When one does an 'Australian Crawl' (i.e., inverted abseil) one of the first things you concern yourself with is the 'tag' end (the end that goes out of the carabiner and falls down to the belay/ground. ). Primarily, this allows you -- the 'assaulter' to not show up with what should fairly well be a train-horn and megaphone arrangement -- disclosing that: YES! You ARE going to rappel in and 'We are here, here we come!' There is a method where you don't immediately invert the bottom end of the belay and thus 'lock up' the rope in the braking rig. Rather, you keep the rope out of sight and with you -- thus not hinting ANYTHING to anyone when you make the assault. As well, as explained to me, the 'Australian Crawl' was a technique used by (first?) Australian Soldiers in WWII to assault Japanese force on sheer or very steep rock faces/cliffs. Without disclosing yourself, you could go over the edge, from the top-down, either spray bullets, gas etc., or throw in grenades and/or demolitions at cave face openings. One of the ways that it was known that you 'didn't announce' things -- by keeping the extra tag-end of rope one or about your person, was to find out that a 300 foot cliff face, and you are at about 200 feet (or so -- doesn't really matter in this instance), your tag-end falls down and the enemy just simply cuts it. You HAVE to stay out there EXPOSED on the cliff face because if you try to scramble down farther on down the line, the rope pulls through and you take a LITERAL header -- about almost guaranteed to die, BTW. You *might* be able to use various abseiling rescue techniques that might get you down to the ground -- SAFELY, but when you are having to avoid being shot by a Type 99 weapon, that kind narrows down time (and the like).

