"Barracuda" is a song by the American rock band Heart. It was released as the first single from the band's second album, Little Queen (1977). The song spent 20 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and peaked at No. 11. In 2007, the song was a playable track in the music video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. In 2009, "Barracuda" was named the 34th Best Hard Rock Song of All Time by VH1. Ann Wilson revealed in interviews that the song was about Heart's anger towards Mushroom Records, who as a publicity stunt released a made-up story of an incestuous affair involving Ann and her sister Nancy Wilson. The song particularly focuses on Ann's rage towards a man who came up to her after a concert asking how her "lover" was. She initially thought he was talking about her boyfriend, band manager Michael Fisher. After he revealed he was talking about her sister Nancy, Ann became outraged, went back to her hotel room, and wrote the original lyrics of the song.

Lead vocalist is top tier... She's got it all... Power, range, accuracy, control, and good looks are a plus. Lead guitarist is really good as well. Man, the more I listen, the more I like their entire band.

There will be differing opinions on that. If you are looking for a cover that closely matches the original, look up Gretchen Wilsons version. Don't take this the wrong way, but Daria cannot contend with Ann Wilson's voice.

My tastes simply prefer the mix of authenticity mixed with raw and raspy power.
Example. I have always loved the “Sound of Silence” by S&G but was completely blown away when “Disturbed” transformed into powerful yet authentic version of the original.
Great thing about music, regardless of type, is we all love it. Opinions are as individual as each song is.
@@jhetteman1 I agree with you here. Just that for my money, if you are going to cover an Ann Wilson song, you need some pipes. That's me. My taste in music is a bit different from yours, but that's ok.
Is there no end to the talent of this band? Rhythm section tight as hell, and that guitar!!! He should be doing session work, I bet he can play anything. Would love to hear him do an original instrumental track, the guy has so much talent. And then Daria... an amazing voice, possibly the best cover I have heard of this track, not an easy one to sing for sure and to do it justice, and of course she's not singing in her native language. Although I have seen an interview with her, and her English is impeccable. Please guys consider covering a track by Crucified Barbara, something like "Rock me like the devil. Of" Killer on his knees" you would smash it like always.

Мне очень нравится оригинал, но и эта версия просто бомба - сыграно и спето на все 150%. Девушка - бриллиант. Редкий случай, когда в одном человеке встречаются такой талант, красота и что очень важно - хорошие актерские задатки. Далеко не все хорошие вокалисты умеют так здорово и интересно держаться в кадре.

This is a more heavier version than the original. This rocks !
The heavy riffs by heart are meant to be this heavy. I'm not sure what happened to bass and drums on original track but this is HOW this song should have sounded like. This track is ahead of it's time. This band brought it to life IMO. Gotta love the sassy Daria too lol

Лично мне было как-то непривычно видеть в качестве исполнительницы и вокалистки очень-очень красивую девушку и... привязать столь мощный и энергичный вокал к этой красоте... Перепевка хитов, но в женском вокале - отдельная тема, они (хиты), на мой слух от этого не потеряли.))

Не факт. Огромное количество западных известных музыкантов исполняют чужие песни (неоднократно уже исполненные) и в этом нет ничего плохого. Вопрос не в том свое или нет, а в том как исполнено.

Пока нет своих треков вы всем будете до лампочки, как бы хорошо вы не пели/играли/выглядели на сцене. Таковы реалии музыкального бизнеса.
Думаю они и сами знают. Заделать хит не так просто, а его же еще и раскрутить нужно. А чтобы без раскрутки взлетело это должно быть нечто такое чего еще небыло и било на повал!
Ощущение, что девушка крепко жалеет, что она девушка, а не родилась мужчиной. При этом внешние атрибуты женщины все вроде на месте, за ними жесткий контроль, но у меня лично какое-то чувство несоответствия (неконгруэнтности) внешнего внутреннему ощущению человека, кажется, что несмотря на всё человек себя не принимает (женское в себе, считает его ущербным в сравнении с мужским). Лирику тоже просмотрела.

для моего лайка не хватило эмоционального компонента - не слышно души исполнителей. мало динамики и грува. из-за этого звучит плосковато, хотя видно, что ребята умеют играть. сравните с оргиналом, чтобы понять о чем я говорю. плоское звучание - обычная проблема современной тяжелой музыки. нужно больше динамики.
В основном смотрят на смартТв, а там часто лайки забывают ставить.

But, Ms. Daria Zaritskaya, who's a very hard-hitting 'powerhouse' singer in her own right, is not trying to be Ann Wilson. Furthermore, what's really special about this group, all of them, is that they're NOT trying to directly imitate any artist and cover song they do. Lastly, to include Barracuda, every single song they've done...they've not destroyed it. They've either done each song justice or even, dare I say, rivaled it. Rock on, Sershen & Zaritskaya!

Here I am watching this again. Daria has the most incredible voice and stage presence, really throwing herself in the song. Spectacularly beautiful too. The band gel so well together, and their playing is faultless. Love the guitar work. From every part of this video the performance, delivery, tightness of the band and the sound and video is just so much more professional than the majority of stuff in the mainstream now.
