Really curious that you still have NordVPN as a sponsor...they spend millions on advertising but can't keep their own security or audit the third partys that they contract to. Maybe they could use a two camera system, and Josh could switch views, switch to "Bombadier View" and fly half-blind so to speak, to line up for the drop, and then switch back to "Pilot View" after the pay load is released?
@@johnboleyjr.1698 Add in a buddy system link to a second controller, and configure it to yaw with differential thrust, so the LOS pilot puts Cabbie on approach, and the Bombardier Buddy lines up square. Then the Bombardier can trigger the bay door too.

nordvpn just released that they had a major breach should maybe hold off on them being a sponsor for awhile until they regain trust among users
well sponsors are one of the reasons why this channel is running
World Mapping well they have other sponsors on this channel as well but the breach the nordvpn had occurred over a year ago and they never released a statement until about a month ago even though they new about it long before that go over to a tech channel such as jayztwocents to get better information on it or look it up yourself

In WWII, bombers would drop bombs at low altitude so they would skip over the water and hit German dams, then explode. You should drop pumpkins over water so see how far they would skip too!

LOVE watching these max gross weigh takeoff & climbs. I fly a heavy jet in real life and my favorite thing is max weight takeoffs with all 4 engines at max takeoff power.

Awesome build and flights. Years ago I used to drop a G.I. Joes with (or without) parachutes from a modified Sig Cadet, would be cool to see you drop a battalion out of Cabby like an Airborne Ranger assault. Keep up the great work!

This episode is so interesting!! I’m working through my private pilots license and ground school currently. One of our lessons was lift vs. thrust. I found it amazing that in a climb you need less lift but more thrust. This episode directly correlates that. As you load more weight your using more power to climb, but also as the weight is increased the angle of attack does also. The physics of a model airplane is such a great visual representation of how we learn why we love them so much!!! Keep up the good work peoples!!!

Another suggestion, make a bunch of fighters with Airsoft guns & have a Dogfight in the Air.

DJIs are smooth but a proper chase quad still has to be a acrobatic class like the one that was right on the tail of the plane. Rule is if you want some cinematic or inspection stuff of the ground go DJI if you want video of style, fast / nimble chasing or air to air chasing go acrobatic. Thing is right now DJI recenently bought up a ton of advertising space from all the major flight related channels on you tube or gave them DJI drones and said "you can keep these just use them all time and hammer home how great they are" so for the next couple months expect to hear how great DJI from most of the channels. Mr. Steele recently called them out on some of their gear.
I think cabbie would be a great speed build kit for Christmas with a bomb drop and maybe drop some great stuff out of it

Idea ‐ you have pilot and bombardier. Two separate systems. Bombardier has a sighting "system" for FPV. Together they have to work together to hit target.
See how many GI Joe action figures with parachutes you can fit in it and drop them all at once.

That 400 feet you mentioned may be true for powered planes Josh but cross country gliders often go up to even 4000 feet. So the 400 feet limit would kill the sailplane hobby. I often catch thermals and fly sail planes at 1000 feet. Anything below 400 feet and you’re done with a sailplane the thermals are hard to stay in and small and weak. So there are still problems with that 400 feet.

I'm enjoying the drop videos! You guys should make it a series. Trying to find the best boom! Here are some ideas like big lego ball, 2 liter, fireworks, lights, gliders, bouncy balls, jumbo rubber band ball, basket ball, smoke bombs, and of course anything with a parachute!

I suggest: since this character was a firefighter, what about using it that way. Light a (contained) fire and douse it with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) possibly mixed with orange tempera paint powder for authenticity, then turn around and release a dozen or so G.I. Joe dolls with parachutes, in sequence.
so funny you guys did this...i fly an ultralite and at our grass runway airstrip we dropped pumpkins from 1.000 feet up. We dropped about 20 pumpkins that day, it was so friggin fun. The pumpkin would blow a hole in the ground about 2 feet by about 4 feet and about a foot deep. The sound from the impact could be felt in our chest. We also put a white towel down out in the field to use as a target to bomb. Let me tell you it was really hard to hit the target I will never forget this day...it was really cool and fun.

IF Cabbie doesn't already have one, may I humbly recommend a receiver pack? The sheer scale and time spent on the airplane make a "failsafe" like a receiver pack almost a no-brainer in my opinion.

You need to have an FPV setup in the nose looking down and buddy-box a "bombardier". Then the main pilot can get in the vicinity of the target and then turn it over to the "bombardier" who can then fly over with a look-down view of the target. Kinda like the Norden bombsight in WWII. Maybe stick in a SAFE receiver so it can hold wings level flight while the bombardier has the controls.
Dropping these pumpkins gave me an idea.Ive looked at a lot of videos.And none one has done one yet.But can you guys make a video of a drone or a plane droping flashing signals (firework that just flashes like a welding arc)?Giving the look effect of multiple shooting stars? Over a lake or body of water of course for safety purposes.
I would like to see a replica of those space capsule paracute tests, where they have several stages of chutes to yank the capsule and pallet out of the cargo door, separate the capsule from the pallet, stabilize the capsule, and finally deploy the main chutes.

Thanks for the demo on the DJI Mavic Mini because I have always wondered about getting a drone for my photography business. It does look compact due to the fact that I do carry a lot of gear for my photography. The High Definition Video does look great but I wished that guys would show in 2.7k so I can see how it performs as far as the video is concern. For a beginner like me, $499 is a great deal compare to the other higher prices such as the Mavic Pro that cost about $1,100. So next time, I am requesting that you guys create a demo in 2.7k and thank you in advance.
I'd like to see a flat-spin plane. Like, have a duel motor plane whose rudder can go full 90 in either direction and whose motors can go full reverse. You could get some altitude, then go full opposite on each motor, and chuck the rudder full 90, then once the spin gets fast enough to gyro-stabilize, use ailerons for height control. Then, of course, straighten out and land normally.... or land gently in flat-spin mode lol.
Fun video, but you need to add a bomb site camera and a second person viewing through that camera , either telling Josh when to open the cargo doors, or the second guy controlling the drop. Easy to do and would be fun to watch. Maybe even a competition to see who is the best bomber in the crew.
I gotta wait 2 months for my Mavic mini and they just send you 2. Oh well it still did a great job of filming the pumpkin drops. Lots of fun.
With the new Topgun moving coming I Would love to see you build a F14 tomcat out of foam with wings that you can bring in and out. Still one of my favourite planes. And 2nd to that a concord style plane. Was such a cool shape.

I really wanna see a plane like this but HUGE static thrust and huge wing area.
Something like a crzy coupe sized AVRO Vulcan (but with a victor tail). Huge wings with tons of surface area and an immensely strong connection to the body so unlikely to fold, Mount the motors on pylons to clear the wings, Try and get it to lift 10LB easily with a max of say 15-20LB.
One to do next summer is build a second cargo plane, fill them both with water balloons, split into 2 teams and have a water fight. Bomb, land, reload, bomb again. Maybe with colouring in the balloons so you can see if you actually hit an opponent. Don't bomb from TOO high though.

6:02 "Not going to need to worry about getting clearance for..." Pretty sure the only thing different about a small drone is that hobbyists don't have to pay a registration fee or display a registration number. You still must follow all the same rules, including getting proper airspace authorization. If you are commercially certified, you ought to know this.
