I am happy you made a video for this wonderful plant fibre. When we were young we used to take bath with this natural loofah only. And it used to make us feel so fresh and rejuvenated. I started missing it badly once we moved to cities. Keep going Anuj
It used to grow in my garden. I and my grandmother dried it and used it as loofah. I have never actually used a plastic one because after using the tori loofah you won't like the plastic one.
It's a very familiar thing for me. My grandmother & mother have used it. Some of TORI/JHINGA used to be left to mature & dry naturally. Then seeds used to be extracted for the next season & the leftover was the loofah. How eco-friendly & multipurpose was everything that used to be grown! Unfortunately, we have now shifted to plastic loofah. I hope, we shall return to our root very soon, perhaps, in a new way.
Yes. I regularly used this loofah. We called it " bhol sasraa". Bhol is the vegetable name in Assamese. This vegetable is very tasty. Here in Assam, one can buy 2 PC in rs 10 or 5 PC in rs 20. And its really long lasting. I used singleone for last 3 to 4 months. Just remember to dry it after use. Good if it is sun dried. Fur better thn plastic loofah. Easily dried by air also.
bengalis use this lofa daily 😂...i visit UP for wedding ceremony...on morning bath i used this .. surrounding people astounded after seeing that natural lofa...since then they started using natural lofa
Turi or turai. We Sindhis have been using it for ages. Even before it got popular. It's available easily in Khar West in Mumbai at the Sindhi provision stores outside the railway station. I go there for all my Sindhi stuff.
Ah I remember you now once my teacher sends a video of yours related to some thing plastic it's a good one. And I found your channel once more and now I am going to watch all your videos your content is really informative and thanx for being on this platform.😃
Hamare gaon .me isko hi use karte the...kaafi saalon se..sab kuch eco friendly...but logon ko ye sab out of fashion lgta h ..cz they need to follow western culture without any knowledge 🙏🏼thnkuu sir for awareness 🙏🏼
This natural loofahs are produced by drying Sponge gourd which is similar in taste to ridge gourd when it is tender, used to make different Currys & fry sometimes.
Ofline kaise milega ye .......online to minimum 4 quantity lena hoga ....for 1 quantity there is 8 pieces...... total 32 ..............can anyone tell me which market should i go ?
This natural loofa is very common for many of us. We use it even today. Plastic loofas r nothing in comparison with this natural one. It is only brands like Lux and all that promoted plastic loofa with Katrina being featured using such plastic ones.
In my childhood, my mother used to bathe us with this... As we had this plant at our home. But when we grow up, we shift toward fancy plastic one... A few years back, a girl said she has purchased organic loofah... I told about this to my mom and she taunted that "free me ghar pr ug rha tha to bazaar se lene gyi... Ab ye bhi market me milne lga"
Proud to use natural loofah. ....i never use plastic one.....1 thing more, i don't think it's ridge gourd, it is similar but a wild variety which is actually bitter, that's why it is(& was ) used in cleaning purpose. .... It z called " pitaa taradaa" in Odia, whereas ridge gourd is called "janhi" ....

I have seen many farmers had grown it but later left it to rot on the soil. Reason : No proper way to sell it directly for less commision.
