- Here is a stunning 1929 Chevrolet owned by Club member Norm.
Norm has owned this pristine car for almost 10 years.
The big improvement to Chevrolet's 1929 models was the reintroduction of a six cylinder engine known as the stove bolt six. This engine was the first 6 cylinder with overhead valves.
Chevrolet advertised the car as ' a six in the price range of a four'. This prompted Ford to introduce its V8 for 1932.

6 cylinder in 1929 and in fact that was the first year for that six! The '28 is almost exactly the same but the engine wasn't ready so they used a long fan shroud to make up the difference in engine length.

"Stovebolt" It refers to the simple large bolts on the engine head that resembled the simple large bolts used in wooden stove assemblies.

Oh and also 29 is the ONLY year for that round back window.
