    Bart, I'm pretty lurky here. But I've watched every video of yours for the last couple years.
    I changed from live to online around Covid, but even though I haven't been in a live game in a few years now, I've still learned so much about this game from you and this channel.
    Hand reading, thinking thru a hand, hearing all the different perspectives of callers, your input, I've gotten alot from this channel.
    This is just a note of thanks. I appreciate what you offer to us all, and CLP is the best Poker strategy Podcast I've found. Thank you Bart, Blessings to you and your family 🙏

    Bart, could you do a survey of "When Duces Won" and analyze a number of hands and how they are played for the win and how and why they were a winner in each case - position, pot size, etc ... factors which affect these outcomes? I personally find myself playing 2s like I would Aces, very aggressive in order to chase people away from the river, etc... while hoping to see quads eventually. It is never a very "zen" hand. And i've only won with Duces when I do flip a set or quads. There must be a better way of playing 2s and 3s for that matter.

    The 7,8s hand that was opened I thought was ok to do. Raising there with that hand allows you to have a polarised range for raising. The call after the re-raise was questionable but realistically perhaps there is a percentage where you should call after an open raise.

    I was playing poker relatively tight but when I got a flush draw, I bet 1/2 the pot on the flop, 1/2 the pot on the turn, and when I drew a blank on the river, I put in an oversized bet and lost the hand showing I was capable of bluffing. I got pocket 5’s pre-flop, then on the flop, I got a set of 5’s with a board of A58. I bet 150% of the pot figuring it will look I don’t want to get called and expecting an Ace hand to call me. My thought was that I can make it look like I am bluffing while simultaneously building the size of the pot. That move failed and my opponent laid down A10. Why did my attempt to represent a bluff fail against an opponent with top pair and medium kicker?

    • @Kwirts
      @Kwirts 3 місяці тому

      Even if you had a relatively loose image, you are repping 2 pair or better, and ace ten would have 5 outs in most scenarios and could also be dominated. Also, missed flush draws are really obvious bluffs to most live players. Another thing, if your bluff was in a 3bp vs a srp matters a lot just bc the money value of the bluff makes people see your image differently

    Its funny, when I was learning to play I went to a web forum and was talking about how I believed that A high flops were often more dangerous than others given that weak aces made up such a huge part of the opponents range in 1/2. I basically got laughed at by the community there because they saw that I was seeing monsters under the bed, so-to-speak. Really funny to hear it so matter of fact in a training.

    Florida is a rake now $6 + $1 or +$2..... the recs loooove the high hand promos. The high hand doesn't impact a good player's game as you hit it to compensate for the take.
    rake vs drop is a huge difference. Assuming you play just ~25% of your hands per hour at a live 8 or 9 handed game and win ~1/3rd of your hands that's a brutal $13 to $18 an hour stripped from your winrate assuming $200 stacks. If the table is short the game is unbeatable with a drop.

    •  Місяць тому

      What does drop mean here? I haven't followed poker in 15 years. I thought drop means fold. 😊

    • @FuzzypupPoker
      @FuzzypupPoker 7 днів тому

      This is a rake.... 10%, $6 max.... You raise $10, 2 players call. The pot is $30... the dealer takes 10% = $3 and won't take more than $6. Now the pot is $27
      This is a drop..... $7 drop....... You raise $10, 2 players call. The pot is $30... the dealer takes $7 on the flop. Now the pot is $23.
      It makes a HUGE difference.

      @@DatAceTho putting another A on the board removes about 33% of all possible A-x combinations. If you weigh more towards suited A-x, it removes even more than that
      So with 33% less A-x out there, you need the remaining A-x to bet 50% more often than before in order to see the same frequency of betting from A-x on the river. Given the action, that number seems hard to get to. Many Aces with a pair or straight draw bet that flop, so you're really only talking about A-2, -3, -10, as I feel like you'd see a good amount of C-bets from A-J+
