By the time I've spent weeks on an edit, it can be hard to see a vid as anything but a bunch of aesthetic imperfections, so thank you for your comment :')
I played trombone all the way up through college. I never followed drum corps, but always loved the music. I was watching a Christopher Bill video when I think your Carolina Crown 2017 video came up in my recommendations. Chills my man. Since then I've been through several of your videos. I'm really glad I found you. I've really missed playing and performing, and this helps fill a void for me.
That's awesome to hear. Really glad to be able to bring these sounds to brass players! If you like it enough, I highly recommend catching a nearby drum corps show if you can, because after August, there's no more DCI (or DCA) until June 2018! dci.org/schedule
Even though I've never had the opportunity to march, I've auditioned for this Corps several times. And every time I hear this hornline, It always brings me tears of joy! Thank you so much for your amazing videos! Keep up the great work!
Love the Quality videos you make (coming from a videographer myself and a former DCI marcher (99 Crossmen/ 98 Tarheel Sun). Reminds me of my favorite moments of performing which really was the warming up, not even the show.
I marched BLOOO in 1993 and that was one of the first years for Pants and Thumbs as warmup and I played with RIB at the end of this and was upfront for the BOXER GO BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
And yes I am late, but the "never" has been eliminated!!! Just wanna say thank you, thank you, thank you because DCI could be doing a much better job due to the quality you captured with this. Just. Saying. 🎵🎺
Thank you! I see it's discontinued but I'm sure there's an equivalent I just have a cheapo Polson Looks like I need to upgrade! Wow what a great potential sales sample video for Rode. (haha) anyway Thanks for the feeding all of our addiction!
Okay i know im a dci newbie im going to my first show in atlanta for the southeastern championships, how do i see the corps in the lot do i have to miss part of the show? where do i find out where they warm up?
What you're probably hearing is that for most of it, the trumpets were all to my left, and to the right was mainly low brass. But if you listen with good headphones that don't exaggerate the highs, it should sound pretty balanced.
+Liam Watters so I just realized Bluecoats are not at that upcoming Pittsburgh show. But I'd recommend the upcoming Massillon show or even Allentown if you want to catch them. However, the corps at the Pittsburgh show will not fail to impress.
If Bluecoats would just turn that darn ballad around and let us hear it full on they'd raise by at least 5 points
4:21 “BLOW MY FACE OFF!”
Bluecoats: K
You know its gonna be good when you hear those magical words... "BLOW MY FACE OFF!!" 4:19
At long last, a good recording of the Boxer. Can't wait to hear it in Massillon this August.
Massillon has to be the best spot to hear the encore because the stands are very close to the sidelines, making everything sound louder.
2008 was my age out year with the Bluecoats. I will never not get chills listening to the Bluecoats play the Boxer! BLOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Ugh... Your videos are so beautifully done they literally make me weep tears of happiness. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
By the time I've spent weeks on an edit, it can be hard to see a vid as anything but a bunch of aesthetic imperfections, so thank you for your comment :')
I don't know how I stumbled on to your channel, but you are becoming a favorite of mine quickly.
Whoa, did you come here already as a drum corps fan, or did you learn about it here? And thanks for the kind words :)

At the end of their show in Rockford I was yelling BLOO and I was looked at by my whole section like I was stupid.
I want the Bluecoats to perform The Boxer for my funeral
I am proud to say I am an alumni 93 Euph and 2015, 2016, and 2017 Rhythm in Blue
+Kevin Stone thanks for the awesome sounds 😎
It's really awesome that u go to all these shows to see these drum corps and film their warm ups! And in awesome quality as well! 👍
Every thumbnail is the BCH or Drum Major with their arms intensely up above their heads, and I love it. :D
Shucks, you've figured out the Hornline Fanatic clickbait formula.
It's not click bait when the videos are sick af ;)
If you're a tuba fan, go to 5:06 😍
I was standing right beside you for this..I should have asked if it was you. Fantastic quality!! Thank you :)
I don't care what people say, they're my favorite show this year
Love the Quality videos you make (coming from a videographer myself and a former DCI marcher (99 Crossmen/ 98 Tarheel Sun). Reminds me of my favorite moments of performing which really was the warming up, not even the show.
That pedal is life :)
Been waiting for a quality audio recording of the boxer. Great fucking job man! Keep it up
I marched BLOOO in 1993 and that was one of the first years for Pants and Thumbs as warmup and I played with RIB at the end of this and was upfront for the BOXER GO BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Beautiful stuff as always man, just love your ability to capture moments in a way that just leaves you with a big smile at the end of watching.
Thanks :)
No one can do it quite like you can, fantastic work AGAIN, keep up the great content
0:52 low brass literally makes me tremble.
Saw them at the southwestern championships in San Antonio and they were amazing hope they win at Indianapolis
Absolutely love the stereo sound, hearing the F go all the way around the ensemble
That was such a tease there in the end with the ballad :( Post the full version of it please!
