    Can you see the edges of the waterslide the same way you can tape once the resin is on? Thanks.

    • @MimiJocelynDesigns
      @MimiJocelynDesigns  2 роки тому

      The majority of the time, no, you can’t really see the edges. If it is visible after epoxy, that’s most likely do to poor application or not placing the waterslide on top of a non-sanded glossy surface. I personally have not used tape under my epoxy so I don’t know what that looks like. I hope that helps. Let me know if you’re still unclear from my explanation & I can help troubleshoot any issues you may be having. TFW!

    i tried printing a photo on the glossy side. Used Epson ET 2400 printer. I opened the PNG from downloads folder and used "photo on Photo Paper Glossy". I dont get good quality printed. Any software in specific you use for printing?

    • @MimiJocelynDesigns
      @MimiJocelynDesigns  8 місяців тому

      On my Epson printer, I normally choose “Presentation Matte” but idt it really matters cos it never matches my print settings in my computer. To get a good quality print, you have to make sure that the resolution of your photo is pretty high. Any resolution less than 300 dpi will not be of good print quality. I do all my work in Adobe Photoshop before I print. Hope that helps. Good luck.

    How long do the Decals last? Are they dishwasher safe?

    • @MimiJocelynDesigns
      @MimiJocelynDesigns  Рік тому

      The decals are not permanent by themselves. They’ll be as durable as the sealant you use. Unless used under epoxy, they would not last nor would they be dishwasher safe since most tumblers are not dishwasher safe if they contain any amount of stainless steel. What do you plan on using the waterslide paper on? What substrate?

    • @nicoleding5572
      @nicoleding5572 Рік тому

      @@MimiJocelynDesigns I was hoping that this would work on ceramic mugs, as an alternative to the cricut heat press and sublimation. Do you have to use a sealant or does baking seal the decals in? What sealants do you recommend other than epoxy? Thanks :)

    • @MimiJocelynDesigns
      @MimiJocelynDesigns  Рік тому

      @@nicoleding5572 Without a sealant, waterslides will not withstand any type of use. It would simply peel off or disintegrate. The only other alternative to using epoxy would be using Brite Tone from Crystalac. I personally have never used it myself but many tumbler artists do that cannot tolerate epoxy. Maybe also look into coating the entire cup with a few coats of dishwasher safe mod podge. Hope that helps! Good luck.

    Do always reverse print all decals such as pictures of people?

    • @MimiJocelynDesigns
      @MimiJocelynDesigns  6 місяців тому

      It’s personal preference if you want to reverse print your decals at all if you’re using clear waterslide paper. It depends if you plan on applying it with the print face down or face up. I hope that helps. TFW!

    • @charlesball9977
      @charlesball9977 24 дні тому

      @@MimiJocelynDesigns When you did the reverse how did the decal stick if you stuck the side down that you sprayed with the clear how did it stick? Did you use any setting solution?

    • @MimiJocelynDesigns
      @MimiJocelynDesigns  24 дні тому

      @@charlesball9977 If you reverse apply the decal, the waterslide decal will temporarily stick to your surface from both the decal and your substrate being wet. It’s very important to get out all the water in between the 2 surfaces otherwise bubbles will appear. After the waterslide decal completely dries, it’s best to seal it onto your substrate with an acrylic sealer. I normally epoxy after my sealer dries so it permanently adheres to my substrate. I hope that helps. Let me know if you still have questions.
      I will also be posting a new video soon as an update to this video. I’ll be answering many questions that people have been having so hopefully that will help you as well.

      Your decal shouldn’t turn any color when spraying the clear spray. Did you make sure your print out was completely dry before sealing it?
