I used Xvive with serious dropout at home. You previous video inspired me what to look for and I found Swiff and bought it a few weeks ago. Thanks for your very detailed comparison and inspiration to me. The Swiff system is amazing, dead silent without any noise or dropout again. I highly recommend it to all my friends now.
@Bullets ForTeeth oh really, are you sure it’s the same? I wondered what the difference was as I found those on eBay too and wondered the difference. Have you got them and are they stable?
Hope you guys enjoyed the video. Also, right after posting it, I noticed that Lekato actually has one of these that transmit NOT on 2.4 or 5.8, but it doesn't say which frequency it transmits on. However, it's only $42. I haven't tried it though. Has anyone tried this model? amzn.to/3s4wLgW How well did it work for you? Cheers 🤘Also, don't forget to watch my other "master" video on these plug-and-play wireless systems here: ua-cam.com/video/A2183MfZWgQ/v-deo.html
Hi Scott I ordered this and recieved it today. I was hoping it would be different than the swiff ones but I encountered the same exact problem I mentioned before. The notes that cut out are sounding like they were highly compressed when they're picked hard and like I mentioned before it only happens on the neck pickup. I'm returning it and will be exchanging it for the Rowin 2.4g one.
I was looking @ those! A lil cheaper right?! But since I had good success w/the Swiff’s I’ll probably continue with them. Also, if I sit or kick another pair, I can scavenge from my existing boneyard of Swiff unit’s to make another pair…again😭
I have to assume the Lekato, is the same as the Westshell wireless G7 that is on lightning deal today...and also the Swiff WS-70 model. This is good and bad. The good being that all brands review really well...the bad being that I just ordered the Westshell (since it was on lightning deal) but then realized the Lekato (@ $42) has a 15% off coupon, and the Swiff is $42 with an 8% coupon...thus making the Westshell the most expensive of all 3 despite the lightning deal. Well, if you want to add the Lekato to your collection, now is the time to do it.
@@affordabletechsolutions6917 I actually got one a few weeks ago haha, but I'll be doing a video on it next week sometime (I want to use it at my gigs this weekend first). So far it's great
@@affordabletechsolutions6917 funny you should say that. I just found this video after getting my westshell G7's this week. I plugged them in this morning, and I'm happy with what I'm hearing so far, but it's going to take more trials. Also, our band's wireless mic system runs on UHF frequencies, so we'll see if there is any interference in that aspect.
I saw an ad for the CFG (Cable Free Guitar) C-01 which got me searching for reviews where I found both of your great videos. Thank you for those! They were both very informative. The C-01 is the newly upgraded model to CFG’s A8 wireless system, which incorporates the swivel design that the A8 didn’t have. The A8 is currently on sale for $49.90 (normally $100) and the C-01 is on sale for $74.90 (normally $150). My question about these two units regards frequency. On their website it says both utilizes UHF 730MHz. How does this work with the ranges you have indicated in this video? Thanks, again, for you straight-forward, informative videos! Keep them coming!
So far I've used them in practice sessions only, but I can hear the better sound above the 2.5Ghz Gitarre that are now in the depths of my gig bag. The battery life so far is also better.
@@ScottUhlMusic I bought mine on the strength of your review. I also have an AKG SR40/PT40 which is really good, but the receiver has to be powered. Which is a right pain. My set up consists of just a floor processor which is really a preamp and I already have to find power for that. But having the physical AKG receiver next to it was a right pain. This gizmo doesn't interfere with the Sennheiser wireless mic either. So happy days. I can't hear the difference between my AKG and this gizmo. Uh. I also have a shure wireless in ear monitor and no interference with that either. So I can whole heartedly recommend this gizmo too.
I bought these in May of 2020 and my friends thought I was nuts because they had never heard of it. But I analyze things and don't just buy what everyone else has. When I checked the product specs I liked what I saw and decided there would be no interference issue at almost anywhere I could imagine. I have played for 4.5 hours and still had battery life left on the indicator mark it was at light #2 which is half. But it's feasible that the battery life was about to jump to the next level lower. Anyway, I have not had one drop out or noise of any kind. Use it on electric and acoustic-electric and it is as reliable and good sounding as any cable. I only wish the device that plugs into the guitar was smaller. But they are all relatively large and in time I'm sure like everything it will get smaller. :-)
Thanks for the info. I bought these mainly based on your videos about cheaper wireless systems. Well explained. They'll be here tomorrow.... we'll see how they do.
Thanks, and out of all the wireless I’ve reviewed I think this is probably the first one I would recommend to most people. Especially just for practice at home, it’s a no brainer for sure!
Thanks Scott! I've just purchased the Swiff unit based on your video and the better choice of frequency. I'll let you know how it works out for me. Cheers!
Wow this is great! This was worth watching just for the info about how countries can only use certain frequency's ranges. I'm going to look up more on this. I think the wireless from Swiff seems great the only thing I don't really care for is the green color on it but, not like I would really see it when I would be playing anyway. I'm just really fussy when it comes to color on things. My guitar is the schecter Apocalypse c7 in ash color and if you know that guitar and how it looks you may see why this green color could be the worst looking thing haha. Love the video though need to check out more soon. Keep it up!
great review, your video has a lot of information, i need to buy a wireless guitar system and i decided on this product, thanks for your review. .. I subscribed 👍🏼
Purchased two from your drop down, the amoon and swiss. Will use for my Acoustic. I use Sennheiser's for my Electric. Will let ya know, great video's. .
Hi i don't recommend SWIFF WS-50 - it has nice audio quality, but have something like threshold gate that switchess off signal when you are not playing. But it does it very often and there is latency for reenabling audio, so it sounds like you have compressor on because it cuts first ms of attack. For long notes it is no problem, but playing short ones with pauses shows this issue.
That hasn’t been my experience, but some people like you have said that, which I address in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.htmlsi=hJ02R9S9EcGHe6Zx
Hi Scott thanks for doing so many wonderful reviews! I came across looking for a new wireless system. I I am looking for a new one as the Xvive was broken. Just as I am watching this new review, I found there is the WS-70. I wonder which one is better? 50 or 70? The 70 came over last year so I think it's an updated version.
I actually bought the lekato ws70 (seems to be the exact same thing). I think they both work really well. No complaints for either the ws50 or the 70 to me
I have 3 models: Lekato WS-60 (mono and stereo), Lekato A8, and Swiff Audio WS-50. WS-50 has the best stable connection, but unfortunately the transmitted sound quality is poor. Try playing music through , you will definitely hear that something is wrong.
