you’ve improved and pushed the factory setup so damn far, awesome stuff
Gotta love it. Tremec 6 speed and 4.10 gears and you are in the 11's. That will be sweet!!

You say you won't be running there much longer why? Are they closing the track?
Track is still open. At the time of this video, the track was getting ready to close for the winter.
We will be back at it in April.
Stall speed converter will help
How long will the weak Poncho 301 block last with the big increase in power? Great to see what can be done but the 301 lifespan will decrease.

The blocks aren't the problem. It's everything else.
There Is No Such Thing As A "Weak Poncho 301"! That's Such A Fallacy!

Better gearing will get that 60 ft down a bunch. If you knock 2 tenths off 60 ft, you will knock 4 tenths of ET.
How.many rounds did you go in the bracket racing?
