I'd love to see a video where you try each of the products from your testing zone, like primers - one each day for a week, just doing an end of day thoughts type speed review. 7 speed reviews in one video... or something like that :)

IDEA FOR EXPIRATION** - when you open a mascara or eyeliner you should use the masking tape to write the expiration date on so then you know when it should be tossed
Another idea would be to put the date you opened it, since per law every make-up product needs to have an expiration date. It's usually a little signal with a number and M(standing for months) ,so for example 9M.
I literally just use Sharpie, but yes
I like this idea! Putting the date to throw it out, rather than when you opened it. Makes it much easier to do as you live your life!
I write it down on my phone
I feel like you should start putting like a smiley face sticker on products you like and frowny faces on ones you don’t to help you member what you thought!
I have a notebook of what I think of the products I've used. You could try that as well!
My don’t likes go from my vanity were it sits on the day I wear it to a nope box at the end of my trying it out period then off to family and friends who want it so it doesn’t get wasted. Really helps when you are a makeup shopper that don’t really need it cause you got so much but just can’t help yourself like myself lol

Considering how much makeup she tests for her channel that would probably be impossible.
That’s what I had to do!
She could designate a “tester” bin and then get rid of those items as soon as she’s done testing them, or keep the few items she truly loves and add them to her permanent collection. Influencers don’t have to be hoarders to test new things 🤷🏻♀️ Plus, decluttering items right away means there’s a better chance they’ll still be safe for someone else to use, vs. letting them sit for months and possibly go rancid...
@@justanotheranonymousaccoun6365 YUP! Totally agree. I still think about how I would deal with all of the PR, and I'd have to say that I'd kindly tell most of them to stop or automatically donate. I personally don't understand keeping so much. Like if it's all new stuff every two weeks, that seems like a good minimum rather than one video. I used to go through a foundation and powder every month due to working often, and 12 of each kind of makeup item seems pretty good!

Yeah I think it’s no fun when they do time lapses with music, I like to watch this on the background, I’m not staring at a time lapse for 30 mins 😅

Obsessed with these declutter videos. Your empty drawer (s?) could be where you keep all the unopened for family. So all in one drawer and no go here for this and there for that.

Idea for lipstick drawer: since you mostly wear nudes a drawer for nudes and then one drawer for your darks, pinks and reds with dividers :)

Maybe have a drawer that is stuff that family and friends can go to to shop in. That way you can point them to one drawer and its all organize plus they don't try to take your favorites that you want for yourself. LOL.

Anytime I feel moderately guilty about having too much makeup, watching a makeup declutter makes me feel better 😅
I feel the same when I feel guilty about having 37 different fancy mustards. If Rach can have 600 highlighters and only one face, I can have as many fancy mustards as I want. 🤣

Honestly, such mad respect for you purging old makeup. So many people keep things to say that they have a bunch even though it’s not good anymore. And I’m sure that was the hardest thing ever. V proud

If you ever feel stressed about decluttering because you think “well what if I regret getting rid of that thing” the BEST way is to declutter and move everything you want to get rid of but keep it for a few days/weeks to see if you reach for it, if not, OFF IT GOES!

I was crying as you were tossing the eyeliners. I just wanted to yell through the screen, "don't throw them away if they're still creamy, just sharpen them down and they're still usable"

Great job... It was courageous... You may keep all your brow, eye liners and mascaras in one drawer by adding small containers in it. You will empty 2 drawers that way.

I have a 2-step priming & mascara routine. Primer: MILK Hydro grip on top of moisturizer. Give it a minute to soak in then add Farsali skintune blur on my T-zone. My Holy grail combo since 2019!
Mascara: Maybelline lash paradise on upper lashes. Benefit Roller Lash in bottom lashes. I've been using the same mascara combo for years. I have other mascaras I like but thats my Go-To, never fails, combo.

