I always dreamed of hearing a real orchestra playing this since I was a kid. Been playing the clarinet for nearly 20 years now. This was a dream come true. Amazing.
Thats really true. Instead you get only FFVII and so on in live concerts.... Over and over again. Just for the fan boys (or girls). There is so much more music worth to play live, not just everytime the same.....
@@michaelwetzig7088 Yes ikr, I have heard so many renditions of One Winged Angel haha. Great piece though but come on, Ffxiv at least has done some of their own versions of fights from older games. They also did a version of Legendary Beast and the two regular battle music and boss music. Gotta say they have their own unique mixes in the songs.
This isn't a real orchestra though. And he could do better since the mix is poor and the choice of instruments aren't the best. It's decent, but it needs a V2.
I did a few times by accident. My characters were way over-powered and when the battle started he was dead within two turns. Then 'Maybe I'm a Lion ' starts at the beginning of he next battle.
Jason Clark LOL !! :D Pull off Limit Break and then Lionheart!!! :) I remember the first time i got to Greiver, he bussed me up badly with the Shockwave Pulsar which took off 7k+ damage on all my people lol...
somehow it makes me plan to go on no grinding game to beat this game, because Meltdown + Lionheart kill everyone in one attack save for Omega weapon, just so I could enjoy the atmosphere of the song even better.
+Jason Clark (Dark Cataclysm) he should have been alot stronger and have way more HP so people can battle him through this epic song. I think if he increased in difficulty in phase 2 he would have been a more inline with the music.
It has a sense of dire emergency, the epic power that Griever is said to wield, and the resolution of six people brought back together by fate, forced to fight a being that possibly hasn't even been born, and to break themselves from the cycle of fear and prejudice... And to exploit the Limit Break system. :D
I was feeling it until 0:46 . That pluck of a string or hit of a wooden thing don't sound right. You should have redone that. The hi strings sound good, but the orchestra low's sounds need to be increased. The harp pluck needs to be taken out.
+BitSymphony Can't wait to hear it, the original of this is so epic and your new takes on some of your old stuff have so much more UMPH. This is gonna sound really good with that touch added to it. You've clearly figured something out since you did some of these old ones lol
This is my favourite Final Fantasy theme. Of all time. It's just so epic and I'm bit puzzled why they didn't end the game with a bang like this. Instead of whimper like the Extreme is.
Hmm. I dunno, I love all three of the final battle themes in FF8. They're all incredible. But in my opinion, they got the order right; The Legendary Beast fits the beginning of the end. Maybe I'm a Lion fits the height of the battle. And The Extreme fits the end of it all, almost like a calm after a storm. This is just my opinion, of course - either way, all of BitSymphony's remakes are amazing!
You made an awesome work, congrats and sorry to not give you a donation, I don't have Paypal account. Since I finished the game I was waiting for this kind of remake, and you made an old dream come true, thank you very much !
LOL. Not really. I've also finished a 2 year musical course. I'm an audio and studio manager now. I even teach guitar and drums at my own/home studio. :)
this song simply isn't the same without shockwave pulsar sounds. when i was a kid i flt chills down my whole body while griever (DickFace as i called him) gently killed me
When you're in an actual orchestra room, the room will always expand the reverb effects of the instruments. And second, he did not THROW someone elses composition and made them his own. He only remade some of the music which brings back good ol' memories in an improvised way. And third, turn off your stereo expansion effect if the reverb really bothers you that much.
Just gonna preface this response by telling you that I'm a BA Music Composition degree student and know all about acoustics, reverb and arrangement. Essentially all that has been done in this particular piece is he has thrown a MIDI and used a sample library without really adding expression, dynamics etc. The reverb is unnatural and detracts from the music. I have no idea what "stereo expansion" even means, my audio interface has no additional enhancements. Thanks for the response.
Not quite the same as a 3 year BA honours degree where you spend most of your time listening and deconstructing music. But I'm not here to have a pissing contest. You like the track, I don't. The end.
Too much reverb on all your tracks ruin the arrangements. Also don't see why anyone would want to donate. All you did was throw someone elses composition through different plugin.

One of the most underrated themes in FF history! Most people don't even get to hear it. Depends on how you defeat Griever.
Is there a way to skip it?

Sounds more like a Pizzicato string instrument honestly. I'd be fine with it, but it sounds a bit out of key.
+gabriel sylvestre I agree, sounds too muffled, i could sleep to this! what a mediocre job i did with this, will be done again!

I agree.
i wish more people notice this song. i think this is better than the extreeme that sounds like vincent theme, love that theme, though
Oh. That's what this song is called.
f****** amazing! thanks man!
Killed Omega without a single lionheart or Invis moon. Talk about a headache and thrill!
How in the absolute hell did you live through Terra Break? 16 hits 4k damage each = ONE HELLA DEAD PARTY.
u read my mind
Once you become a music student you can never listen to music the same way again :(
mmmmm hot damn this was perfect.

try to increase the speed song 1.25times. it's so intense.

Yes at first, then I feel weird... Original speed is the best speed for this one..
But you got the point >> Intense

There should be a heavy metal version of this track

It's fine, but this one definitely feels like less to me.
That is agreed. The balancing is a little muddled in this track.

My heart skips a bit every time your remake does. T_T It could've been perfect.

Omg ... why i just played 2 Discs >.
So... what's the big deal? No need to be such a critic. Just enjoy the music.
okay... Whatever I guess...
