- The Troopers hornline warms up for their DCI performance in Monroeville, PA on June 24, 2015. Includes their warmup routine, as well as their 2015 show excerpts. Enjoy my first Troopers brass vid!
Filmed at 60p / 60 fps on my Canon VIXIA HF G30.
The drum major's facial expression says it all: Passion.
The drum majors facial expressions are great!
Eric Dotson Hypes the horns haha. Probably boosts their volume at lease 10%.
Probably true
+Matt Dougard not exactly. He actually did that from the beginning, he's been with this corps for 5 years, so he's giving back by putting all his emotion into performing. He's performing for his brothers and sisters in the drum corps. That's actually him. Not a theatrical face for hype and for show only.
Austin Leonard I never said that it was there to purely hype the horns, I was just saying that it sure seemed to do the trick.
+Austin Leonard This makes me so happy knowing this. I've taken a liking to the Troopers recently and seeing how he conducts is just exciting and inspiring. Knowing he does it out of love and not for show is just the cherry on top.
Troopers are so underrated i swear. Then when i see and hear things like this. It just backs my opinion up that they are great
DCI APD: $3.99. Being able to listen to this hornline at this level of authentic sound reproduction: Priceless.
***** Aww shucks! Thanks :)
HornlineFanatic I only speak truth! :)
Forever will the image of that drum majors passion on the final impact be burned into my memory. The sheer LOVE for what you are creating combined with the NEED to be perfect is what makes these organizations AMAZING. "The only way you will get the audience to feel the emotions you want them to feel, is of you genuinely feel them first."
Mad respect to the drum major. Mad respect to the organization. Mftc for life.
MFCT* ;)
Oh come on DCI judges, PLEASE put the Troop in the top 12 this year!
Thanks for recording this! I'm the mellophone player on the left while Aaron is conducting us. This is one of my favorite videos of the season and i love sharing it with my family and frienda
One of my favorite to this day
Two years later I watch this video and I don't understand how this show didn't make finals that year
I will forever love the Troopers and I hope that they are keeping some of the old traditions alive. You guys sound great and I wish you the best of luck!
George Smith On a separate note, I do like the warmer sound of band instruments, but they will never match the volume or intensity of good ol G Bugles
I love the enthusiasm that the drum major has!!!!! We have to be robots at my high school, no kind of expression whatsoever... Thank you for this video :-)
Steve Guacamole My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Steve Guacamole Totally agreed. Even some of the other DCI DM's are pretty emotionless. I would give anything to have that kind of creative power at my fingertips again.....
Imagine having the opportunity to conduct something as beautiful as the piece at 2:52? The emotion emanating from the drum major gave me chills.
This is Top 12 worthy.
Honestly, the only reason Troop doesn't make finals is because they can only take 12 in finals.
Rawhide Kobayashi I mean that's kind of why every other non-finalist corps doesn't make finals...
Quyen Dang Well, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that if it wasn't a matter of only being able to take 12, and it was only a matter of meeting a certain quality, Troop would make it. It's just a matter of there not being enough spots.
+Quyen Dang lol valid point
Ya know, not long ago, this would have been a Top 6 hornline. The standards are so high these days.
Such an awesome recording, thanks @hornlinefanatic!
+Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps thank you :)
The drum major doesn't appear until over two minutes into the video. It took him that long to walk 20 yards from the bus.
I'm glad you noticed that the drum major walks slow
If you notice he IS actually there standing just behind the brass at the very beginning of the video. He is actually cheering them on. Come on man...
ebok98 dude its a inside joke
Their ballad is one of my very fave DCI moments this year. Fantastic w/ brass alone. Add the brilliant vocalist and it's just beyond beyond. Thanks for the amazing quality audio!
The pitch bend is what makes it.
this is one of the better troopers hornlines in a long time!
Goosebumps everywhere. Holy crap.
They sound AMAZING this season! And the quality of this video and audio is astounding!
EVerYdAy RiCHaRd Sitting in this circle was very eye-opening. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this! It was definitely a great season.
My pleasure. Glad I managed to get in the circle during early season while they were letting people in! :)
That. Ballad. Is. My. Favorite. Thing. The mellos 😭😻
Great rehearsal technician. His understanding of embouchure control coupled with auditory exercises makes the warmup session a real plus in that each time the enviornment of warmup will dictate how the ear must adjust; henceforth allowing each musician the ability to improve physical and auditory skills.
3:36 "Fuck Yea"
Woo hoo Troopers! Can't wait to see you in August in Rome, NY
This sound quality beats half the bands that make top 12 every year. Troopers need some great show design visually and they should be up there for sure.
Niiiiiiice controlled sound! That DM was ALL IN!!! Love it
If there is one thing that will be the deciding factor for me to audition for drum major this year form my high school band, this will be it. That dude is amazing, such passion. Dang.
DAT DRUM MAJOR!
awesome power from the brass, great emotion from the drum major, i think it got more power from the brass. great work.
Thank you so much
The sound is amazing i want this kind of sound for my high school band!!! You guys are amazing i watch all the vids!!! Im trying to get this kind of sound for my trumpet section of 16
I admire the drum major's, Gabe I think is his name, passion and his emotion that he's putting into conducting. There's no doubt that he's "in" the music. It's truly awesome!
ow OW! Sounding great, guys! Keep it up - you make all of us alums proud! :) #HLD
What great music.
Drum Major was into it! I love that.
This is sweet hornline candy!
i hope you dont mind me using this video to inspire my freshman recruits to learn how to play.
Aldynn Meyer Go for it! One of the main reasons this channel exists!
I've never heard of the Troopers, and I don't know why. I've known about DCI since 2002. So, no idea why I haven't heard about them. They sounded great.
UrMomsHusband theyre one of the oldest corps of all time...please learn the history of DCI
Account Manager, You mad or Nawl? I didn't say I'm a huge fan of DCI. I simply said, "I've known about DCI since 2002." I'm sure there are a lot more drum corps that I don't know about. Its not learning the history, its just not me taking the extra mile that many others do, and learning the history. I love this DCI stuff, but its not my life. No disrespect to these kids and the hard work they put into their shows, but I'm a little too old for the whole learning the history at this. My music life is long gone. But, its still good to hear these talented youngsters. Have a beautiful day.
Can you try and get a video of crowns hornline if possible. Their brass is unreal this year
That is passion.
Love my Troop!!!!! :->
i feel it too drum major... i feel it too
that drummajors expressions made this clip 10x better!!!
Man, that tuba on the left is about to fall over.
Wow!
Best they've sounded. My only beef is the trumpet stick-outs.
Kenton Wallis Keep in mind this was early season! So easy to forget when they sound this good! I am sure they are miles ahead of this by now.
WOW
TROOP
I'm considering applying for these guys for my first corp, I'll be auditioning for percussion, I've been looking it up and everything seems really intimidating, any tips from anyone? That would really help
+Stormbreaker come to Madison ;)
+Tyler McComb scouts?
yeah!
+Tyler McComb is it a good corps to star in?
+Stormbreaker *start
This Is The Armys Band .?
what name of the song at minute 3:00
+Pande Fajar "Wild Horses", as performed by Natasha Bedingfield ua-cam.com/video/OWIVi_Oa4as/v-deo.html. If you ever want to identify drum & bugle corps music, I highly recommend www.corpsreps.com ("corps repertoires").
+HornlineFanatic thanks you :D
+Pande Fajar No problem! You're welcome. Thanks for watching :)
yall try so hard to find something to hate on