Mine works great but That can happen sometimes, and I address it in this video here: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
I had a pair of these Swiff, and like one other commenter, they did not work for me. Sounds like there is a badly adjusted noise gate that sometimes pops, cutting off the attack transient and flutters on the note tails. I returned it and got the Lekato 5.8 which is working great with all my guitars and basses, active and passive.
I have the best advice for that in this video: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html But glad you found one that works for you 🤘🤘
Thanks for all the great videos on wireless devices, I've think I've watched most if not all of them (and subscribed too). I wanted to go wireless and ended up selecting this Swiff WS-50. Once I started using it, the background hiss/hum was very obtrusive whenever sound was ringing out (it's quiet when not playing), and I also started experiencing dropouts (sitting 5 ft away). None of these issues happen with my cable. FWIW, I have a Fender Player strat with a Fender Mustang GTX-100 amp (home use). I tried changing channels, re-orienting the units, etc, but this system is unusable for me. Let me know if any other thoughts, I really wanted to like this system but I'll likely be returning it, unfortunately.
First of all, thank you for your comment. Seriously. You described in detail what happened, and said “I might be returning it, but what options to I have.” That is SO refreshing from the usual “this $50 wireless is pure BS… didn’t go over 200 feet at all!” comments that I usually get when someone has a problem with it. So seriously, thank you lol. It could be a defective unit. Especially since you are getting dropouts only 5 feet away. Does it happen in multiple locations? Keep in mind these cheaper wireless have less available channels to find a clear signal (part of why they are so cheap). So it could just be that you are in a crowded environment. For the buzz, are you using any sort of fuzz pedal or anything? I’m always direct, and I use this with my GTRS guitar or with an HX Stomp, so I’m very minimal in my set up and I never have a buzz with these. But sometimes these cheaper ones do not play nice with all setups.
Thanks for this video. Would there be issues running multiple sets of these simultaneously, or should I get different frequency bands if I needed to run 3 at a time?
Then stop looking at cheap wireless. Here’s a great Shure one: ua-cam.com/video/k5OM4GUJNvQ/v-deo.html Here’s the main one l use that is incredible: ua-cam.com/video/rWVF0tv8zCM/v-deo.html I mention constantly in my videos that some of these cheaper ones cannot handle every pickup or amp/pedal setup. I’ve even reviewed one that is specifically designed for active pickups: ua-cam.com/video/FtI8tnW5TeU/v-deo.html This Swiff one seems to work very well with most pickups. But there is no way for me to test them with every combo of pickups/pedal/amp. If these cheap wireless aren’t working for you and your setup……… get a Shure BLXR for $400 👍
Thank you for the excellent vídeo and the precious information about this product. I was going to buy NUX B 2 that is much more expensive. I intend to use Swiff on the L x R output of my keyboard. Can you tell me if they fit without problems?
Hey. Thanks for the review, found it very informative. Do you think you would be able to use multiple of these in the same space (e.g. 2 guitarists and a bass, each using a swiff, doing a gig together). I might have missed something obvious but I don't think this video answered that either way
Sorry if this is a dumb question. It looks like I can plug into my acoustic and then into my LR Baggs anthem DI which is connected to the snake on stage. Does that sound right?
How would two sets of these on stage at the same time work? Would it work or would things potentially get mixed up? Thinking of getting a pair for myself and the other guitarist in the band.
@@ScottUhlMusic I actually ended up getting a pair of these that I had seen on your channel since I last posted a comment. Never ended up getting a second pair, but I can say that they still work after almost a year.
Let me know how it is. That one transmits in 2.4ghz frequency, so be sure to watch my “main wireless” video here to understand a few things about those systems ua-cam.com/video/A2183MfZWgQ/v-deo.html
@@ScottUhlMusic I received the Joyo system in the afternoon and played with it for a while at home. It's very well constructed and worked great, even with our wifi box in the same room as my amps. I walked all around the house and only heard it stumble once. It reports that it will work 8 hours on a single charge, but I haven't had it long enough to prove that. I'll use it at band practice Monday nite, but with my limited use it seems like a solid product, no lag and a good signal. I used my PRS SE Singlecut and my Schecter Damien with active EMGs and both sounded great!
Hey I love my WS-50s! Does anyone know if you can use 2 x WS-50 transmitters and send to 1 x receiver? I was thinking of sending a guitar and a keyboard to my pedalboard rather than using an ABY pedal. Thoughts?
It should. I have not had anyone say it doesn’t work with their active pickups. Just played a show with a bass player friend of mine who has active pickups and bought this one with no issues
I have a Carvin G-5 for my bass works great on passive but sounds like amp is over driven on my 2 active bass guitars. Any idea how to fix this problem?
Part of these cheap wireless is they do not work with every single setup. So you might have to go with a Shure or sennheiser one and spend the money to get a high quality one. These work great for me, but they won’t work with every setup
It’s honestly a bit more confusing than that now, but I personally don’t 100% understand it myself. I’ll have to look into it more. I just have more luck with stuff between 470-600mhz and 5.8ghz. 2.4 just gives me so much trouvle
Ordered the Lekato 2.4 AND the Swiff. Both had noticeable audio quality degradation. The hissssss coming from the Swiff even when idle, made them unusable to me. So unless there is an unfair amount of defective product out there, I find these unusable.
Thanks for your great videos. I bought these WS-50's based on your reviews. I like them, but I have a strange problem I hope you can please help me with. I connect to a small portable speaker's aux input using these WS-50's and a Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp. But when I do that, they stop working every 8 minutes. The green rings are still lighted, but the sound just stops! I have tested with different speakers, and also tested the WS-50's and the Mustang Micro separately. They all work perfectly by themselves. It is only when the WS-50's are connected to the Micro that they stop working after 8 minutes (+ or - a minute). Any ideas on what the problem might be please?
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks for your reply. The Mustang Micro and the WS-50's seem to work perfectly by themselves. It is only when I use them together that the music stops after 8 minutes. I have written to both Swiff and Fender, but was just hoping you might have already heard of the issue.
