Oh really, what is the BART like? Is it still well maintained? (I heard quite a lot of people, even the local news, talk about SF being in a dreadful state)
@@kylohk You hear correctly: it is old and tired and ill-maintained; few trains on infrequent intervals. quite overpriced even for the shortest ride, too. Even better than BTS, the SRT Red Line is *most impressive*, especially being a completely public project (persevering through all the trials and tribulations of the Kampaeng Phet 6 fiasco).
@@paulsherman51 That's a shame, to think SF used to be the first point of call for many gold rushers, and is the home to loads of tech giants. The SRT Red Line, isn't that the one that leads to the other airport in Bangkok? Also, what's up with this Kampaeng Phet 6 fiasco? I have heard of quite a few political scandals in Thailand over the past few years but not this one.
18:50 At that time, the MRT Yellow Line was under construction. The yellow line is the first monorail line running from Lad phrao to Sam rong. The line operated on 3rd July, 2023
Airport Rail Link (City Line) is the best option for a quick and cost-effective ride from the airport to the heart of the city compared to other commuting options.
Really nice video. 5555 If you had filmed in the other direction between Ramkhamhaeng and Makkasan you would have got my home on camera. 🙂 And for all people visiting Thailand: You really could think Thailand is a Muslim country.... More mosques than temples between Baan Thap Chang and Ramkhamhaeng....
To be honest, I have never checked when I was at the station, as I went straight to the BTS station as soon as I arrived. However, I checked Google Street View of the area around the station and found signs directing people with disabilities. So there must be a lift or at least a ramp somewhere to allow people with heavy luggage to get down to the road beneath the station.
Very useful thanks. I will go to that intersection join the green Sukhumvit line to Ratchayothin BTS. How long did it take approx to go to the intersection?..
Hello! Thanks for commenting. I am actually looking at the video at this moment. As you can see, the train doors closed at 3:44 and opened at Phaya Thai at 30:48, so it takes 27 minutes to travel from one end of the line to another. You are going to Raychayothin? That is one of the newer stations, I have not been there myself! Which hotel do you like to stay in over there?
@@kylohk actually ‘ my friend ‘ lives there with her sister. There are some good priced condos about .. I’m actually going to Phahon Yothin intersection with blue line about 20 mins from Phaya Thai. Staying Lat Phrao area .. so excited. But still 90 days away. The cost was good too. Maybe it’s a bit more than BTS as it’s a airport link train .. she is meeting me at airport. Not sure which exit best to meet. Someone said exit 3/4? I don’t know. Maybe a shop or kiosk .. thanks for reading
@@jonhobson3592 Lat Phrao, huh? Yes, there is quite a grand shopping centre called Central Plaza Ladprao, I enjoy eating at the restaurants there, especially at the ones with a good view of the outside. The adult fare of ฿45 is consistent with the BTS Skytrain when you take the distance into account. I prefer to stay near the Siam shopping area, so this train is a good choice for me. Anyways, you can see right at the start of this video is an exit with a large number 5 on it. It did not take me more than a minute to reach the escalator to the basement from there, so maybe it is a good idea to meet up at Exit 5 of the airport if you would like to take this train?
It is indeed a Class 360, albeit with 3 cars and different traction motors. The trains that LNR operate are Class 350 - which is practically identical to a Class 360, apart from the fact that 350s have gangways, 360s don’t. The Class 360 units are currently in operation with East Midlands Railway (EMR) on their ‘Connect’ services - the subtype that EMR has is 360/1, of which there are 21 4 car units. Rail Operations Group has 5 360/2 subtypes, which are 5 car units and currently in storage.
@@brunaskarting116 Ah, just happened to have spotted your comment. For me, the "ding, ding" sound made whenever the doors open sounded very familiar. Of course, the doors open automatically on these trains and there is no need to press a button. That being said, would you ride this train if you were to fly to Bangkok?
Yes absolutely. The Class 360 is a very solid train. That said, there is currently a lot of controversy in the UK because EMR’s Class 360s arrived from their previous Train Operating Company in poor condition and, 2 years later, they are still unrefurbished (indeed, no refurbishment contact has been signed yet). So, because the Bangkok Airport 360s seem to be in good condition, I would prefer to travel on them instead of the EMR ones!
Love from Thailand! 🇹🇭🇹🇭
That was one of the most scenic trips ever, thanks for taking us along.
It has been a while. How's everything? Keeping well?
Really spectacular. Both system and video. BTS and ARL both modeled after BART in the S.F. Bay Area.

does the elevator/lift goes down until the main road of phayathai station? If not, is there an escalator going down (if we have big luggages)? Thanks!

It does feel like the typical train used by London Northwestern Railway.
