    Pretty thorough demo. It’d be convenient. After playing for a while, my cable gets twisted - seems I tend to turn around in the same direction. Then I get dizzy spinning around in the opposite direction to unravel it! So one problem solved.

    Just got 1 of these but for in ears monitors. Gonna use them backwards and send the signal to me from the P A. $39. Also I've been using the AKG bug system for 10 yrs or so. I got velco glued to my Les Paul,12 string, and bass. I got 5 complete systems including a mic hook-up. These Getaria's are for wireless IEM system. Might even get time at the beach with battery amp and 12 string. I did a test back in the day at band practice. During a break I took my guitar up the steps from basement out back door to the end of this property about 200 ft and could easily hear my Pro tube Twin. Didn't need anybody in the middle cause that amp is so LOUD.

  • @fishypaw
    @fishypaw 5 років тому +3

    Geek info ... sound travels 343m/s. So if you're 35 meters away you'll get a 1/10 of a second delay, for the sound to travel from the amp to where your standing. Wireless from guitar to amp = speed of light, so negligible. Yea, I need to get out more. ;)

    • @PooNinja
      @PooNinja 5 років тому +1

      Li-Fi will travel the speed of light but you need a very clear line of sight so slightly slower radio is better for this application :)

    • @fishypaw

    Seems the how secure the connection is in the jack would be more a function of the jack rather than the shape of the guitar.

    • @intheblues

      Yep! But it was worth testing a lot of guitars incase some were worse than others.

    • @BAMozzy69
      @BAMozzy69 5 років тому

      Certainly the output jack on some guitars are not the 'best' and I was surprised that the HB CST-24 was actually reasonable. I expected a similar loose connection as on the HB Tele. At least this worked...

    • @SidBonkers51
      @SidBonkers51 5 років тому +1

      its easy to pop out the output jack on some guitars and tighten the spring connection, some guitars are more tricky to get to but you are right it is the guitars jack socket not the transmitter that is loose.

  • @joeturnip4216

    The "small glitches" in the house were probably caused by "Multipath". i.e.signal reflections from different objects within the house arriving at the receiver at different times and out of phase with each other. The signal strength was probably OK.

      I don't think they would have the audio quality right. I hear these wireless guys actually have to dampen the tone because it comes through too clear, and our collective musical ears have been trained to prefer the diluted signal we hear thru metres of cable. Sounds plausible 😐 ...?

    Shane walking through the forest playing guitar comes across a hillbilly with a shotgun...
    (and in my best southern voice) "What kinda goddamn rifle is that you got there boy? Now squeal like a pig boy - WEEE-hoo!" Queue the dueling banjo's ;)
    I think if you were going to use one of these wireless packs (and you didn't want it flopping around), I'd just replace the guitar jack before putting velcro or double sided tape on my guitar. The pure tone jacks seem pretty good as they clamp the plug on the tip and the ground so it shouldn't spin around. And they're only about $6-7 each.
    BTW You might want to reference it distance and quality wise with a 2.4GHz unit. You'll probably find the 5.8GHz unit won't work as far as a 2.4GHz unit but sound quality wise it may be better.
