Anybody can obviously comment what they like but for me, a fan of Rush since 1981,
A Rush Fan Cannot choose a favorite decade they were greatest, or what album was their best, or what songs are better than others, ALL Rush is Awesome!!
    All Rush tunes are Masterpieces!!
    THIS IS MY OPINION.
Just be glad God put these 3 Amazing Artists together.
    God Bless 🙏

Nothing makes old Rush fans happier than seeing new fans having their minds blown by that instrumental break. Lol 🤯😁 (as well as the rest of it).
Controlled musical chaos at it finest. Three simultaneous solos that somehow just blend perfectly. 🤘

Two great points after the song ended: 1) multiple listens required to fully appreciate this band’s instrumental virtuosity and lyrical depth. 2) the instrumental break was insane.

That bassline through the breakdown is one of my favourite pieces of Geddy's work. Starts off solo but he's shredding it behind Alex's solo the whole time. I always tell people stop instinctually listening to the guitar solo for a moment and focus on bass for that whole breakdown. Amazeballs.

    • @tristanrl1940

To be fair- Not many of their peers had prominent bass in the mix. Some bands it’s damn near impossible to even hear the bass! Of course, Mr. Lee is far too good a bass player to allow such a thing to happen to him 😃

The verse is in 13/4 broken down into alternating 6/4, 7/4. The little bridge part is in 5/4 and the solo is in 12/8. They all go off in the solo and Geddy’s bass is just insane there. This is fusion playing all the way.

Thanks for another Rush reaction. I must say Airplay Beats does reactions the right way. Thoughtful comments and insights. There is a lot going on in Rush music, so for a first listen it can be difficult to get the meaning of the lyrics while listening to the complex drumming, bass line, and guitar work. That just means there is a lot to appreciate, on subsequent listens.
For a cool Rush vibe with sparse lyrics, check out Jacob's Ladder off this same album. Its heavy and infectious.

Please finish the rest of this record. It's 🔥. The first song Spirit of Radio is probably their most popular and there is a chance you heard it before.
Rush was influenced by many prog bands like Yes, Jethro Tull, and Genesis but where I think they separate themselves is they play a little heavier and are incredibly complex yet write songs that appeal to the average Joe.

Hey guys, just recently started watching your channel and I like what I've seen so far! I love watching folks discovering Rush! I truly enjoy seeing your journey down the Rush rabbit hole and your just starting to scratch the surface. If I could.make a few selections,(if you read this), side one of 2112 the studio version. You have to listen to side one all in one sit down, it's a concept story so you definitely need to have the lyrics pulled up to understand it. I would recommend you listen to side two another time it's like any other album on that side so you could do just one song at a time then. I also would like to suggest any song off of Moving Pictures until you've listened to the whole album, I believe you've already heard Tom Sawyer, that is off of side one of that record and that imo is the least song off that album! Well guys I appreciate the channel, keep up the good work! Peace out! 👍🔥🇺🇸🎸😎