Reading through those comments takes a realllllllllly long time you know 🤣 But with this system, it works well with active pickups 👍 if for some reason it doesn’t work with your setup, this is the one I recommend instead: ua-cam.com/video/FtI8tnW5TeU/v-deo.html but the swiff audio one should be fine. This is the one I recommend the most and most people seem to have it work great with their setup 👍
I just got those ones and in compare with the amoon 5.8 the swiff audio cut the signal very quick like it has a noise gate built in, i changed the channels and some worked better, but then at restart it goes back to the first channel which is the worst, Don't know if someone else noticed that problem
Yeah, well I'm still testing them at home so no much interference there, anyway the channel 8 its the best one coz the tone last more than the rest , but could be different for someone else like u said , in another hand do u know if the lekato 5.8 its same than the amoon 5.8 coz for me the amoon is the best I've been using it 3 years different countries, and all arround australia so i want another one but the lekato is black and looks better for me
Use with an active pick-up such as an acoustic guitar with a 9vt preamp? Also I use two wireless extension speakers using the xvive wirless system to connect the speakers to my amp. What are your thoughts? I bought a really cheep ($20) wirless system just to play with it. It worked but as soon as I turned on the wireless speakers with the xvive system it started to drop out. Thanks for the great videos!!! Good information.
These should work with active pickups, but I don’t own any guitars with active pickups, so I’m not 100% positive. And yes, you can use these to transmit audio from speakers as well.
Thank you Scott for the quick reply. I really appreciate your feedback. It looks like you tested the units that I purchased for about $20 . They are also advertised to be in the UHF frequency. Are they different than the ones you did this latest video on frequency wise? I’m a restaurant giger. I play fingerstyle acoustic guitar. It would be great to be able to move around the restaurant with one of these units. I just need to find the one that works. The $20 units really don’t work well. I’m willing to give something else a try. Thanks again for your help.
I’m not sure which ones you are using that are $20. The thing is, if you do not have a way to manually change the channel, you just have to go with these ones that either have 1 frequency they transmit on, or when you turn them on they find the clearest channel. If it doesn’t find a clear channel, you are just SOL for that gig. That’s just how they work if you do not have a way to scan or set the channel manually. But for the price point, these are still really amazing units
Can you do wireless one guitar into two amps with that one? Could I have one going {guitar to pedal board}, then another from {pedal board to the amp(s)}?
I’m literally editing a video addressing “does it work with *insert pickup/guitar/pedal/amp*” question right now haha. Best thing you can do with cheap stuff is try it out right away. If it doesn’t work, return it. Don’t want to risk it? Get the more expensive Shure/sennheiser entry level stuff 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks.. hoing to order one tomorrow...I'll let you know how it does fot me ... this is a good test .. my drummer swears I got a weird electric feild because I get latency and sever drop outs ... even with pro units.... fingers crossed
I don’t get the concern with the 2.4ghz network. I’ve had mine for years and never had a single problem. Plenty of other devices using that frequency in the house.
No I haven’t. Good point, I forgot other guitarists actually gig 😂. One question I have about uhf, is the quality the same as 2.4ghz? I want to buy one for my second amp as they are cheaper but I want it to sound good. Thanks
I think they both sound fine for sure. Tone or sound has never been an issue with me between uhf and 2.4. Although it does depend on the wireless of course.
@@ScottUhlMusic I appreciate your response. I’m going to buy one. For some reason I was associating uhf with bad quality audio. I guess it’s the same sort of thing, just a different frequency.
I bought the ws-50 and they suck! There is a gate built-in to block the white noise. Also it fails a lot when using attack from trouble strings. Not happy.
What type of guitar are you using? This one has worked amazing for me and almost everyone else I’ve heard they loved these. BUT…. You also paid $50 for a wireless. Might have to spend the extra money to get a good wireless for your specific setup
I bought one but the ws50 had a overtones after the note that sounded like a fuzz pedal, I contacted Cust service and they said there was no way to do diagnosis virtually and suggested returning the unit, I did and ask for a replacement which arrived within 2 days but again the unit introduced the same after/over tone . I used thru 3 different guitars ( one w/ powered pickup, the other guitars without) and 3 different amps and compared to the cable but it introduce the overtone which each combination. very disappointed because the features and price is great. The only factor I didnt try was take the equipment to a different location to verify the issue wasnt related to something in or around my house. If anyone has encountered this issue and fixed it please let me know, I would go order this unit again. Thanks
Wow that’s really weird. I know that some people have issues with 1) active pickups 2) acoustic pickups and 3) fuzz pedals. But you sound like you did pretty heavy research. But I would also keep in mind you are buying a wireless that is 1/10th the price of most entry level wireless systems. It’s not going to work with every single system/setup, and it might just not be right for you unfortunately. I usually recommend this one for those who have problems with other easy wireless systems: ua-cam.com/video/FtI8tnW5TeU/v-deo.html
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks, I really wanted this to work, I have had wireless systems before that works but always felt they robbed tone but this unit sounded fine tone wise. If the issue only happened at my house I would live with it knowing its primary function was to work out on gigs, mostly acoustic. I could have lent it to someone to test in another venue to see if it still had the issue but I have returned both units, so for now I'll remain corded, Thanks for your response. Kerry
I’ve heard most people with active pickups do not have any problems with this one. But in case you do need one specifically, this one: ua-cam.com/video/FtI8tnW5TeU/v-deo.html
I'm sorry to report I bought this on your recommendation and it sounded terrible. It very noticeably muffled the tone. It was the first cheap wireless I tried after my old Carvin wireless died. I'm reluctant to try the other cheap offerings now if they're all similar in tone quality.
That’s the thing with these cheap wireless. They will not with with every configuration/guitar/pickup/etc. Our singer used two of them at our gig yesterday (one electric and one acoustic) and they worked fantastic. You can try another cheap wireless if you don’t like these, or you can spend the money to get a nice Shure or sennheiser system for $400-$600. Hope that helps 👍
The problem with the Swiff audio is that the output is way low compared to a cable used with an electric guitar so for me it loses tons of tone and is unacceptable for this application, HOWEVER, this is perfect for acoustic guitars because you can compensate by just turning up the volume knob on the acoustic. In conclusion I highly recommend it for acoustic guitars.
Picked up a set of these to try out a few days ago. The reviews here and elsewhere were mixed regarding compatibility with active pickups but I figured for $50 it was worth a shot. They worked flawlessly with passives, but unfortunately did not play well at all with my active pickup guitar (EMG 81/85 @9v). When I first plugged in and strummed a few chords it sounded OK so I had high hopes, but as soon as I started playing anything that involved aggressive low string palm muting it started cutting out. My best guess going off what I was hearing through my speakers is that there's some sort of gate in the system that gets hit only when chugging away with higher output actives. If I rolled off the volume pot on the guitar and/or played with a VERY light touch I could get it to go away. I think that's where some of the confusion on whether or not these work with actives comes from. If you have a lower output active system and/or play a style of music that has little to no palm muting these may work. If you're using EMGs or the equivalent doing aggressive metal or metal-adjacent stuff these probably aren't for you. They're 3x the price and on a different frequency band, so it's not a direct comparison, but FWIW the NU-X C5-RC has worked flawlessly with my actives and anything else I've plugged it into. And thanks Scott for all the info on this channel. Seriously helpful!