My time in South Korea 🇰🇷 is one I’ll never forget… the old South Korean 🇰🇷 War Planes they had in Suwon during my in-processing… I would just walk and explore that stuff when we were released for the day and had personal time… I still have all those photos on my iPhone 7. And then one of my Good Buddies I served with over seas in South Korea 🇰🇷 found this spot / coffee spot called the Meerkat Café 🍵 and they had LIVE WILD ANIMALS IN THAT PLACE! I GOT PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ON MY IPHONE 7 AND IPHONE 6 (the 2 phones I had on me during that time which STILL ARE CLEAN AND WORK) . They had baby kangaroos ROAMING FREELY! different colored little foxes that I thought were little wolves, they had some raccoons (in open enclosures) and they had of course… MEERKATS! Those little prairie dog looking things like Timon off the Lion King. THOSE LITTLE CREATURES HAD SUCH HIGH ENERGY! JUST RUNNING DARTING CHASING EACH OTHER PLAYING! And they would let people enter their wide open clear plastic play area on the floor, and you could sit with them as they played, and they would come up to you and were so curious and gentle… Oh man… so many Great memories… …And then Monday morning… PT or the occasional Real World re-call. Get the PAC 2 and PAC 3 missles up and running and ready at the missle site. TRUMP flew into South Korea 🇰🇷 in 2017. He was supposed to come to Osan Air Force Base where I was stationed with my Air Defense Artillery Unit but he came and visited Camp Humphreys instead. Neil DeGrasse Tyson CAME TO MY EXACT AIR DEFENSE UNIT (Delta 6-52 ADA) IN SOUTH KOREA 🇰🇷 2017 ON OSAN AIR FORCE BASE. That was cool… only a handful of higher ranking troops in my unit from Fire Control got to take photos with him. It was an Honor serving under TRUMP. He did us troops right by upping our pay some during my time in South Korea 🇰🇷 in 2017. He made peace or something like that with Kim Jong Un in 2017. I was shocked, surprised and stunned! Because we were all on the missile site maintaining the launchers in the berms when we got the news. It sucks that they’re trying to make TRUMP seem like the bad guy now with that trial thing. How many politicians can you think of prior to TRUMP that need to be charged and locked up? I thought about going back in the military if TRUMP won the 2024 election. I’m so glad I am not serving under Biden. This 2024 election is going to be one of the most important elections in History… for the Lifeblood of this Nation 🇺🇸. OVERALL, TRUMP is the one who will get America 🇺🇸 back on track. So this country can survive and not fail. …Whoah… Big tangent I went on. Oh well… I needed to say it. I feel like I am not heard at times… *sigh… I needed to express that……. yeah……. There you go…
In 1962 or 63, the son of our families, closest friends was selected and volunteered for a new unit in the Navy. He became one of the early navy seals. To say the lease was very proud of this young man.
A lot of the training most of these units go through is impressive but one thing that the U.S., Colombian, and a few other units have is real-time consistent experience. So you can lay on a bed of nails and have concrete broken over your body. When was the last time you’ve been in combat?
A valid point. My last (and second) combat involvement was over 15 years ago in Afghanistan. None of the opponents carried a bed of nails with them. I've crouched over and through anything imaginable, but nothing resembled a bed of nails. I've mastered nearly every training course/exercise you can think of, but have never lain on a bed of nails. Keep in mind most of the these clips and pictures are basically advertisement, to show off with troop performance for your own people, other countries and especially potential recruits. They present what you can achieve and endure with the right training, but it's _not_ training itself. It depicts a possible outcome in a entertaining, publicly effective and maybe stimulating (or daunting) manner.
@@Smokey420GreenleafHa ha. It’s a training to escape from helicopter which has been ditched on water (not crashed). Usually helicopter overturns in that situation - floating for about 10 minutes upside down. We, the passengers have to remove our seat belts, open the windows and wiggle out through them and correctly determine the direction of the water surface and float towards it. All these, while holding breath and fighting panic.
All of that ridiculous showing off by Korean SF breaking boards and concrete doesn't necessarily mean ultimate stamina and longevity toughness , nor does it make them bullet proof ! The US Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets based their recruitment and their training originally on the British SAS , and more recently the Australian SASR (Special Air Service Regiment) as the Australian SASR training regime involves the totality of ground , mountain and maritime special ops as Australia has no Marine corps. The selection process starts with a general special forces selection course which candidates then move on to either selection processes for 2nd Commando Reg. , Special Operations Engineers Reg. or the the top tier SASR .
especially if you stop and look closely at those boards. I am pretty sure some of the clips have been taken from a 100% show and shine recruitment videos.
Every country has their special units and the best out of them is the most secretive. Nothing goes out about their training and their feats , forever shrouded in mystery.
These guys are in the military for a period of time. When they get out, if they get together to rob banks or hijack armored vehicles, they'd be unstoppable
I just have one question, for the thumbnail, why'd you put a buff bodybuilder and a GSG 9 operator facing each other? you could've taken more intimidating ops like those of the SAS or smth, but either way, it conveys the message lol nice video I loved it
The Korean SOF Unit is called 707th Special Missions Group. Pretty hardcore group of Alpha's. Also they don't learn TKD, they learn teukgong moosool mixed with BJJ and Krav Maga .
As a regular US Army infantryman, we practiced entering a second or third story window this way to clear a building. Since I was the lightest one in the squad, guess who got the honor of going first with the pole. We did 13 takes of this for a Dutch TV crew in Hammelburg, West Germany.
Bro actually mentioned the lower rank special forces of other countries. But actually forgot to mention (MARCOS) which is said to be equal in comparison to The Navy Seals or even better .
Yes! And imagine all the missed bullets and all these men get old and imagine the pain and suffering they will have to endure all day every day from all the injuries they will have happen! Yes, great respect for these soldiers for ALL the pain-riddled years they will go through.