The J.One Jelly Primer is AMAZING under the eyes. It will erase every crease you've ever had.
That Colourpop Pretty Fresh primer is one of my all-time favorites. I LOVE it. My eyes went immediately to it when the drawer opened.
LOVE these videos, Rachel! An idea for the lips: either have all lips in one drawer with 4 dividers for each color category, or downsize to 2 drawers, 1 for nudes and pinks, another for reds and darks. I recently organized my pantry and it's almost been 3 months since decluttering my closet so I'm excited to do another round when spring comes!

This was so satisfying to watch.
I put all my items that I’m not feeling positive about in a “maybe box”. I set the timer on my phone for 2 months to check inside said box. And voilà I’m in love with them again. Sometimes it’s just not fun to see neon and hot pink or bright color shades in winter and by Spring I’m excited again.
Love decluttering!! It’s like a cleanse for your soul 😌 You should create a drawer of extras that’s just dedicated to friends and family away from your big drawers that way it’s out of your originals and ends up looking like less and so the teeny boxes don’t take up space in the originals.

You should keep a note in each drawer with your thoughts on the product and the date you tested it so you can relate back to that next time you do a declutter

Not exactly decluttering but I've been redecorating my downstairs and I feel so much better for it! I will be starting to declutter soon though, I have some drawers and rooms in mind
I just organized and cleaned out my pantry. Took all the shelves out and everything and it is SO GOOD! I have smiled every time I open the door!
I just did my cupboards recently after I got a step ladder 😂 so much better now! Makes me happy too! ❤

Decluttering inspiration! I am currently decluttering expired makeup and A LOT of clothes and shoes!
I'm not organized at all but watching your video helped me start throwing away my really old stuff!!
I literally played both parts while cleaning my own house. I was like “if she can do it I can!”
I also usually feel an urge to declutter around springtime. I tried to do so with my single eyeshadows, but I found that I get a lot of use from most of them and the other are still ones that I like and will use, so that wasn’t what you’d call fruitful. Instead, what I’ve decided to do is put away the products I tend to just reach for out of instinct so I can get more use from the other ones that I also like but don’t use as often.

I love watching these for two reasons. One I don't have quite the collection as I'm not on YT. Two it makes me want to re-evaluate my own collection!
I just finally caved and got the Milk Hydrogrip primer a few weeks ago and I really have seen a huge difference in the longevity of my makeup. I focus it in the t-zone and definitely recommend for oily/combo skin types!
I thought I had a lot of mascaras in until I saw Rachel open the drawer and I went holy crap that’s a lot.
Just an idea but you could get little bins or something to separate everything so they don’t just slide around when you open and close the drawers

I love declutter videos, I don’t know why I find them so calming! Also, it gives me the support system to actually do the same and try to get rid of the things I do not need... but I honestly almost never do much with my makeup collection, but then I have so many other things around the house that deserves the attention 😂
I find this fascinating. I’m 70 and have never even heard of some of these beauty products. What would be really helpful for me would to watch you put on all of your makeup one day and explain what each product is and why you use it. Then if you could tell us what someone like me could use if we don’t want to use all of the products that you use. Thanks!

Putting a label on your mascaras with the date you opened them will help you cycle through them better. I only have a few open at a time. One super black (usually waterproof) , one brown and one to try out a new release.

For drugstore powders, I can't replace my original L'Oreal True Match powder foundation. It adds a bit more coverage while leaving an airbrushed finish that only gets dry looking if you seriously overapply.
The Flower Beauty setting spray has THE BEST fine mist sprayer! I used mine up and had other setting sprays so I put the other sprays into the Flower bottle!

When you clean out your drawers, it would be helpful to have a bin that you have labeled to retest so you know that you want to retest those makeup products. That way they don't get mixed in with the ones you already know that you like.

Thai inspirers me to go through mine during my week off from work (which is much needed as I am considered an essential employee). I actually recently bought the full size of the gentry powder (butter) after loving the mini! I really like the way it makes my skin look immediately after applying and throughout my day.