Thank you for the details in this comment! I really appreciate it, and I hope this answers the questions for some people who watch this video as well! Really appreciate it 🤘🤘
The problem with these UHF systems is that they all seem to have a built in noise gate that can't be turned off, and many amazon reviews of the swiff explain that. I have the lekato UHF system and it does the exact same thing. It makes playing at low volumes really annoying because the audio will cut out, and even on the attack of some notes the audio will cut off the transients too. I could hear it on your distorted test, where the audio was cutting in on the transients.
I just shot a video about this. My advice… you are shopping in the most budget part of the store for wireless. Don’t want to mess around with cheap stuff? Save up and buy an entry level Shure or sennheiser system. These work well for me, but it doesn’t sound like you are having much luck with them.
My understanding is that they do work with active pickups. But I don’t own any active pickups to try it to confirm myself. But I’m pretty sure they do 👍
Fantastic reviews on all of the wireless system you've covered. I like that you only talk about what you know through use and also how you give sound recommendations that are based on your research and logic. And your GIFs in the videos are fitting and funny AF. Thanks
Thanks for the great videos regarding these assorted wireless doo-hickies. After playing guitar for 50+ years in almost every live situation you can imagine, I recently decided to cut the cord and go wireless. Looking at the endless myriad of these things on Amazon, your vids have been invaluable and after watching this one in particular, I've decided that this is the product to go with and I've just ordered up. I can't wait to stop dragging around a guitar cable in my studio. I just subscribed to your channel as this is the level of quality information I seek.
I was about to get this as the latency is as low as the Boss WL-20. (I need it to be low as possible as I use Software FX which already adds around 10ms). However multiple amazon reviewers say this has a noticeable "gate" effect. Is this true? My concern is playing a lot of clean fingerstyle jazz I prefer no type of gate.
People seem to get a gate with metal playing, so you should be fine. I have no problems with a gate with mine and one of my singers uses his at every show.
I know I'm late to the game here. But I bought these a couple of months ago because of this review. And I have to say I'm quite impressed. As a bass player it seems the low end on other wireless systems just "shelf" off around 400k. But not these. I use a modern bass with modern pickups. I do not hear any difference between this system or cabled. Good call Scott. Thanks for keeping it real for us broke-a$$ musicians. Now.... I have some catching up to do with your channel.....
I just got these today, after watching a few of your videos. I bought them because you mentioned that these will work with active pickups. I can confirm these work with active pickups. They work fine with my '87 Charvel Model 4. Thanks for the video(s) on wireless systems Scott. I had no idea what I was doing and these fit the bill just fine. People just have to realize they ARE buying a $50 system. In the world of Amazon people expect high quality for a cheap price. Things don't work that way. I play down my basement and for $50 bucks these things are great. No hiss, no noticeable latency.
Hello, great video congratulations! Does this equipment fit an Ibanez SD470, SD 570, Fender Stratocaster? I mean where a regular cable is connected Thanks in advance
I just bought a pair of these for my Bass, going to try and use them out at a gig in downtown Baltimore, I'll let you guys know how it sounds to me with the low freqs.
Nice job! Just started to get interest in wireless systems. Great advise from someone who actually has used the systems, not just test the systems. FYI; 2.4hz is also used with home wireless telephones, R/C cars, planes, some adapted to control model outdoor electric & live steam trains, & drones (which are bring used more & more for filming). 5.8hz is in up scale & newer wireless home telephones .
Yup, 2.4ghz is even more crowded with all of those other things as well. I understand why companies make them because they are universally accepted around the world. But that makes it very crowded
I've been using wireless for yrs. 1st with a garbage Nady system then switched to AKG wireless bug system. I went a little crazy and bought 7 different bug set ups. All on different frequencies. The 1 I use the most now has a 2 AAA battery powered receiver and a regular 1 AAA battery for the bug transmitter. That goes to my pedalboard and coming out is a Getaria 5.8 system. I've used these all over with both electric and acoustic/electric guitars. Through amps, P A's, D I boxes. On the beach, in churches with their own wireless systems working, at an outside church with just an acoustic guitar and a keyboard plugged into a rechargeable P A speaker. Everything always sounds real good. Enough to where 1 church guitarist bought 1 of my bug systems and the keyboard guy bought Getaria system for himself.
I've had the Lekato ws-50 (5.8 GHz) for just over a year and never had a problem, however, I HAVE forgotten to charge them and had to fall back to a cable because of that. I like the idea of buying these for redundancy and having the option to try a different band if I ever do have issues. Great advice!
This one is ALMOST perfect. I put the switch to my neck pickup (clean channel on amp) and did some heavy pick attack for funk leads stuff and the notes got cut off. The system couldn't handle too much bass and loud picking or something. Had to return and switch for the Getaria 5.8g one which is better but it added a little gain (not distorted) which is not that bad. I liked the tone in the swiff because it didn't add much gain to the signal.
Are you sure it was cutting out because of the volume of how loud you were hitting the strings? I play pretty heavily and I don’t have that issue... but you never know. Everyone’s setup and playing style is different
@@ScottUhlMusic Yes. I pick hard for the funk stuff. It only cuts off when you pick hard on the individual notes. And ONLY when the neck pickup is engaged. It's weird because it doesn't do that on the bridge and I have a high gain pickup (tone zone). I tried it with my other guitars and it does the same. Don't know if mine was faulty.