I'm auditioning for them this upcoming season, wish me luck! I'm a Baritone player :)
I can't wait to see their 2018 premiere tonight! I'm just getting my morning Bloo fix!
Hot damn. What a sound.
i’m not in band of any sort nor do i play a horn but i’m so IMPRESSED by this like the beginning crescendo and cut off??
pure amazing starts at 3:54
i can watch this forever
Great as always
love playing these warm ups with my Blooo alumni family. GO BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 93 Euph.
And yes I am late, but the "never" has been eliminated!!! Just wanna say thank you, thank you, thank you because DCI could be doing a much better job due to the quality you captured with this. Just. Saying. 🎵🎺
THAT CUT OFF. Gave me LIFE
Never realized that there was an excerpt from Grow Till Tall after The Boxer. Now I’m crying haha
fantastic
So GOOD....SO FREAKIN' GOOD!!!! i LOVE The Bluecoats!! :)
Pure class.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thanks for watching :)
I apologize for being uneducated, but what is the hornline playing at 2:30? It's so good
Jordan Gauntlett I'm wondering the same
no idea. It sounds amazing though.
Jordan Gauntlett neeeeed to know :(
No apologies necessary, I'm waiting for someone to tell us too lol
On another video, I saw it called "Melodic Element No. 3" arranged by Doug Thrower. (what a fantastic piece)
4:21 says it all. :)
I wish the melodic movement #3 was longer
Killing the lot game, my man...
Noticfication squad 🤓
Okay, I think we can all agree that hornline is WAAAYY better than drumline. Maybe not in actual shows, but DEFINITELY in warm-ups!
What is the music at 2:48????🔥🔥🔥
A QUALITY RECORDING OF THE BOXER
B L O W M Y F A C E O F F
YES
So f__king awesome! I'm sure you've been asked many times, I need to know, what type of mics do you use?
Rode SVMP
Thank you! I see it's discontinued but I'm sure there's an equivalent I just have a cheapo Polson Looks like I need to upgrade! Wow what a great potential sales sample video for Rode. (haha) anyway Thanks for the feeding all of our addiction!
The boxer!!
I'm going to the July 31st. DCI show in Annapolis, MD. Where do the Blue Devils & Cadets do their warm-ups ?
Free replay buttons 4:24
Their warm-up could be in the show lmao
this mello line is nuts
Whaa? Where's 2:33 from?
What if bluecoats and crown did a collab at some point... I'd pay good money to see that
When power meets groove... That's a spine tingling thought
Okay i know im a dci newbie im going to my first show in atlanta for the southeastern championships, how do i see the corps in the lot do i have to miss part of the show? where do i find out where they warm up?
Yeah if you're planning on watching a lot, be prepared to miss out on a corps or two. It's different for every venue but follow the music haha.
Yeah you're going to have to miss some of the show. They warm up while other corps are performing.
Does anybody know why it's called "Thumbs?"
What's the piece at 5:22 called?
At 2:30 what is the name of that warm up
what was played around 2:30?
Are you going to be at the Dublin show? Great vid!
There was a weird thing happening with the audio during the warm up. The right side sounded really muted.
What you're probably hearing is that for most of it, the trumpets were all to my left, and to the right was mainly low brass. But if you listen with good headphones that don't exaggerate the highs, it should sound pretty balanced.
Aaaah that's exactly what it is! Using my Logitech G930 headphone rn haha. Thought maybe you had your hand or something covering part of the mic :)
Haha nope, would never block it with my hand, and if I did, I'd consider the footage destroyed and just go catch them at another show :)
What song is at 2:30?
Where at in Pittsburgh Bc I'm really angry that I missed them
Don't despair - there's another Pittsburgh show. dci.org/schedule
+Liam Watters so I just realized Bluecoats are not at that upcoming Pittsburgh show. But I'd recommend the upcoming Massillon show or even Allentown if you want to catch them. However, the corps at the Pittsburgh show will not fail to impress.
Thank you so much! I noticed the same thing but it will be my first DCI show so I'm not complaining.
Contra at 2:23 😍
Hornline fanatic do you have footage of pioneer 2017 from the prelims lot?
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
Will you be at Quarterfinals this week?
got eargasm
Whats the song at the end?
What do you use to record audio?
Fucking amazing, pardon my French.
Is 4:26 the boxer
where can i find the excercise that starts at :35
Almost every Bluecoats hornline warmup vid. Type in “bluecoats thumbs” and you’ll see.
This one is my favorite
ua-cam.com/video/sIRdkW6okkE/v-deo.html
that first release tho
"Blow my face off"😂😂
turn up
I love you
“BLOW MY FACE OFF!!!”
it's carolina crows behind bluecoats ?
fuckin chills man
Bluecoats are the only dci that could attract people not in banf
Gotta love a world without pants
Not sure they are playing that this year - so this may technically be a world without A World Without Pants.
