  • Public Transport from Central Bangkok Asok to Suvarnabhumi Airport. How long does it take and what is the price. I took the BTS from Asok to Phaya Thai and the ARL from Phaya Thai to Bangkok Airport.
    I will tell you the price and where to switch trains. Handy tips for travelers to Bangkok Thailand.
    Bangkok has 2 airportts. Suvarnabhumi is the main Internationl airport where most International travelers arrive. It is easy to catch the train to and from the city.

    The BTS is my favorite way to move around Bangkok 😊. I remember the first time we tried the rail link from the airport, we were a bit skeptical of getting lost but, during our other trips, it was as if we were the locals 😂. Very informative vlog GTM, kudos 👍🏽

    We'll be in BKK for a month and we'll try boat, train, plane, and taxi. We'll check out their Rabbit Card for our travels. We also heard about a Bangkok Smart Pass that lets you see as many attractions as you like Hop-on Hop-off Bus & Boat Tours included.. Great info and thanks for sharing. Happy Autumn from Minnesota!

    Dear Jerome thanks a lot for all the videos you have been offering during these period of time.
    It was soothing.
    And inspiring also.
    Now would be nice if I could go to Thailand and do some tourism in public transport.

    Always use airport link to nana. Next time I’ll get MRT from makasan to sukhomvit (adoke) and walk to soi 13. Only thing is with luggage getting up and down station although there escalators and some lifts. Also have to get from station to hotel and visa Versa. Overall better than taxi though.

    A great option for returning to the airport is taking the train (airport rail link). It's faster and the fare is a standard rate of 45 baht!

    One thing nobody mentions is that most flights from the west coast of the US arrive late in the evening and by the time you could go to the light rail ,it’s stopped running, which doesn’t make a lot of sense as if it ran until 0130, there would be time to make the last train. I usually sleep in the airport on the seats and go in in the morning with all the commuters. Seats are quite comfortable

    • @talladale

      I learned to take a flight from Los Angeles - and this probably applies to most west coast cities - at around midnight or 1am. Even with a stop in Taipei or Hong Kong, etc. this gets me in the day after at around lunchtime. Total flying time about 16 or 17 hours. First time I went to Thailand I went through Tokyo. A long flight to Tokyo and then another SEVEN hour flight to Bangkok. I learned my lesson. Now, I make sure I fly through a city as near to Bangkok as possible!

    • @talladale
      @talladale Рік тому +2

      Thai Airways used to have a non-stop flight from the west coast to Bangkok but now they discontinued it. To the best of my knowledge no airline flies non-stop from L.A. etc to Bangkok.

      When arrive after the train stop you can still take a taxi. No point to run the Airport link after 0130 because BTS and MRT already stop, so no connection in town.

    It's worrying that it's been calculated that many parts of Bangkok will be under water in about fifteen years, and it's not helping that there are hundreds of skyscrapers being constructed. Hundreds of thousands of tons of steel and concrete are accelerating the rate at which Bangkok is sinking. Add to this the fact that Bangkok is already at sea level and you can understand why many parts of Bangkok flood so easily.

    • @globaltravelmate
      @globaltravelmate  Рік тому +1

      No particular reason. The reason for this video was to show the connection at Phaya Thai. I just started from Asok, but if I wanted to start from Nana or Phrom Phong I would have had to take the same route. The connection at Makkasan works fine.

      I think the time difference was not to big. And also that train only went 1 time per 30 minutes. If you miss it, you got stuck on the station and have to wait 30 minutes, missing the point to get to the airport quicker.