Aloha brutha!🏝Great vids! I’ve bought 3 pairs of this wireless system over 1yr. I love them! Why 3 sets? Broke one sitting down w/unit not snug to guitar (PRS)…broke a 2nd tripping on receiver attached to my Headrush…broke the 3rd same way I broke the 1st one! Lol! Then, I took parts from all 3 orphaned pairs and rebuilt into 2 working pairs! Plus I reversed the plug on the transmitters so now I can easily check the charge indicators…plus the “on” button now faces out which I think looks wayye cooler! 🤙🏽 one of the solder joints was hanging by only 1 thread of wire (which explained why that unit was so scratchy!) …now strong like bull!🦾😎
Ive been using these since June 2020. thats over 3.5years now....shocked....and i use these for rehearsals, gigs, live shows, events....you name it. I haven't encountered any interference or dropouts at all! not even once! the only times i cant get any sound is when i mixed up the transmit and receiver by mistake....or didnt plug in fully. even the battery is worth a mention! till today, it can easily last 4 hour and still have over half the capacity left! tbh Ive not tried the max run time....didn't have the need to. it'll easily last through even those long ass rehearsals. now....do i trust it 100%? hmmm.....lets just say i always carry an extra cable just in case....and there are times i needed to use the cable for troubleshooting. but from my own experience, its been working 100% of the time and I'm sure it'll still run for afew more years
Why is the output on these lower than the rest. Have you checked it. I noticed when I plugged mine in to my Helix versus even cheaper 2.4 GHz ones The output is slightly lower so obviously there's less response and distortion that you have to fix trying to add game to the input weird.. Happens on no matter what channel
The marketplace is flooded with brand name devices + their cheap copies that are so similar as to border on copyright infringement. They all claim to have the same feature sets, and usually are only separated in price by a few dollars. Is it worth paying the higher price for a brand name, or roll the dice on a no-name knock-off? The Swiff unit you're reviewing has competition in the same UHF wireless device space; what's better about the Swiff vs. Lekato, for example? I have several of the Xvive units, but haven't used them much lately due to 2.4 Ghz crowding around my music workspace - my amp head also connects to a tablet via Bluetooth, and my wireless in-ear monitors (an Xvive product) and wireless mic kit run on the 2.4Ghz band (also Xvive). Might have to upgrade to the Sennheiser solution (Shure, or other pro grade units).
You are absolutely correct that a lot of these wireless are just copies of each other. This WS 50 is different that it's not on 2.4 or 5.8. I'm also literally editing my video together now for the WS70, which will be out tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. That's why almost all of these wireless are so cheap, and that's kind of the game plan of these wireless devices... put out as many cheap ones as possible. Although, they really do work pretty well actually. Especially for the price point.
I highly recommend NOT buying the Swiff. There is a latency or gating delay that is so noticeable that it affects your playing. You hit a note or chord and there is a noticeable delay before you hear the note. I tried this on multiple amps and floor processors. Not sure where this comes from but it's so bad that it's unusable for live playing.
I’ve used the Swiff so many times, I disagree with you completely. Our singer just used it for a gig today. It’s a fantastic wireless for the price. I also recommend to watch this video; ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
These are cheaper wireless, so you might need a Shure or sennheiser to keep it from being compressed. I honestly don’t know, but these sound great to me 👍
I've sent the Swiff WS-50 back as it was sucking too much tone out of the sound. When using the WS-50 there is a 5dB level drop (which is a lot) compared to plugging the instrument directly into the amp. There is also less treble and less bass. I put this down to the fact that the frequency range of the WS-50 is 30Hz to 16Khz, whereas there is apparently a new version available in some territories (the Swiff WS-70) that has a frequency range of 20hz to 20Khz which may solve these problems. BTW, I have been A/B-ing the WS-50 with a bass guitar which may make the bass roll-off more apparent. All I need to do now is find someone who can supply the Swiff WS-70 in the U.K.!
30hz-16khz should not be a problem. I program my stuff to get rid of below 100 and above 8k anyways for a cleaner tone. I do not hear the loss in quality at all from these, but tone is up to the listener. A volume cut doesn’t bother me, because I can just turn my output up, but again.... I do not hear it. No worries either way and thanks for the comment 👍
I've had the WS-70 for a few months now and can confirm that is MUCH better than the WS-50. It runs at 20khz instead of 16khz so the tone is much better and there is less volume drop.
Picked up these today after my Line6 G10 died last night. The transmitter overheated and now it and the base just blink red. These were recommended as a replacement. Much cheaper to buy these than replace the Line6 transmitter!
BTW, there are a number of apps you can download on your phone the will "show" you the RF environment where you are in order to help you make a more informed choice about which frequencies or system to use. Most are pretty good.
@@ScottUhlMusic absolutely, I use one called WiFi Tools and another called WiFiman from my equipment provider Ubiquiti. Either will do the job. But like I said there are many to choose from. Some have some really good graphics as well. The trick is to have a phone and an app that recognizes the 5.8Ghz band. Not all cell phones do.
@@ScottUhlMusic Pretty sure it's just for 2.4 and 5.8. I don't work with frequencies that low anymore. But hey, can't hurt to look. I kinda doubt it now that I think about it. I can't think of a piece of equipment not specifically designed for that freq that you would want to get. AND, your phone definitely wont do it.
it is simply INCREDIBLE quality of a video... thank you so much I wasn't expecting someone to be that dedicated to put quality explanation of these so entertaining even!
Just tried them out, could immediately hear the difference from cord to wireless. Think they would be ok if you just played rhythm guitar. Might work good for acoustic or bass guitar? But took the edge off the lead tone in my opinion. Just seemed to take the fullness out and made it generic sounding. But then, I’m a total tone freak, that’s rarely satisfied with any tones! Maybe it’s just the new modern equipment? Always had a great tone on the older stuff. Then again maybe I just been playing so long I can’t hear right anymore? lol! But these aren’t for me. Just keep using my trusty old cords.
That’s fair, these definitely aren’t aimed for tone purists (nothing wrong with that fyi). If you spend more on a nice Shure or sennheiser system, those sound great 🤘🤘 Thanks for commenting.
I think you have an excellent perspective on wireless systems. I, too, have a Shure for important gigs, but 99% of the time, I use these cheaper systems. In particular, I use the Blackwing (probably originally named BlackWang :-) ) I bought it based on your recommendation. I wanted to note that the first one I received had to be returned, because the jack on the receiver was wobbling in the housing. Otherwise, the system has been stable, and I've never had a dropout. So thanks mucho not just for the reviews, but especially for your thoughts on tone and th use of cheaper systems.
Swiff has excellent sound quality, that is indisputable, but its volume decreases unlike a cable or my other device Aroma arg-5 that has the same sound quality and without loss of volume. Aroma Arg 5 is the best of all that I have had.
I bought these Swiss Audio. And for the first time was extremely disappointed in their performance. And Would NOT recommend them. Firstly tone loss. I use these with an acoustic solo set up. I was trying to figure out why my guitar tone was sounding so thin and harsh. I tried to EQ on board - Allen and Heath 18T and could not bring adequate bass tone into the guitar. I switched to a cable and confirmed it was the wireless. I had used this system for approximately 3 gigs and already the battery life was significantly reduced. I could only get through two sets before it quit. And this happened at several gigs. So I stopped using them. Maybe I received a lemon or maybe ya get what ya pay for. I was excited about them on paper as they addressed many issues. But to date, the worse system I have used unfortunately.
