Hey Brad. What I like about this video is the pain you show towards the end. Not schadenfreude on my side - just respecting your honesty. As you know, that’s poker. Like a game of chess, one miss-step messes everything up. Sh!t of a game sometimes!!

Just take a trip to the nearest casino to you with a poker room. most 1-2 1-3 games are very fun and if you are even half decent you can make money, break even or lose a little. Either way there aren't many players that are sharks trying to outplay you on every hand. Sorry if this went long lol. Im just trying to give a fellow poker player friendly advice. If you love poker and truly have a desire to play, go for it. You won't regret it.

I really appreciate the insights you share in your commentaries. Best poker vlog I've seen.
One thing I don't get about the overbet with with straight holding 78 is that Casey checked on the turn, so he wasn't that strong, so I would think he'd unlikely call Pot or more but you know him quite well. A little over half pot or maybe 3/4 could get a call more chips. Who knows, it may induce a raise if closer to half pot. I've been doing the same lately, and I think to myself I maybe chased away some extra money. ;)

Hey Brad - really enjoy your videos. Quick question for you as I just noticed it in this vide for the first time: how do you decide how much to tip after you win a pot? I play a local 1/2 game and it can vary pretty wildly among the players. Mostly based on the overall size of the pot, but was curious to hear if you have any set system or if it is just sort of random.

well i commented before I watched until the end... its refreshing to hear you be candid about your start in poker and how the struggles can be overwhelming, I agree the losing can get you mentally which is the hardest thing to conquer in order to be a winning player. I also agree its a difficult profession to try and take on as just being at a poker table can be stressful with the amount of degenerates that play the game and make it almost unbearable at times due to their antics and behaviors, I am just a rec player and find it stressful just trying to stay positive at the table and cant imagine trying to do it as a profession. I wish you good luck.

Say you go to a table and win a BIG hand right away and don't know you really want to stick around and want to max your profits, how long should you stay without doing a hit and run??? On the AQc hand (14 mins into the video) on the turn you say that checking leaves the door open for him to bomb river as a bluff as if that's a bad thing. I just feel that would be a good outcome. Like what hands are you really scared of at that point in the hand? He most likely doesn't have a King or a set. It's risky but I'm inclined to let the villain bluff off his stack there on a ton of river cards.
    Great content though as always!

I remember the exact situation I stopped playing professionally as well. In charlestown casino. Last 300 from my bankroll. I said before I started playing that if I lose, I'm done. I flopped the nuts with AQ suited after I raised it preflop. Got it all in on the turn with four to a flush somehow when I had the second nuts. 97 suited made the straight flush. I turned over first and said I have the nuts in a timid way trying to be nice to the person who called expecting to win. He said I have a flush too, and then says, oh, I have a straight flush and scooped the pot. The worst part? He almost folded because he didn't know he had a straight flush at first. I didn't know it at the time how rare that situation happens in cash games and should have given myself a little slack at the time. Reason I was broke? Lending people money that didn't pay back and losing a couple of sessions thinking I would just make the money back I loaned out. Learned a lot of big life lessons back then and plan on going back to professional play when my kid is older .

Been following since your videos in the 40s or 50s? Memory is the 2nd thing to go. Most channels have fabulous prizes at different subscriber counts. :D :D Keep up the great work!
BTW, in Austin, which is better, Perry's or 3 Forks? Going in Feb. for 50th.

i made it boys, i can crush 1/2 and 2/5 tables pretty steadily.. i called out all the villains hands before I were able to see it. I put the villain on A T against his KK when he called and then 4 5 when he called 250 more. just excited that im able to have a decent read and realized I upped my poker skills.

So call me stupid, but I'm not a gambler obviously... I just really enjoy your vids because you are very adept at explaining your thoughts as you vlog each hand that's interesting. I wouldn't know what or where to bet anything, which might just come in handy against guys who know their stuff and "expect" certain things and I would be all over the place, probably busting out quickly, but who knows. Anyway, the question is, I always see you "tip" the cage, either cash or chips. How do you know how much to tip and why? I mean the cage people didn't do anything but cash you out. Just wondering is all.

Brad I play poker a lot at local Casino and I like to learn. how you read the opponents like you, how you read them by how they bet or body reactions or by how you know the players and love to learn because I watch your you tube channel a lot I think you are very good

    Curious question:
I feel like a lot of times the video ends with “we had X at the high point”
When you tripled your stack a few hours in why not leave??

Like that you share the not so glamorous side. It isn't always roses. It seems you may want to adjust for those that lay in wait for you to overvalue in some spots. It's almost as if they are waiting for particular spots. I am sure you have figured that out already, but I feel important now that I said it. 😊

Given the delay on the vlogs, is there a place where we can find out about upcoming meet up events, etc. with sufficient lead time to possibly attend?
