A lot of guy that have been farming for many years find it hard to change. I love how the Ginge has so much wisdom and experience but he is always open to new ideas and technology that grow the farm and make it better.
Impressive.Finnegans farm in Ireland is similar size, not as many industries. They have potatoes, sprouts, hay ,silage, large workshops ,one of the best I've seen, food factory.Worth a look. They operate about 30 tractors plus all the usual farm machinery.
Just incredible. Google Maps can’t even keep up to the farm growth. They have some skilled workers too. The guys backing up the forage wagons. Brilliant. What a facility. No doubt you’re both inspired fro going there. I wasn’t even there, and I’m feeling inspired. Thanks for bringing us along Tom.
I deliver to truck technics several times a day and I always thought Tom Pemberton would love this place. I am glad now I have seen the whole place and I always wondered what the cranes were doing, now I know. Thank you Metcalfe Farm's for showing us around.
You know when you (Tom) looked out of the window when going past the Tri - Axel, looked just like the scene from Jurassic park with the kid's going past the tyranasaurus enclosure , amazement 😮😂❤
Thanks for the video Tom. WoW a farm with its own quarry, and all the rest is crazy big. So many tractors, trucks, and machine shops. Oh my!! I learned a cool cow is a happy cow and the methane digester thing makes electricity as well is mad cool .
Wow! What a great vlog thanks Tom. I could be there every day for a year and I'd still find new things to impress me. The size of that clamp, 70 litres output a day per cow (give or take), the skill of the chopper and trailer operators, the wagons..... Fantastic! Thanks to Penny for organising it too. Stay well all 👌🏻
That’s a massive operation. They have their hands into so many different things and it all seems to work so well. So much equipment, and cattle. I would imagine that their operation is worth millions. It was a very interesting tour, I enjoyed it very much.
I absolutely loved this video, thanks to you and to Metcalfe and to Steve (what an incredible asset to the operation at Metcalfe). The knowledge that Steve had of the operations was astounding, you couldn't have asked for a better representative to take you round. I was in complete awe as to how they utilize the land (3200 acres I thought he said) and how diverse it is as a whole. Wonderful job! he was a complete charmer ❤
Tom I live 8miles from Metcalfe farms plus Metcalfe’s of Metcalfe farms are distant relations of mine even though they don’t know it. All Metcalfe’s/Metcalf’s are all related and all stem from Nappa Hall in Wensleydale we had an ancestor called Captain James Meltcalf who fought against the French at Agincourt in 1425 he took 300 men from Wensleydale to fight a long side Henry 5th,my Gt Gt grand father who I am the spitting image of was called William Metcalf 1815-1897
Diversification can be the key to survival and success, but the level demonstrated here, on a literal industrial scale, is mind boggling. Looks like a fantastic operation, the cows are rockstars, and the skill level of the equipment operators…just wow! I often lead with a disclaimer that “reverse is not my best gear,” yet Metcalfe have a driver racing around an obstacle course of a field in reverse while chasing the chopper and another one also reversing in to replace them…I stand humbled!! 😂
I've been past their gate hundreds of times and thought it was a big set up but that's just blown my mind. Thanks Tom for taking us on the tour with you
i love this video, it seems like tom has no idea what they are talking about, they're farming completely different, where tom is farming milk he's listening to people farming energy . different scales that show how amazing our food chain is
Lovely to see your sister and her family. That little nugget is just adorable. Thank you for bringing us along on this ride. I'm astounded at the size of this farm. Holy moly!
That's an immensely huge set up with all those small industries combining into basically one. When I see the heavy lift trucks on the motorway I've always thought oh that was a family farm that's closed down and diversified into a heavy haulage outfit.
Phenomenal farm set up, I see there lorries most weeks back and forth through my local town heading to Tidworth and Salisbury plain, then back loaded with tanks and military hardware, must be a lucrative contract, thanks Tom for sharing
Wow one of your best videos Tom obviously Metcalfs are big in the haulage industry, assume you were referring to their MOD Movement business/ contract as they are the main hauliers for the MOD VEHICLE MOVEMENT. To being able to see or discuss everything Tom. I assume they fetch their novapro from YELO enterprise near Stratford upon Avon, we haul loads out of there for k w alternative feeds to our depot to put in mixes for their customers around Staffordshire, Cheshire,Shropshire etc. We also produce sodawheat for them. Never knew their farm was that big at all. Very interesting and mind blowing all in one. Thanks for the video. Mammoet main UK site is down the road from our depot in hixon on the airfield.
Thanks Tom for the mini tour, I had heard of Metcalves and knew it was a big operation but had no idea it was a massive operation with so many sub businesses involved and on site., Great way to end with tractor driver following the forager in reverse.
i see this as a boost for pemberton farming ! i hope they grow the farm like this farm does ! come on tom you can do this. 9:12 start a sillage/fermintation unit. a little farmer here in my area started it to and every year its getting bigger and bigger
Great video Tom. My bro drives for them on the HGV side and also used to work there on the farming contracting side. He still hasn't got me a tour like this though, lol. Keep up the good work, awesome content mate.
Wow , that is massssivvveee. I watched an American dairy unit that just filled artic tanks rather than a bulk tank. Did not know that happened here. Not sure I like the 37% heffers, sounds like it is hard on the cows. But I am no expert. Great to see your Sister Penny and family 😊
