This is unironically what modern warfare will be like. Both sides using drones to look around angles you wouldnt have been able to before. Real war is getting very video gamey. Next thing on the list: HUDs for every soldier.
Artillery from WOT with top-down view is a thing today. Hell, this shit is even more OP in real life since IRL it can spot targets on its own.

it is allready a thing to the drone link to a tank to using drone to communicate with a tank just see the Ukraine-Russian conflict both side used this more for artillery but some time they use it for the tank
There is HUD for infantry. It can detect friend or foe. But I don't know if it's been used cause it's only experimental some time ago.
@@TestSubjectCocoit was temporarily canceled for making soldiers nauseous but a couple months ago a new version got approved and production is supposed to be around 2025. The new version is supposed to also incorporate cloud computing so they can offload the computation off device for better compute and battery life.

Playing games in 3rd person honestly makes the experiences seem way less serious and stressful compare to 1st person, really fitting for casual play.

We need more games where third person view is a physical drone that fly around the map, but other players could shoot down.
Nah the drone would be 2nd person view. (Drone PoV but your vehicle still moves)

Mechwarrior Online (WoT-like) kind of does this: you can deploy a 3rd-person drone, but it hovering above you with its light on makes it much easier to spot you.
War thunder has that feature where u can use the recon drone for you and your teammates to know where the enemy is and send artillery (more like you send your shells over there)
I got some stuff going on in personal life so I had to take a bit of a break, but videos should hopefully come out a bit faster now :p

We've been using 3rd person to aid us ever since we've been able to get live sat feed from space. It's only getting better and better.

I remember being so disillusioned with good ground vehicle players in Battlefield as a teen when I learnt they basically all play in 3rd person with the fov cranked all the way up. 😂

Okay, tank viewing drones is now an explanation I want to use in a milsim type game.
Maybe the drone has a charge where eventually you'll have to bring it back down and use first person again.
If it's milsim, the tank would just have 3 drones, and cycle them whenever one runs low on power rather than having a gamist approach of "this feature needs to have limiting factors".
Of course, the drone getting shot down would be annoying, but if an enemy focuses down the drone instead of dealing with the tank that's already half a win.

Fun fact: it's like this in reality already. Ukrainian tankers are using drones for situation awareness and NLOS fire correction.

There are benefits to crewing a Western tank
Had the drone the whole time and didn't even know about it. Sure would have reduced the tension and made fighting a lot easier. That's pretty much how it is in third person, less stress more/easier ways to combat the enemy.

I unironically want a third person drone for when I'm driving a car. And that's something I thought of before watching this.
It's been done, results are mixed lotta training is needed
It might gonna make you nauseous, even if the lag is super minimal between drone and interior display. Better off to just have a middle/center seat steer car like a McLaren F1 or GMA T50 but for normal cars in terms of regular car driving if you have difficulties keeping straight on the road or need to see incoming from both sides
GUYS, EPIC IDEA: A gun that empties all of its recoil 1 minute after firing, so for 1 minute it has no recoil or bounce, but at the end of that minute all the recoil comes out in one huge burst.
Do you know what recoil is and how that works in physical space or are you joking? I genuinly cannot tell.

This reminds me when we all were playing Arma, I had my own server in my room at my parents house lol. The guys always wanted to play as realistic as possible so one day I turned off 3rd person mode. Everyone was complaining until I told them that they wanted it realistic and now they had it.
As a former 19k, I will admit that we did resort to using the 3rd person drone a few times.

Mechwarrior Online actually does show a little drone behind you ‘Mech when you enter third person. It’s a fun little detail that in more competitive play means you have to trade off being easier to spot for the expanded view.
I really love when the creators I subscribe to get their money by showing us the ads in an interesting way. He could have easily just spammed the standard WORLD OF TANKS ad we always see on other channels, but he incorporated it into the Hootiverse and did what he had to do (make money with ads) but while keeping us entertained. That takes effort and time on the creator's part, and not every creator does it. THANKS!

Funny enough, in Mechwarrior Online (giant Mechs, based on an old SciFi IP) 3rd person was implemented like this years back. Gave a huge back lash (previousely only 1st person was available) as many old players saw it as inherently wrong to play like this, even when advantage of seeing around corners and over hill tops was reduced by giving the drone a red blinking light. This way you could scout but also you basically screamed out your position, but what irked many people back then that it just felt...wrong in a game that otherwise is largely about smulation more then fast paced action.
I think the majority of players stuck with 1st person after this, just as the mech gods intended. The cockpit models are really well done anyway.
The lore goes even deeper with soldiers in infantry companies, you should make a video on that next
