  • Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling giving a short talk on practicing the practical applications in Hung Gar forms. He explains the value of Hung Gar Kung Fu, the fighting techniques and basic movements drills which are integrated into our comprehensive forms.
In this short demonstration, Grandmaster Chiu emphasized sidestepping with our stances and delivering consecutive counterattacks from the new position with more advantage. He also taught the participants the purpose of bridge hands movements from the forms in a real fight, with techniques such as sinking bridge, lifting bridge, cutting bridge and beggar hand.
Our forms are the essence of our culture's martial arts. Other people may dismiss the forms as fanciful and see little resemblance to combat. That is why we need to practice its essence and not be contented with just its superficial movements.
Kung Fu instructor Leroy Kwok is leading a group of Hung Gar Kung Fu practitioners, supported by sports science and systematic teaching. To find out more about our lessons, visit our website at www.singaporekungfu.com, or our facebook page at / singaporekungfu
