Thanks from my Trusty 2003 Expedition with 68,000 miles. I bought her new in 2002. One of 5 that came to Houston. I had a leather interior put in before I took delivery. She pulled a 26FT Travel Trailer and back and forth between Houston and central Texas. Some trips to work before retirement in 2005.
The owners manual says that vertical bolt in the back is an adjustment bolt....it is not. It IS a retaining bolt. The adjuster is the horizontal stud protruding from the housing on the back. You'll need a 4mm six point socket.
I’m glad to hear that because I broke the support on the bottom for the long bolt… I didn’t notice that the side piece was catching the facia molding and I kept yanking on the whole headlight. Once I saw this video I saw my issue.
Hey Daddyswork, what manufacturer did you go with on rockauto? You found the exact same looking assembly as stock and I would like to buy the same one.
Okay, thanks a bunch! How are they looking 2 years later? Do you use the plastic headlight yellowing preventer that megiures makes? I heard about it from Scotty Kilmer.
(Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I can get a quality headlight brand) One last question, how does the beam pattern match the OEM headlight assembly? Does it differ any?
Pattern looks the same as far as I can tell, and lenses still good now. Haven't used any polish or preservative on it, and generally stear clear of Scotty kilmer advice
Thank you, that was helpful! However, I am having an issue now. The driver side works properly. The passenger side headlight does not light as bright as the driver's side, ( I replaced the bulb thinking that might be the issue but it was the same), and when I turn on the brights it turns off completely. I am testing it prior to completely installing/attaching the assembly. is there a chance that's an issue......could that metal guide prong be the ground? I am at a loss! HELP, PLEASE, THANK YOU!
the bulb ground through the wire harness/plug/bulb socket, so no ground through any mounting portion. If consistently dim on passenger side perhaps a wiring/corrosion issue? perhaps the bulb socket is damaged or corroded and not making good contact?
Also I don’t know if you’re still making videos but you need to show them to masking tape around the headlight because your average person is just gonna stick whatever in there and start prying…..Just trying to offer some advice
good thought, thanks for bringing that up. I did mention that when prying, but I like your idea of masking the entire perimeter, would help in general with any scratching
I replaced lens as well and now have the exact same problem. If I out old lenses back on they work like a champ. Using same bulbs and bulb sockets. Don't know about the wiring in New lenses but it should be different.

You should have showed them to pry from the bottom it comes right out once you have released the straight pen
Isn't that third 10 mm bolt a adjuster screw for angle of headlight
Very helpful.
thank you

TYC brand. I've installed them on a 2000 F250 also a few years before this video and they have been great as well.

Just gotta remember that these videos are for the average Joe not someone that’s been professionally handling vehicles like you or me for 15+ years.
I would share some photos and video with you but I don’t know how to.
I changed my lens and now my headlights do not work. The high beam light on my dash stays on. What could that be?
hmm..kinda odd. did yours come with new bulbs and sockets installed? might be bad bulb or socket, try one of the old ones in it
Typical Ford on mine I call it as most do "FIX OR REPAIR DAILY""
