JAWA 559R | 350 cc 2-stroke single - acceleration test

- ...this is a cockpit view during a little country road ride with a quite special JAWA 559. It used to be a 250 cc which was converted to a 350 cc single incl. reed valve and large carb. Quite similar to what was offered on the US-market as Model Type 573 (no reed valve at the time of course).
The top speed of the 559 R is almost 150 kmph now and its #twostroke torque is phenomenal when comparing with stock performance.
Enjoy the 1960s 2-stroke power classic with many advanced home made parts as well as Libenak / 579 / 553 etc. components.

Serious work and realisation. What about the consumption? My 638TS blow 7,5-7,7 liters/100km at 100-110 km/h. This should be similar or higher.
5,5 to 6,0 L/100 on country roads, if below 100 km/h in average. 6,5-7,0 Liter if below 120 km/h in average. Twins are more thirsty.

Probably yes as far as acceleration is concerned. The Ninja has 28 Bhp and 20 Nm. This JAWA beast has 35 bhp and 47 Nm @ same weight. At top speed those well streamlined plastic bombers will be faster.

It seems not too much.. I thought it was mph. A 125cc, 4 stroke run 120 km/h. A 350cc, 2 stroke must do better than this.
