I totally agree with the frustration of Sony not providing enough updates for current releases. I also can see it from their side. It does make me hesitant to upgrade to new models though because a) they release so many models each year and b) there's a feeling of FOMO on the new models if you upgrade at the wrong time.
That’s negative thinking. Buy and use. Don’t think like accountant. You are creative. Not accountant. Buy to create. Trade in camera when it no longer allows you to create what you want. If new models allows you to create even more buy it and trade in old camera. So you will lose some money. So what. Are you an accountant or creative

If they weren’t still selling the a7siii and A1 for msrp then I’d say sure, you could justify them not doing updates. But meanwhile the lumix gh5 got several very important updates over the years some paid and some free, that drastically improved the camera, while the msrp kept dropping.
The Sony a1 and a7siii also use similar if not identical processors to their latest cameras (minus the AI chip) that should allow most if not all the features being released (again outside of AI).

I love how everyone wanted the features from the a7siii/fx3 in a more budget camera for half the price, so Sony gave it to them but now $2k is too expensive 🤷.

I just bought the A7S III in December, of course, it is annoying that they release new "better" cameras, but I am really happy with mine. I bought it 2 years after the release and it was kind of "old", still, I am super happy with it and there will always be a newer camera, all equipment will feel "old" no matter what.

Same, bought mine in December as well. I can’t say I would consider it “old” just because most of the video features are still top notch on this day and age (unless you go with something like FX6 or those cinema specific cams). I feel the quality that the A7SIII produces will be relevant still for a few more years
@@nayibgonzalez3250 yes I agree with you, it is mostly the body that is a good or bad thing. The sensor is amazing. I needed or wanted the viewfinder as I am used to having one, so the A7s III was my best alternative, if I could choose again, I think I still would have gone for the A7S iii
I too bought mine in December. I got really lucky. I got a steep discount ($700). I've been wanting this camera for a long time. The other 2 are good, but I like my A7S3 the best.
I bought mine nearly two years ago. None of these new cameras entice me unless they release a Sony A2. The new ZVE1 doesn’t have a front wheel and feels a little too small. I had a 6600 before and my hand was hurting because my pinky had nowhere to grip.
For film makers the out of date E-mount is the Achilles heal of the Sony IBIS system. E-mount was launched in 2010 for the APS-C NEX cameras and Sony engineers decided to stuff the full frame sensor in it in 2013 before IBIS was the norm.
Now it is clear that for full frame hybrid shooters Sony IBIS is not up to the mark of Panasonic IBIS or any other IBIS in a full frame mirrorless system, so the only trick left for the Sony engineers to try to compete is the E-stabilisation with the horrendous crop.
I bought my a7siii knowing that it will be able to last me at least 5 years as my main camera. I got it right when it was released and still serves me well. Of course there is always going to be new and better features every year (its just the way technology is), but that doesn't mean it still isn't doing what I need it to do and very well. I couldn't imagine how they could make the AF better and they are doing it! I can't be mad about that, I am excited! Thats why I picked Sony to invest in because they are always innovating and I feel like they aren't going to stop! That is exciting! Like you said, the camera still serves me well and until it dies I don't feel a need to chase the next big feature (although doing UA-cam, it makes you want to get every camera because well......thats more content you can do lol) Anyways great thoughts and great video!
I'd have to say I agree.. I'm also waiting to see what they do with the FX line. I've been on the fence about making the plunge and adding the FX3 to go with my A7IV as I'm getting more into commercial work but feel like as soon as I do, they'll announce a Mk. II version. It will be interesting to see where Sony goes in the next year or so.

I will also say that it’s getting closer and closer to RED’s internal RAW recording patent to expire which lines up with Sony’s next line of cinema cameras to be projected for release which makes me think that if they ever release a Sony A7sIV, it would have to have internal RAW recording to really be an upgrade from the A7siii.

