Admittedly, I feel a little foolish not noticing the button color detail earlier. It's one thing to miss it as a kid, but I missed this detail two or more times after that. Even though Kenobi's plea to "use the Force" proceeds it, I still failed to see it. You're smart for having noticed it. Thanks for the comment.
It could - thank you for a solid counterpoint. There's no certainty when talking about symbolism unless the filmmaker confesses it directly. To me, it seems that manual control being "on" corresponds better to red than the green - but that's just a hunch, based on my expectation/bias. There are also accidents (even in planned scenes) that retroactively appear as intentional, just because of how they happen to land, or due to some detail a director wasn't even thinking about. I don't think that's the case here, but it's always smart to consider it as a possibility, and I'm glad that you brought it up. Growth comes from considering alternatives - which is a tendency I'd like to hold onto, despite my interest in the symbolic.
Could be Green = Safe Red = Active.
Man i'm pretty sure the prop dept made some buttons and Mark pressed one of em
It could be just that. I don't think it is, but's that's cool. Thanks for representing the other side of the argument.
47 years later - It's about time someone else got it...

May the force and algorithm be with you
@@lastjedi-1 Thank you.
Very well done!
Thank you. It's appreciated.
Thanks Al for bringing me here. Fun video that's well made!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Wow. The UA-cam algorithm really pulls up some gems sometimes.
I mean, the button could just mean manual targeting, that he is switching on in that moment. Get a bit of that occam's razor involved.
