We sold this house last year, but the floor held up so, so well in our Wisconsin basement with 5 kids and a dog. 😜 We had it for 4 years and we were rough on it. Plus, the wall leaked with rain water many times and it was still almost perfect. Good luck with your project!

Wow! Your floor looks spectacular! You must have the patience of a saint to take on such a huge project! If you don't mind me asking, how long from beginning to end (not counting the wait for the stencil) did this take to complete? Are you considering painting your door a charcoal gray? With your talent and patience, that would be the cherry on top!

I think you can use any color! I highly recommend the chalk paint and poly that I used to seal it. I painted another cement floor black (not chalk paint) and sealed it with a concrete sealer instead and it’s not holding up nearly as well.

I’m so happy with it, I’m considering doing my kitchen or bathroom. The key to making it last is to just make sure you seal it with the poly I have linked in the description box. 😊