You are in the minority on this one, but that can happen. I go over it here and I highly recommend that you watch it: ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.htmlsi=tQmebncE-ob08Rie
Hi, do you think those swiff ws50 may have two hardware versions? I just bought a pair of these and i've immediately noticed a HUGE tone difference from a cable. Massive high and low loss, volume drop and the gate is a little annoying with PMs
Watch this video to find out why that can happen and what to do about it: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
Excellent video! I purchased the Swiff WS-50. After charging all night, the TX shows 4 lights but the receiver only shows 3 lights. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet but, is this a problem? Thx… Dave Burns
These swiff ones absolutely suck. Do not buy them. They sound like your PASSIVE pickups are running at 60%. The signal loss is unacceptable. Loss of volume, high end, low end, attack, note definition, and vibe. Its like there is a noise gate on. Do not buy them.
Out of all the "cheap" wireless I've recommended on my channel, this one has the most positive reviews/feedback that I've gotten. Didn't work for your setup it sounds like, but many people are happy with them. You might have to buy a more expensive one like the Shure or Sennheiser ones to get them to work with your setup.
I just bought it. What i will say is that you get what you pay for. I don’t think it sounds good which by the way is obvious but i think it is overall “ok” sounding wireless system. It didn’t sound so rich like normal cables do which is why i don’t recommend this piece of gear to the professionals. One thing i was really disappointed is that if i even moved just 5 meters or more from the receiver, i would be hearing nasty latency. Its not just noticeable but i couldn’t play my guitar because of the latency. So here’s what it is, it is good for practicing your guitar going wireless but not a good choice for a good live performance. This is my really honest review.
Thanks for your review! I do recommend you watch this video of mine about buying cheap: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
Thanks for the great video. I bought a pair of these and I’m very happy with them. However, do you know any transmitter that works with active pick ups?
I own the swiff and they do last.... I play multiple 4 hour gigs weekly and they last no problem especially if you shut them down during break. I can't figure out if you can add multiple transmitters to one receiver, like some others do. If anybody knows how to do that please let me know. The distance is insane by the way. I have an amp in basement and I went 100 across basement then upstairs out to driveway then to middle of cul-de-sac before starting to loose any sound....
I stared with the XVibe on a Recommendation from a friend, they were almost 250 bucks Canadian, so I thought at that price point they would be pretty good, they were terrible, They were dropping out like crazy. Then after seeing Scott’s video I like the sound of the Getaria 5.8 mhz, so I bought them and sent the Zvibes back, the Getaria have been working fine, but the other day I saw these on Amazon and ordered them, I think they’re going to be the best ones.
Thanks for the comment! The best strategy in my opinion is to have one on 5.8ghz (like the getaria one you got) and then have one of these on the 900mhz. So if one isn’t working, you have an option and it’s only about $100 for two wireless 👍 so good call!
@@ScottUhlMusic I use the Line 6 Relay 50 for shows, but I’m using these cheaper ones for rehearsals and jamming at home. Thanks for you content, it has really helped me out!!
I used Xvive with serious dropout at home. You previous video inspired me what to look for and I found Swiff and bought it a few weeks ago. Thanks for your very detailed comparison and inspiration to me. The Swiff system is amazing, dead silent without any noise or dropout again. I highly recommend it to all my friends now.
im keen to follow and purchase but they are $145 in Australia unfortunately
@Bullets ForTeeth oh really, are you sure it’s the same? I wondered what the difference was as I found those on eBay too and wondered the difference. Have you got them and are they stable?
@Bullets ForTeeth legend status! thanks heaps man I might take a leap and get the Westshell
This is hissing like crazy on all of my electric guitars when it's on the dirt channel
Cant believe I just payed 150 for xive, might buy this
I've used the swiff on many gigs for about 2 years. Never had a problem. Can't believe it's lasted this long
It’s a solid gem!
Thanks so much for the information. Very detailed. I'll be getting the SWIFF. I subscribed for sure.
Thanks for the sub! 🤘
730mhz technically is "not allowed" to be used in the USA. 470-600mhz or 900-928mhz are the legal UHF frequencies
So far I've used them in practice sessions only, but I can hear the better sound above the 2.5Ghz Gitarre that are now in the depths of my gig bag. The battery life so far is also better.
I think out of ALL the plug and play wireless I’ve reviewed, this one is definitely my favorite
Yeah these things are really incredible for sure! I was really impressed
Thanks for the info. I bought these mainly based on your videos about cheaper wireless systems. Well explained. They'll be here tomorrow.... we'll see how they do.
Nice, enjoy your wireless 🤘
Hi Scott from Tucson, AZ. Really enjoyed your "cheap wireless" posts. Thank you. Just for home practicing I'm now thinking of the Swiff.
Thanks, and out of all the wireless I’ve reviewed I think this is probably the first one I would recommend to most people. Especially just for practice at home, it’s a no brainer for sure!
@@ScottUhlMusic I appreciate your response Scott !
Thanks Scott! I've just purchased the Swiff unit based on your video and the better choice of frequency. I'll let you know how it works out for me. Cheers!
Nice! Enjoy 🤘
Just bought it! Thanks for the review!
Nice! Enjoy your new wireless 🤘
Keep it up!
Thanks! And yeah the frequency thing is interesting for sure. So always be sure to check 🤘
great review, your video has a lot of information, i need to buy a wireless guitar system and i decided on this product, thanks for your review. .. I subscribed 👍🏼
Thanks for subscribing! And enjoy your new wireless 🤘 Let me know what you think when you get it
Purchased two from your drop down, the amoon and swiss. Will use for my Acoustic. I use Sennheiser's for my Electric. Will let ya know, great video's. .
Thank you! Let me know what you think 🤘 I have had great luck with both units so far
Mine works great but That can happen sometimes, and I address it in this video here: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III
ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
I had a pair of these Swiff, and like one other commenter, they did not work for me. Sounds like there is a badly adjusted noise gate that sometimes pops, cutting off the attack transient and flutters on the note tails. I returned it and got the Lekato 5.8 which is working great with all my guitars and basses, active and passive.
I have the best advice for that in this video: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III
ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
But glad you found one that works for you 🤘🤘
Thanks for all the great videos on wireless devices, I've think I've watched most if not all of them (and subscribed too).
3 should be fine in most situations, just remember the more cheap wireless you use, the more you up the chances of it not working
I got a set of those 5.8 ammoon ones for 24 bucks on sale.