I Fitted Metcalfes Rope scrapers last year 24 passages worth. Apart from going every hour on the clock. He does no to bad on his ropes. Rope scrapers are simple to maintain and fix. I do remember a comment a while back about a certain cow brush and how it was good because it didnt have electric motors on it. What happened next there was a electric automatic cow brush on farm. 😂 Simple to change minds when its being offered for half price.
Tom's favourite new word is 'WOW' 😂 Great video. Very interesting to see farming on a big scale but clean and good for the environment. To see healthy animals producing a wonderful nutritious product is fantastic. In my view, Metcalf Farms should be applaud for their business practices 👍👏and its something to aspire to be for smaller farms too. 👏 All the best Pemberton Family. 😊
Hi Tom and family, This is the first time I’ve put any thing up , I have been watching your videos for a few years now this was a great video as yours are I shell I hope be watching 👀 for many years to come thank you, Take care of of yourself and stay safe.⭐️⭐️👍👍🐄🐄
Tom...''a kick in the pants to get on and do something'' ⁉...You and your Father have been kicking ass for years now ‼give my love to Joanna and little Pemberton😁
Brilliant video Tom,I never even knew Metcalf farm way actually a farm, never mind a massive farm and quarry like this, and being a lorry driver, always fancied a job with them, would love a go at the heavy haulage, but living in Scotland would hold me back, but well impressed with this set up
A lot of guy that have been farming for many years find it hard to change. I love how the Ginge has so much wisdom and experience but he is always open to new ideas and technology that grow the farm and make it better.
Your dad is so enthusiastic, he is absorbing information like a sponge.
Incredible farm. Steve's knowledge of the place is unbelievable, great video Tom.
Impressive.Finnegans farm in Ireland is similar size, not as many industries. They have potatoes, sprouts, hay ,silage, large workshops ,one of the best I've seen, food factory.Worth a look. They operate about 30 tractors plus all the usual farm machinery.
Country crest is bigger operation with hundreds of staff
Where are they based.@@tommurphy3544
Just incredible. Google Maps can’t even keep up to the farm growth. They have some skilled workers too. The guys backing up the forage wagons. Brilliant. What a facility. No doubt you’re both inspired fro going there. I wasn’t even there, and I’m feeling inspired. Thanks for bringing us along Tom.
well of course, they update every 3 years
What a great video Tom. It was so interesting seeing farms on a mega scale
What an incredible farm. Having an on-site vet practise must be amazing!
The amount of knowledge in Steve’s brain, the man could run a country. He impresses me as much as the farm.
That farm was HUGE! The drone shot was incredible…and showed just how large the infrastructure alone was. Unbelievable!
The next generation of Pemberton Farms…Henry and Harvey. Henry is MAD for tractors, so cute.
Love this channel iv had no interest in farming until I came across Tom's videos 😊 what a guy
I deliver to truck technics several times a day and I always thought Tom Pemberton would love this place. I am glad now I have seen the whole place and I always wondered what the cranes were doing, now I know. Thank you Metcalfe Farm's for showing us around.
You know when you (Tom) looked out of the window when going past the Tri - Axel, looked just like the scene from Jurassic park with the kid's going past the tyranasaurus enclosure , amazement 😮😂❤
must be nice to be on a farm that doesnt flood... cheers hope the family is doing well - happy holidays and a Merry Christmas Tom
This should be a monthly thing u do. We love this
Having followed the Pembertons it was pleasing to understand everything Steve had to say - a very impressive set-up.
Thanks for the video Tom. WoW a farm with its own quarry, and all the rest is crazy big. So many tractors, trucks, and machine shops. Oh my!! I learned a cool cow is a happy cow and the methane digester thing makes electricity as well is mad cool .
What am amazing farm/business, awesome skilled drivers
No matter how big you think you are their is always someone bigger and more ruthless!.
Inspiring but remember how much you and your dad have achieved. Keep building, you’re an awesome pair with the rest of your team
WOW Tom youve made farming so much more interesting, total respect to our farming industry❤
Stay well all 👌🏻
Funny you should mention the bucket brush. Olly Blogs did yesterday. One year and counting!
That’s a massive operation. They have their hands into so many different things and it all seems to work so well. So much equipment, and cattle. I would imagine that their operation is worth millions. It was a very interesting tour, I enjoyed it very much.
One word to describe this Tom
'WOW'
Wow! Awesome seeing businesses combining to help one another grow.
Love and prayers 😇💜
Steve is a very knowledgeable chap 👍
Wow.
Best farming video I've seen in years.
I think we can all be inspired by this regardless of our size....👍👍
Geesh... that is quite the operation!
Tom that was absolutely mind blowing to see a set up like that. It must inspire you and your dad. Thanks for a great blog.
That was an impressive tour. Henry was having s big day. He is adorable. It is amazing how big some farms have become.
Wow... what a setup. It won't be long Tom, you will be this size before you know it! Thanks for sharing
Tom in all fairness your good but I think your gone ahead off yourself like what sort of video is this to show you have money anyway best of luck
@@edwardconnolly8580It's showing progression - What hard work and perseverance can achieve. Its informative
Holy moly.. What a setup.... Amazing to see thanks for showing
I absolutely loved this video, thanks to you and to Metcalfe and to Steve (what an incredible asset to the operation at Metcalfe).

