    This is the best "How To" video. You go through the steps and explain them to easily understand. Thank you! I can't wait to try it myself.

    ***Recommend gloves when working with a hydroflouric acid. It can cause a lot of damage to skin. (And lungs).

    Thanks for the intro vid ) Was interested to hear it's reusable, I always wasted it off, if my pot of etch is thick consistency is water ok to water it down?

    • @WeekendCraftaholic
      @WeekendCraftaholic  2 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't risk watering down, but definitely scrap off your excess back into your tub to reuse

    thank you for your video....I would like to ask how long does an 80g bottle of etching cream last....

    • @WeekendCraftaholic
      @WeekendCraftaholic  2 роки тому

      guess it depends how much you use it, but mine is only a small bottle, 35g I think? lasted me over a year so far and only half used. I've made maybe 20/30 glasses with it so far?

      I use a cheap one from Amazon, any will do, just avoid the strong grip ones for easier transfer onto the curved surface

      I used my cricut maker to cut out a design I had on a SVG file. usually you'd use the 'letters' but this time I used the negative space, hope this helps

    What happened at the 1:20 mark, after "apply the transfer tape?" The stencil got cut out?

    • @faye4599
      @faye4599 Рік тому +1

      After she applied the transfer tape she removed the backing of the stencil the backing is white which is why when you see it at the 1:12 mark where she applied the transfer tape the design is white but you'll notice right before the scene changes to her applying it to the glass she flipped the stencil over like she was removing something. She was actually and probably should've showed that part for some people that don't know how some of those stencils work. It's actually sticky and the transfer tape is only used to help give you something to hold onto other than the stencil so you're not compromising the stickiness of the stencil itself and to help you apply it straight and without wrinkles and such. I can see where you got lost because the design was white when all of the sudden the scene changes and then the stencil is cut out completely. It kinda makes you feel like you missed a large part of the process. In this case the cutting out of the stencil but that was done much earlier.

    is rubbing alcohol the same as the spray you used?

  • @mariaphilomena1422

    Don’t they sell stencils that are sticky on one side? It seems like you need a cricket machine to do these projects with the etching cream

      I've not heard of them but I'm sure they'd work. Similarly if you attach stencils it may work if you spray down with something like pixie spray. my demo is specifically for using it with a Cricut vinyl stencil - great question

    I thought Ii said under 5mins it’s a lot longer then that you have to leave the cream on for 10 minutes and Prior to that you have to cut the vinyl LIES
