One very important feature everyone ignores about the vertical holder is that it allows your M2 NVME SSDs to stay cool behind your graphics card. New motherboards have multiple M2 NVME slots right under the PCIe slot. If used without the vertical holder the SSDs have no adequate ventilation behind the graphic card. Use a vertical holder and you will get 7 to 10 degrees drop in temperature of the SSDs behind the graphic card.
Hello, a sugestion for V3, the brackets on the PCI bracket area, have the first and last on the V3 bracket have brackets, and also, so you can keep the brackets in the slot, except the one for the HDMI cable, extend that side of the V3 so the screws can stay in (My case has big screws, so keep that in mind), it would look better, than having a hole at the back of the case.
I like that it will also accommodate a DVI-D connector, which the Cablemod mount does not, or more than 2 cables. But I'd like to see some measurements of it and some pointers of whether my GPU card would fit alongside a CPU air cooler that overlaps all of the first PCI-E slot. It is only shown alongside liquid coolers. So it's not worth spending this much money on it to find out it won't fit with my GPU card and CPU cooler.
Will there be a Version 3 with a PCI-E 4.0 riser cable? X570 motherboards can have problems with PCI-E 3.0 cables, and I don't exactly want to downgrade my MB to 3.0.

This is SO cool. My ASUS TUF Gaming case has the vertical slots, but it's right up against the glass. My TUF Gaming RTX 3060 can still breathe, but not all that freely. One day I'll grab one of these 😍
So I can't fit my radiator uptop and have it in front with tubes down low like I should. If I run tubes up top it seems to vertical to pump and will result in gurgles. I have a bigger 3070 with 3 fans now to mount so I gotta figure it out. Either I get shorter ram but I dont want to replace totally fine ram. So started looking at these here. Will I maybe be able to route my tubes easier with onethese vertical mounts? P.S. just saw these are only pci 3.0 right? am i losing much with my 3070?
I bought one for my Corsair 220T and water cooled 1080Ti Thanks CM it’s a good design although perhaps a bit expensive. I customised it further by buying colour purple anodised thumbscrews to replace the stock black ones.

But you can't fit a DVI Connector through the struts. You have to cut the struts and hat looks terrible. Or you have to slight the graphic card all the way to the side and go with the DVI plug on the right side of the case which does not look right.
The drawback to the V1 model that I found was I could no longer use it with my RX 6700XT. My RX 590 fit but it was snug, the 6700XT extends into the area my Hyper 212 takes up. My case is a MC500P and I'd love to know if the V2 suffers the same issue.
neat option to have it not destructive like other kits, but i still prefer having a sound card in the lowest slot and this just blocks ALL the PCI-e ports.
My system has an extra sound card which I use to power bass transducers through an external 4 channel amplifier. This solution would not allow any extra cards to in installed, right?

@@Maegrim- no but if you ever have to update change BIOs then you gotta replug the card in directly to motherboard to change it back from 4.0 to 3.0 or it wont recognize the card vertically mounted with the riser cable even. But yeah PCIe 4.0 is not supported by anybody right now really.
How far off the motherboard does this bring the card? I’m having an issue with a budget pc conversion to gaming pc. I’m its original state, the bigger card won’t seat on the motherboard due to f-panel connections and usb 3 connection cables.

There's 3% increase max of FPS between a pcie 3.0 vs 4.0. So, keep your money, and adjust your bios on 3.0 4.0 is so commercial, and technically, the cable longer cause problem, riser are not the best way for performance, but aesthetically vertical have awesome look.
Just got one of these and wholly disappointed with it :-( Main problem is that the riser cable is quite stiff and a bit too long. So, when mounted the cable is curled up against the motherboard and GPU mount, which pushes it out on the non-secured end. So, instead of sag I've got skew!! :-/ Also, with an air cooler (I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212) the GPU is extremely close to the cooler. No more than a couple of mm gap. So be aware of this if you're thinking of buying one. Wouldn't be a problem with an AIO. But I'd say this is not quite as 'universal' as Cooler Master say. It really depends on what you have in your case.
Can I switch the Risercable? I got the TD500 Mesh and a RTX 3060 with PCI-e 4.0 but the cable here has only PCI-e 3.0. Would be just amazing if this was possible. If it is possible I’ll buy it Instantly.
2:36 your GPU is still sagging and also it is flying (I like to stick to bottom of case and not fly in mid air) or at least adjustable so if someone want to have their SSD down there, they still can install it!
how much interference will you have with a large aircooler if you also have a rather wide graphics card? Seems like you have very limited space for those with tower coolers. Would that red devil fit in the previous case with aircooler for instance?
Id like to ask same question. I got exact same cooler (CM hyper 212) and v1 card holder. Im going to buy GPU but looks like there is not enough space for wide GPU and CPU air cooler. I think my corsair dominator heatsink can be problem too. Its even lower than CPU cooler.
Can you install this CM v2, and then possibly have the top PCIE express slot empty for sound card/wifi card? (Assuming the PCIE express is on top of the motherboard), I am using a lianli o11 dynamic case.
I had this same thought, but then I looked at my rig, and it seems like most traditionally mounted GPUs are snugged right up against the chipset, anyway. I would LIKE to think that any extra heat from the FE cards firing exhaust at the chipset (or vice versa) would be offset by the extra space this puts between the card and board (more airflow, basically). Not that I will ever get to test that theory...RTX 3000 appears to be largely a myth, at this point.

Can you put 3 slot cards in there? The spec sheet says it only supports up to 2.5 slots but there is no obstruction at the front so maybe ok?

Sadly if you have a seperate Soundcard or other card like a Capture Card etc. you can´t use that holder.