Sarah metcalfe used to be our main vet when I was on a farm in top of Wiltshire, she always said how massive family farm was
Thanks a lot for taking us round, I learnt a lot. What an operation that is!
Wow ! Blown away with that video, what a great day you must have had.
Wowzers what a fantastic video Tom thank you that was amazing and what those cows are yielding with nearly 40% heifers in the herd is incredible
I love at 13:03 he flicks the Camara off and don't even realize it😂😂

I appreciate that you are focusing on grazing rather than cutting and feeding that way year round. Can't wait to see your paddocks go up.
I loved the video. That place is so huge. It's amazing.
But I like the small farmer's.
Wow! What a set up. What a lot of knowledge that guy has without having to think about it 👍👍
I live down a farm lane and i love the smell we once had a bullock in the front garden so funny watching farmer trying to get him out
i love this video, it seems like tom has no idea what they are talking about, they're farming completely different, where tom is farming milk he's listening to people farming energy . different scales that show how amazing our food chain is
Wow. Speechless. Fantastic video. Thank u.
Great news Tom!! I have been keeping up my dream and finally got offered to work on an open farm up in the NW in February can’t wait!! ❤❤

impressive, thanks for the tour. Barry from Oregon, USA
Amazing! Thank you for sharing!
What an incredible farm. Fabulous vid
I absolutely loved that video Tom ❤️❤️❤️
Impressive set up. I’m sure things can become easier when it’s a massive outfit but the problems/ breakdowns and costs also become bigger.
Cracking video yet again Tom really enjoyed watching the video just keep smashing the video out thanks from bryon
Wow that is some operation. I’ve often seen their wagons hauling big machines. So interesting to see this.
i see this as a boost for pemberton farming ! i hope they grow the farm like this farm does ! come on tom you can do this.

Not sure I like the 37% heffers, sounds like it is hard on the cows. But I am no expert.
Great to see your Sister Penny and family 😊
You think is harder on the cows to produces Bull calves that it is heifers .
Not sure I understand

You know it's a big farm when you take the car around the farm yard 😂
I also had a similar car before
Come to Australia, where the farms are so big they use helicopters to get around and muster the cattle.
Tom...''a kick in the pants to get on and do something'' ⁉...You and your Father have been kicking ass for years now ‼give my love to Joanna and little Pemberton😁
Wow what in informative video Tom. Good to see how farming and diversification can work so successfully.
Brilliant video Tom,I never even knew Metcalf farm way actually a farm, never mind a massive farm and quarry like this, and being a lorry driver, always fancied a job with them, would love a go at the heavy haulage, but living in Scotland would hold me back, but well impressed with this set up
What a great and very interesting video tom thank you
Literally round the corner from me, and when I think about where they came from to where they are now... Now that's forward thinking!
Great video Tom and that’s one heck of a set up and all the different branches off the business and sub business 👏👏👍👍
Fantastic video. No farming links but love it. Thanks everyone. X❤😊
I've just been working there today cladding a new shed there having built.💯💯💯
Impressive setup, helps that they have the space to expand and diversify. Looking forward to what you and your dad have got planned. 👍
That’s some set up I used to love the tv show about the haulage side of metcalfs
I built one of those cow sheds about 20 yrs ago 👍🏼
Holy Cow! That’s some operation! 😮
