- Got our parts kit in for the John Deere 2010, this kit included points, condenser, rotar, cap, wires, and plugs. Kit comes from Yesterdaystractors for those wondering. Replaced the points and condenser which did not look too good, old wires were starting to develop some cracks, old plugs didn't look too bad though.

Basic trouble shooting totally escapes you, oh and nice when you slammed the float down on the tailgate, had to stop watching when it became obviously clueless
My 2010 is positive ground. The wire carrying current to the coil attaches to witch terminal on the coil. A negative ground system it would attach to the positive coil terminal. Does the positive ground system change it to the negative terminal??
That’s a good question, I do not know.
I have enjoied this series on the 2010. I have a carb issue 2 rebuilds later and I think I am going to do away with the MS carb and just buy a new zenith and put on. dont know what else to try
Points and condenser good?!
The trick that enabled the tractor to start which you didn't point out was tightening the nut on the side of the distributor where the wire from the coil enters. Most people never check that. ALWAYS check that, if your tractor has that connection on the side of the distributor. THAT IS THE TRICK THAT MAKES 'EM START! Replacing the plugs and all the distributor parts is fine but you can do a poor man's tune up and eliminate that expense just by cleaning the plugs and points with fine sand paper. Check out my video "how to get your 4 cylinder tractor to start".
G'day Randy Congratulations on getting the John Deere 2010 Gas started 👍 also as the high speed sections were playing I was singing 🎙Don't stop don't stop hey hey hey 🎙 lmao 😂 😂 😂
Thank you for all of these 2010 videos! They've really helped me gain some knowledge before tearing into my grandpa's old 2010. Ordered a carb rebuild kit, inline fuel filter, sediment bowl rebuild, and some other odds and ends.
One suggestion....I was looking for a playlist with all of your 2010 videos in one spot. Do you have a playlist? Thanks
I actually do yes! As long as you don’t have to do any major work the 2010 is a nice little tractor! ua-cam.com/play/PLuP4ATDt_8cQDaA8_FUBttqmdip2y03Ik.html
Have you ever tried to remove the radiator?? I have a JD 1020 and underneath tractor part of the bold on both sides is really close to the subframe of the tractor. Looking for tips to get bolts out
No, so I’m not sure.
Sounds like its running good! Now time its time for the big project, the 2-cylinder, lol
Yea that one might be a much bigger project.... she’s froze up solid!
Looks like u might have the split rockshaft. If u do, u need both hydraulic levers fwd to raise.
1 is raise, the other sets height of raise i believe. So that may be why your 3pnt didnt raise farther. Middle lever was down
Ah ok, thanks!
@@radozeman also....lower left side of seat near base platform theres 2 small levers for 3pnt hydraulics. One is draft control and has float and draft, the other is for if u run the rockshaft as dual or split rockshaft which allows Either lift arm to run independent of the other like for when you have a front and rear mounted cultivator you can raise and lower either independently of the other. Kinda unique feature that these 2010s had. Some had split rockshafts, others didnt. But the middle dash and right dash levers run left and right rocker arms independently when in dual setup via the floorplate selector lever and a pin in left rocker arm.
Claims to be John deere and Ford man, has k10 Chevy next to John deere, was anyone else expecting a lightning strike at any moment lol
K10 chevy? You mean the Ford Ranger?!
RDAllen if that's the ranger then I must be blind as a bat lmao I coulda swore it was an 80s k10
Sweet glad to see her run, now get it back in 1 place and go have some fun :)
Exactly
Good job! Just keep pluggin away at her. Good winter project.
thanks!
Could you show me where the voltage regulator is located please Mine is missing
Its mounted behind the plate by the fuel tank, you'll have to remove the cover over the dash/steering area.
@@radozeman thank you I bought an old 1964 industrial John Deere have been replacing a lot of broken and missing parts has been sitting a lot of years too
Congratulations!!!!!
now it just needs pressure washed
and a new seat
Exactly!
where's your safety flip flops
Its COLD out!