Thank you Scott,I read one comment/reply,them being used for base, have you tested them for base?thanks,Fred Hammer nz
They seem to work well with bass. But the definitive answer is here: ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
Every one of these I've tried cannot handle loud pickups. And the youtube videos never mention is. How were these?
Then stop looking at cheap wireless. Here’s a great Shure one: ua-cam.com/video/k5OM4GUJNvQ/v-deo.html
Here’s the main one l use that is incredible: ua-cam.com/video/rWVF0tv8zCM/v-deo.html
I mention constantly in my videos that some of these cheaper ones cannot handle every pickup or amp/pedal setup. I’ve even reviewed one that is specifically designed for active pickups: ua-cam.com/video/FtI8tnW5TeU/v-deo.html
This Swiff one seems to work very well with most pickups.
Yup I’ve used these on my keyboard as well actually 👍
Hey. Thanks for the review, found it very informative. Do you think you would be able to use multiple of these in the same space (e.g. 2 guitarists and a bass, each using a swiff, doing a gig together). I might have missed something obvious but I don't think this video answered that either way
Yeah 2 at once shouldn’t be a problem. Just be careful with doing TOO much cheap wireless all at once. ua-cam.com/video/Xgw96rY4TAc/v-deo.html
Hey Tony! 2 years after buying your Swiff Audio, are you still feeling pretty good about it?
Still my #1 recommended one for the CHEAP wireless.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. It looks like I can plug into my acoustic and then into my LR Baggs anthem DI which is connected to the snake on stage. Does that sound right?
Yup, just replace the guitar cable 👍
Thanks Scott. You make great videos!@@ScottUhlMusic
How would two sets of these on stage at the same time work? Would it work or would things potentially get mixed up? Thinking of getting a pair for myself and the other guitarist in the band.
Two would be fine… but the more cheap wireless gear you use at once, the more likely there will be a drop out. But two should usually be fine 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic I actually ended up getting a pair of these that I had seen on your channel since I last posted a comment. Never ended up getting a second pair, but I can say that they still work after almost a year.
@@andrewg5373 Nice! Yeah they are really great wireless for sure!
Scott, I've been seeing ads for Operasound which suggests it is at the lower frequency range. Have you checked them out?
It’s in 730mhz which is technically not allowed to be used in the USA. Something between 470-600mhz and 900mhz range is allowed here.
I ordered a Joyo system just to see if it's worth the 50 bucks.
Let me know how it is. That one transmits in 2.4ghz frequency, so be sure to watch my “main wireless” video here to understand a few things about those systems ua-cam.com/video/A2183MfZWgQ/v-deo.html

@@ScottUhlMusic Will do.
Thoughts?
I do not believe you can
Hey Scott, thanks for this video. Can you tell me whether this will work with my acoustic guitar (active pickup)?
It should. I have not had anyone say it doesn’t work with their active pickups. Just played a show with a bass player friend of mine who has active pickups and bought this one with no issues
@@ScottUhlMusic Thank you. Would you rather recommend the black Ammoon one or the Swiff one?
I have a Carvin G-5 for my bass works great on passive but sounds like amp is over driven on my 2 active bass guitars. Any idea how to fix this problem?
Part of these cheap wireless is they do not work with every single setup. So you might have to go with a Shure or sennheiser one and spend the money to get a high quality one. These work great for me, but they won’t work with every setup
I always thought that UHF is previous generations of guitar wireless, which is analog, and 2.4 and 5 GHz are digital
These work great for me, but not for everyone. That’s the risk with cheap wireless. Go for Shure or sennheiser if you don’t want to risk it.
Can’t find the Amoon 5.8 on Amazon.
Yeah they stopped carrying it. The lekato 5.8 is also good
@@ScottUhlMusic I ordered Amoon through Walmart.
That’s interesting…… does it do that with any other setup?
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks for your reply. The Mustang Micro and the WS-50's seem to work perfectly by themselves. It is only when I use them together that the music stops after 8 minutes. I have written to both Swiff and Fender, but was just hoping you might have already heard of the issue.
Man that is super weird! Let me know what you find out 👍
Without having to read through the comments, with UHF, do I need to worry about active or passive pickups with this system? Thanks

Hi Scott. So the $20 units I have transmit on 730 MHZ. Is this the same as the units you are reviewing?
Which ones are they? What brand. I would be curious which one that is? Also 730mhz is “not allowed” in the USA
Can you do wireless one guitar into two amps with that one? Could I have one going {guitar to pedal board}, then another from {pedal board to the amp(s)}?
Yup. You can definitely go wireless guitar into pedalboard and then another wireless from pedalboard to amp 👍
Do you think running a mxr micro amp or a Jhs clover in front will make up for any lost gain or db’s to equal the same volume as a cable?
I’m literally editing a video addressing “does it work with *insert pickup/guitar/pedal/amp*” question right now haha. Best thing you can do with cheap stuff is try it out right away. If it doesn’t work, return it. Don’t want to risk it? Get the more expensive Shure/sennheiser entry level stuff 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic awesome. But do u think a MXR micro amp will add back the volume drop the swiff creates?
So does this one work with Active pick ups
Yes it does 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks.. hoing to order one tomorrow...I'll let you know how it does fot me ... this is a good test .. my drummer swears I got a weird electric feild because I get latency and sever drop outs ... even with pro units.... fingers crossed
Mine lasted on year. Bought a new set and it lasted 5 weeks
That can happen with budget stuff. Mine is still working more than 2 years later
I don’t get the concern with the 2.4ghz network. I’ve had mine for years and never had a single problem. Plenty of other devices using that frequency in the house.
Have you gigged with it?
I have, and it works a majority of the time.... which is fine for hobby players for sure. But if I have an important gig I never use 2.4
Kerry
Do they make one of these for active pickups?
I’ve heard most people with active pickups do not have any problems with this one. But in case you do need one specifically, this one: ua-cam.com/video/FtI8tnW5TeU/v-deo.html
Great brake down.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Does this work on active Bass as well?
I have had multiple bass players use it with their active pickups 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic appreciate the response. 🙏🙏 Thank you.
Does anyone know if these will work on Active Pickups?
It seems like they will. A follower of mine said they work with his active pickup guitar 👍
Dude, what about Carvin Audio stuff? :)
Do they have any of the simple plug-n-play wireless like these? I haven't seen any by Carvin
@@ScottUhlMusic yeah a 5ghz and a traditional one. my band uses the traditional ones
Your ammoon link is not working
Ammoon sometimes doesn’t have their product up on Amazon. The lekato one that looks almost the exact same is great as well 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic thanks for your reply
The problem with the Swiff audio is that the output is way low compared to a cable used with an electric guitar so for me it loses tons of tone and is unacceptable for this application, HOWEVER, this is perfect for acoustic guitars because you can compensate by just turning up the volume knob on the acoustic. In conclusion I highly recommend it for acoustic guitars.
