I made one, I watched your video and we'll I left it set to long, it was hard as a rock, but then I tried it again and the second one turned out beautiful, thank you so much, it will be a gift for my daughter N law. Your so funny.
My first attempt at making a bowl was a huge fail. I did not want to waste the resin though, so I drilled a hole in the middle and turned it over my bird feeder as a squirrel baffle. Oh, and I won't use cling wrap either.Love your work!
Hi Jules, I have tried a few different resins and I have to stay with ArtResin. It is toxic free and food save and it works very good for me. I know there are a lot of resins on the market. Artresin has the glass look also. Have a great day and God Bless.
I love Art Resin. I used it solely for a couple of years and was approached by a few companies to try out theirs. I still use Art Resin and as of right now am not biased to one particular brand. But I definitely love their whole crew and underlining premise of the company.
I tried a free formed resin vase using plastic wrap and I want to thank you for sharing your disaster as mine was a disaster as well! I am so happy that you shared the type of plastic you used instead as I haven't tried again since my failure. I am excited to try again now. 🙂
Beautiful! I bought some KITOSUN 4inch Uplight Lamp Round LED Base Vase Light with 9 Super Bright LEDs for Centerpiece Vase Lighting Decoration Operated by 3aa Batteries White Lights (Black) from Amazon, to put underneath the resin sculptures when I first do mine.....so that the pieces will be illuminated better!
Hi, that saran wrap I can't even use it to wrap a sandwich without it messing all up, that stuff is a big disaster. I don't blame you a bit for not working on that one. The other three are gorgeous... just absolutely gorgeous. When you put the alcohol ink on the red one, then you torched it, I thought for sure that it was going to catch on fire. Thank heavens it didn't. I enjoyed watching your video very much, thank you for sharing
Your bowls are gorgeous, I cannot decide which I like best. I haven't seen any of your newer videos, but may I make a suggestion? I too was having a horrible time with cling wrap, and a friend suggested ibuse something thicker, so I did the Ziploc bag like you and I still didn't like it. I went to the hardware store and talked to the guy in the paint department and eureka!!! I found a product I could live with...it is clear painters drip shield. It is thicker than cling wrap, but thinner than zip bags. I hope this helps. You've done a wonderful job with you bowls. 💜
That cling film or saran wrap is difficult but if you grease your dish or pan with something like hand lotion or vaseline first, then add the wrap, you can make it stay put where you want it...that is if you should even want to try it again. lol The final dishes are very pretty!
LornaH great advice. I think I prefer contact paper because it has no wrinkles and is really working for me lately. I appreciate your feedback and thanks for watching 🌸
Tried one with ksresin myself... unfortunately before I watched your video lol. I think it sat too long and I used too many shells... we shall see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for this video though cause it was super helpful to see what didn’t work and the times that work best.
Very pretty and thank you for showing the problem child! Not everything is roses n unicorns lol. Also, something to keep into account is the weather. Most resin's the weather temp must be over 70 degrees or it won't cure right. Hope I will be brave enough to try this one day lol...Merry Christmas and Happy New Years...debs from Texas
Loved watching you make these bowls. The bowls are gorgeous. I'm in love with making these fascinating bowls. Everyone is unique. I've never tried using a zip-lock bag as a liner, I did try a garbage though and didn't like results. I use non shrinking cellophane wrap mostly. My timing varies depending on room temp, resin brand used and whether or not I warm my resin prior to use. I use ClearCast 7050 mostly.
lol loved the vlog...it happened to me as well...a big blob and it heated up too...more shows like this I love...how much resin did you use when pouring on to the tray????
Jules Madison ArtPreneur YAY!! Looking forward to it. I have a brand new beautiful pour that I just noticed a possible split. Plus what looks like a gash from where I tried to bend it on a three day cured one 😁
Just so beautiful! I did one and it may have been too sticky, because it dripped more down the sides and left “waves”. Did it put it over the glass too soon?
Margaret Perry yes that has happened to me several times but even the drippy ones are beautiful. Each brand of resin is different so make notes on each brand on drying times. I would suggest doing 3 different drying times an hour apart. Good luck and I hope this makes sense 🌸🌸🌸
I not only love your art but your accent. It takes care of me missing family. Your dialect sounds like my cousin. She lives in Preston by Manchester. The rest of my family is all over the UK originated in Sleaford Lincolnshire. Might I ask from where you originate?
Elizabeth Alvarado Tricky one! I think your resin was too cured and you perhaps forced it over the shape that you wanted to mold it over. It has happened to me before and is infuriating 😡. You can fix it if you are very advanced in resin art by painting the crack until it meets then sanding and rest the whole thing again. Or throw it away and learn from your mistakes. Good luck and thanks for watching 🌸
If you had left the first one flat maybe you could have added a couple of cabinet door handles to it before it was all the way hardened and used it as a serving tray.
Beautiful. So you used a baggie instead of plastic wrap? And I tried one today and went to test it after 2 hours, and it was too hard to bend it. I poured a little into a mold for a pendant and it was as soft as could be. It is not a "quick" resin.
Tara Lynn it’s really trial and error getting to know your resin regarding the time you leave it before you mold it. Each resin is different and now I have settled on one I’m going to get to know well. Temperature and humidity plays a large part too. I hate plastic wrap. I have a video coming out this week and you will see I probably left the resin an hour too long but managed to save it. It’s all a learning curve. Best of luck and thanks for watching 🌸
The 'failure' I would have flattened it back out, poured a clear top coat over the wrinkles and made it into a wall hanging or the centerpiece plate for a plant to rest on top of, to catch water when you watered it.
Your first mistake was measuring the Resin by a scale, with Kresin and other epoxies, you need to use a measuring cup not a scale due to the A part and B part do NOT weigh the same - 🤷🏻♀️. However, thank you so much for your videos and your tips!!!
Artist Lofts no I just left it an out too long. Tip for you. Get digital. Ditch the jugs and cups my friend and hook up with some 2020 digital scales- new school 😬 it makes resin so much easier. Thank you for watching 🌸. I really appreciate your feedback.
I have only done these with handiwrap, and it has been exactly as horrible to use as you found it. It got stuck into the folds, it wrinkled up and made creases in the bowl....yuck. I haven’t done any since. I’m going to try again, now that I’ve seen you make suck gorgeous vessels.
It is a heavy duty plastic on a roll that decorators use to cover flooring. I found it in the hardware store in the paint section. Thanks for watching 🌸
kristina llamas I don’t use cling wrap. I use heavy plastic covering that painters use to cover floors and furniture or contact paper (shiny side up without peeling off the backing)
You had me from first video watched! My jaw dropped when I saw your bowls.
Julia Richards Thank you 😊 and thanks for watching 🌸

