    New Distributor from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ic/1AEDI00129
The ignition distributor is responsible for delivering electricity to the right spark plug at the right time. A failed or damaged distributor will either lead to rough running or misfires, or an engine that won't start or can't run. This video shows you how to install a new distributor assembly in your 1995-2000 Chevy Tahoe.

Not the best install video for those seeking guidance...when replacing a vortec v8 distributor follow these tips
    1. Remove cap and plug wires and cam sensor connector at rear of distributor
    2. Remove distributor. hold bolt and clamp
    3. Remove distributor via the distributor body (not the rotor) allowing the rotor to move ccw as it follows the driven gear up and out.
    REPLACEMENT
    1. Set number 1 cyl. to TDC, When I work alone I use a 2 ft. length of hose to stab into spark plug hole and put other end in my mouth allowing me both hands to turn the crank until it begins to inflate my mouth confirming I'm at TDC on the compression stroke then I refer to the line on the crank and notch on engine and continue turning the crank slowly until they line up.
    2. With distributor in hand as a close reference I put the cam sensor at about 2 o'clock and the rotor pointing at about 3 or 330 just as a preliminary setting
    3. Notice the flat spot on the distributor. Housing, this should be somewhat parallel with the lower intake housing after distributor is down so again after you allow the driven gear to pull the rotor clockwise and when the distributor is set your two landmarks are
    A. The distributor. body flat area should be close to parallel with the intake
    B. The rotor should be pointing to the no.1 cylinder and you should have it but let me inform you on a vortec this is just a base setting and an engine scanner with "cam retard" capability to fine tune turn the distributor to + or - 2 degrees as per spec.....if any more than this you'll probably get your po1345 code back....hope this helps yall

As far as the distributor sitting down all the way don't worry about that if it doesn't seat down all the way but lines up to no. 1 your good....the gears have meshed all u need to do is slowly turn the crank and soon the distributor will "drop" into place then clamper down

So what did you do between 5:20-5:25 to align the rotor to your yellow mark? Did you have to lift the distributor back out and retry so when the gear pivots it aligns to the yellow mark? Or did I miss something?

I just installed a new distributor. Top dead center on compression stroke as it should be.
Rotor pointing towards the #1 cylinder as it should be
But my obd reader says the timing advance is negative 24
    and vacuum is negative 19.
It starts good and runs ok... but i feel like something is wrong. Am i a tooth off?