Its interesting how the special forces for more authoritarian countries focus more on doing stuff for show, stuff thats meant to suck just because it sucks, not because it actually teaches them anything
(눈‸■)Especially when it comes down to which one you're facing, and I'm not just talking about the USMC AKA the United States Marine Corps., despite the fact that they have A Lot of damage, all the same I wouldn't wanna be facing any of these guys, I once knew a guy who went through rehabilitation, and when a doctor kept increasing the pressure going further up, the man who had rehabilitation by doctor's orders, he swiftly to around to make eye contact with the doctor said that he was in, however the other said that he wasn't at all surprised, or impressed then went even further telling him that should the doctor ever touch him again, his wife and children would be in great danger, but that wasn't all, oh no, no, no, no, no, no, you see from what I've heard the former Marine said that the doctor with an obvious case of selective hearing would be next.🚨
only 1:10 in and can already say everything shown is just flashy, impractical bullshit designed to visually impress, not to be more efficient or effective in any way.
Special forces of most countries are very skilled , intelligent and powerful . It is to these special group of people I salute because as a civilian I get to live and sleep comfortably and enjoy life while they are away from their loved ones and not 👃Thank You 👃
People will say that you don't want to be a part of the special forces because the governments of every country just use you while they sit back and watch. While that is true I always wanted to still join the special forces for the mental toughness. I mean watching everything they go through how physically strong it makes them and mentally tough they become completely fearless regardless of the man standing before them. Imagine how easy it would make all of your problems in everyday life if this had this kind of training was made available for your average person.

I miss my buddies / troops I served with… I could name them all if I wanted to… but for privacy and confidential reasons not to of course… Gosh man… you just sometimes have THE BEST TIME / MOST MEMORABLE experiences in the military… and then it could SUCK in the blink of an eye… or soon……. man… you will meet some of THE BEST people in the military… from all walks of life… different backgrounds… everybody bleeded Green. So many different people in a short but long amount of time… different personalities… you truly understand people better when you get out because you experienced SO MANY PEOPLE AND DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES.
The Bond You Form with the Men and Women in the military (young and old) You Serve with is a BOND LIKE NO OTHER.
And they would let people enter their wide open clear plastic play area on the floor, and you could sit with them as they played, and they would come up to you and were so curious and gentle… Oh man… so many Great memories…
…And then Monday morning… PT or the occasional Real World re-call.
I feel like I am not heard at times… *sigh… I needed to express that……. yeah……. There you go…
Thank you for your service!
I’m a plain civilian. But I passed that underwater helicopter egress training during offshore oil rig duty. I survived 😊
Nice
wait.... underwater helicopters are a thing?
@@Smokey420GreenleafHa ha.
It’s a training to escape from helicopter which has been ditched on water (not crashed). Usually helicopter overturns in that situation - floating for about 10 minutes upside down. We, the passengers have to remove our seat belts, open the windows and wiggle out through them and correctly determine the direction of the water surface and float towards it. All these, while holding breath and fighting panic.
The UK's SAS is incredible also 😮
Yet everything is classified.

It is a waste of time. Accept for the Korean exercises in the beginning.
Green Berets Training is way different from SAS
@@SJW7 Probably right . I think it is the US Army Delta Force that based its system on SAS.
especially if you stop and look closely at those boards. I am pretty sure some of the clips have been taken from a 100% show and shine recruitment videos.
Still not going up against one in a bar. I worked with ROKs in Vietnam and their NCOs beat the crap out of them for very minor issues .
@@arthurbrumagem3844 that's the thing. those boys are impressive enough without the show and shine bs that is part of such videos.

Royal Marines are superb soldiers - pure and simple.

I just have one question, for the thumbnail, why'd you put a buff bodybuilder and a GSG 9 operator facing each other? you could've taken more intimidating ops like those of the SAS or smth, but either way, it conveys the message lol
nice video I loved it
The human body is truly amazing..
The Korean SOF Unit is called 707th Special Missions Group. Pretty hardcore group of Alpha's. Also they don't learn TKD, they learn teukgong moosool mixed with BJJ and Krav Maga

Stop the cap
India have strong SF but better I doubt about it
If it says anything people become MARCOS to prepare themselves for Navy Seal training.