The disaster looks like it would have possibilities as a base for a bigger work. Nice videos . Well produced and enjoyable
Robert Jerome Daly Thank you. It went to resin heaven. I was in a decluttering moment. Thanks for watching 🌸
I put votives in my little bowls. I’ve been doing clear ones with crystals and the flame of the candle illuminates e little mirrored crystals.
Brenda Gurley Another great idea!! Thanks for watching 🌸
This is one of the best video's I've seen. You are a riot! They are stunning. Maybe one day I will try this.
victoria wolfe hahaha. Thanks Victoria! Appreciate your comments and for watching 🌸
This is amazing...I love this so much...maybe I will try to make something. Thank you.Best wishes.

CHARMAIN CRAWFORD Absolutely!! You cannot improve unless you fail. It’s a life lesson. Thanks for watching Charmain 🌸
TOTALLY ADOWABLE! Do you have a video on how to repair splits and gashes like from when the resin starts to split? Thank YOU!
Lily Cessna funny you should say that. I’m about to make a quickie in repairing one that split. Stay tuned 🌸

Wonderful!🌸
A zip lock bad for this do you cut it at the seems so that it's bigger or just use bag as is?
How about using a silicon mat. I use a thin thin silicon mat and it is gorgeously shiny after de-molding.. Great work.. Love it and thanks for sharing

For the disaster one you can pour a thin layer of resin again and make it smooth and reusable. My personal experience.

Thank you Monica🌸. Love your channel and your diversity
Monica Barnes Art let’s make a plan!
Hi...i am feom India pls let me know how to calculate the quantity of resin for resin bowl for flat surface
I don’t calculate but for this bowl it was approximately 15 fluid ounces.
@@JulesMadisonArtByDesign thank u dear!

hi whats the plastic type used as a base in all this free form art you did?