I haven’t personally had any problems using this with my electric OR acoustic guitar. It works great with both
Picked up a set of these to try out a few days ago.
Really appreciate it 🤘🤘
Yes. EMG don't work, sadness.
Give a link to nux please.
@@ScottUhlMusic Can you link your video on the gating? I cannot find it on your channel.
Thank you for reviewing this. Do you know if this works with active pickups? There is no mention if it does or doesn't on the Amazon page.
Thanks
Thanks! Come for the tech talk, stay for the memes 😁
@@ScottUhlMusic yes, sir!
After you fully charge does it shut off after no use or do you physically have to turn them off?
You have to shut them off, which I prefer. Another wireless has the auto shut off, and I dislike that
Thanks for the great videos regarding these assorted wireless doo-hickies.
Thanks! I appreciate it 😊 and enjoy your new wireless 🤘
600mhz is no longer allowed. 600 is now for 4/5Gen cellular
Above 600 is not allowed correct. Which is why I said between 470-600
I was about to get this as the latency is as low as the Boss WL-20.
Nice! Glad they’ve been working out well for you 🤘
I just got these today, after watching a few of your videos.
Thanks for sharing and I’m glad it’s working well for you!
Hello, great video congratulations!
Does this equipment fit an Ibanez SD470, SD 570, Fender Stratocaster? I mean where a regular cable is connected
Thanks in advance
I just bought a pair of these for my Bass, going to try and use them out at a gig in downtown Baltimore, I'll let you guys know how it sounds to me with the low freqs.
What’s the difference between ws-50 and ws-70??? Which one is better? Can’t really find anything comparing
They both are fine. I don’t think there is a huge difference at all. I like the 50 personally, but either one will be great
That’s really strange..: I’ll have to test that out myself and see if I can get the same result. Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks Scott Uhl for making these wireless system videos. They really helped me ALOT. Specially the DIY budget IEM video.
Thanks! Glad you’ve found them helpful 🤘
Ive used these for about a year for both, my cordoba acoustic/electric and my electric bass and it works great.
Hi Scott, can u somehow configure this peripheral to use air pod pros on a DJ mixer? If not, what would be a solution for that?
That would be Bluetooth that would be best I believe
Hell, I have about 6 pairs of these plug and play wireless now, I’m not here to judge 😃
Ive been using these since June 2020. thats over 3.5years now....shocked....and i use these for rehearsals, gigs, live shows, events....you name it. I haven't encountered any interference or dropouts at all! not even once! the only times i cant get any sound is when i mixed up the transmit and receiver by mistake....or didnt plug in fully.
even the battery is worth a mention! till today, it can easily last 4 hour and still have over half the capacity left! tbh Ive not tried the max run time....didn't have the need to. it'll easily last through even those long ass rehearsals.
now....do i trust it 100%? hmmm.....lets just say i always carry an extra cable just in case....and there are times i needed to use the cable for troubleshooting. but from my own experience, its been working 100% of the time and I'm sure it'll still run for afew more years
Nice! Glad it’s worked so well for you over the years!
I own 3 pairs. Love them. 8.5 outta 10. Worth every penny.
I go over that possibility in this video: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III
ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
I also recommend to watch this video; ua-cam.com/video/xRmmgrQoHZU/v-deo.html
there's something different that's different
after I saw all your videos about this.. I'm getting confused, which one should I buy? 😑
Try this one. If it doesn’t work, return it and try another one. You are shopping for the cheapest wireless out there. Just manage expectations
I just want to know if the Swiff system transmits the audio signal compressed or uncompressed? Anyone know? Thanks.
Interesting... I would definitely like to check those out. Any in particular that you recommend?
@@ScottUhlMusic absolutely, I use one called WiFi Tools and another called WiFiman from my equipment provider Ubiquiti. Either will do the job. But like I said there are many to choose from. Some have some really good graphics as well. The trick is to have a phone and an app that recognizes the 5.8Ghz band. Not all cell phones do.
Ah gotcha, so it’s for 2.4 and 5.8ghz only correct? Still helpful for sure! I was just wondering how it would work for the 470-600mhz range
Thank you 😊
Just tried them out, could immediately hear the difference from cord to wireless.
Westshell also has a UHF unit actually was trying to find a demo on which ended up bringing me here thanks for the info on UHF
I believe that’s basically the same thing 👍
I think you have an excellent perspective on wireless systems. I, too, have a Shure for important gigs, but 99% of the time, I use these cheaper systems. In particular, I use the Blackwing (probably originally named BlackWang :-) ) I bought it based on your recommendation. I wanted to note that the first one I received had to be returned, because the jack on the receiver was wobbling in the housing. Otherwise, the system has been stable, and I've never had a dropout.
So thanks mucho not just for the reviews, but especially for your thoughts on tone and th use of cheaper systems.
Thanks! And yup, that’s part of the risk of buying cheap. I’m glad you understand that 🤘
Swiff has excellent sound quality, that is indisputable, but its volume decreases unlike a cable or my other device Aroma arg-5 that has the same sound quality and without loss of volume.
If 5.8GHz is jammed up, chances are that 2.4 will be as well. Just carry 2.4 and UHF, and use the $50 you saved on a nice cable…
I agree to have other options for sure, but 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz are different, so that first part isn’t necessarily true
Hi, do you think those swiff ws50 may have two hardware versions? I just bought a pair of these and i've immediately noticed a HUGE tone difference from a cable. Massive high and low loss, volume drop and the gate is a little annoying with PMs

Excellent video! I purchased the Swiff WS-50. After charging all night, the TX shows 4 lights but the receiver only shows 3 lights. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet but, is this a problem? Thx… Dave Burns
Interesting, I’m not sure. Test it out and see how long the battery lasts. If it’s defective, get a replacement. Enjoy 🤘
Hey how's it going! What is your opinion about the WL-20L Boss audio wireless system?
I like the Swiff better 👍
I do recommend you watch this video of mine about buying cheap: What Is The BEST CHEAP WIRELESS SYSTEM - Part III

I don’t believe you can, but I’m glad it’s been working so well for you!

I use the Line 6 Relay 50 for shows, but I’m using these cheaper ones for rehearsals and jamming at home.
Thanks for you content, it has really helped me out!!