It is about FOMO ( Fear Of Missing Out). If your equipment is working you don't need new equipment unless you can afford it or out growth your current equipment.
It's just about the small ridiculous things like the A7IV having animal eye autofocus for video, or focus breathing comp for video, or AF assist for video, etc etc. While the A7Siii still doesn't have these features after 1.5 years since the A7IV release.
So buy the iv

I think it's really unfortunate that there's so much animosity among Sony users who are using different bodies. It's like a nasty nasty sibling rivalry of who's better than the other. Sadly, I think the gas gets poured on the fire when some (not all) content creators come out with content that blatantly bashes the previous model, or overstates new features to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I bought my a7SIII when they were released and have loved it from day 1 but shortly after they released the FX3. Would the FX3 have served me better in the long run? Probably. Did me sticking with the a7SIII prohibit me from doing any of the work I did as compared to if I had switched to the FX3? Nope, not at all. I think it's an awesome problem to have so many choices! I currently shoot on the Alpha 1 photo primary, B-cam video, along side my a7SIII A-cam video and backup photo (which it does incredibly well). My only true complaint is the lack of firmware support from Sony. It's almost ALMOST enough to send me packing back to Cannon... but then it's not hard to remember what value Sony brings to the table despite not maintaining firmware updates! As for an a7SIV??? Absolutely, they will 100% without a doubt bring the a7SIV to life. Sony is and always will be about redundancy, they want every inch covered and will duplicate cameras in different categories to cover their ground. For their company it's one camera with a few minor cosmetic variances or a different chip etc etc. Think of the a7SIII, instead of only offering one package to one group of customers, they now offer three packages to three different groups all stemming from essentially one camera. Without seeing their numbers I'd imagine they didn't have to increase their overhead too much to expand the a7SIII into two more markets ie cinema and content creators. It's a great time to be a photographer/videographer!!! Think about this, 10 years ago to get the kind of features we have in a $2k-$3k camera body would have cost you $50k-$100k in a cinema camera. At then end of the day it's really not about which camera you buy, it's about what you do with it!
For me someone who started in video but has found themselves doing more photography, but still a hybrid shooter, I’m passing on the ZV-E1 purely on the form factor. I want that bigger grip, I want that view finder and the dual card slots. The tech is fine, but the form factor doesn’t fit my preferences. I’m rocking my A7IV and about to buy another. Best bang for buck right now in my opinion.
I shoot more video than photos but still use both. Ordered this guy today to be used as my b cam for videos. I don’t really use the view finder. Dual Sd is cool but I can live without it. For the image it produces I think it’s worth it
FX3 with shutter angle and internal ND with the current software of the latest camera would pretty much do it for me. :)
I love the price point of the ZVE1 compared to the S3, but I do like the photography side of the S3.
I 100% share your love for small and lightweight cameras. That was why I once changed to Sony. I was a bit disappointed to see the cameras grow with every iteration.
However, I use the viewfinder a lot, particularly for reviewing when it is really bright outside. I'm not sure if I could really work with a display only camera. An external display makes things way heavier bulkier and complicated again, so that is not an option for my preferred way of shooting. So I guess I just can't have it all. Too bad 😬🤣
I think in short, if you do client work get a fx3 or a7siii if you can get a deal on price. If your are doing your own UA-cam or person brand content, the ZVE1 may be a better fit.
I was torn between the A7RV (trade in my A7RIV), the A7 IV, A7SIII, FX3 or FX30. I have hired the FX30 last weekend and this camera combined with the 12-24 or 24-105 lens is a beast. The FX30 has all the features I am looking for, price included. I will dive in the ZV line to see if it offers more for the price. Still a 400 Euro's in price difference.

Firmware Updates is really the only conversation
In the past 4 years I upgraded 3 times. Went from a6400 (sony shooter because of you) to buy another a6400 used, to an a7iii (upgrade to fullframe), to now the FX3 . The FX3 became my work horse and is the ultimate upgrade for me I could afford. I do not think the a7s series will continue because sony has already invested a lot into the FX line and I believe they ll upgrade the FX series rather than the 7s series. Great video. Aloha
Great video as always Peter! My new dream set up is definitely the ZV-E1 with the 16-35 for Vlogging! But until I have the funds to get it I will continue to use the ZV-E10 to it's full potential 💪
But a lot of owners of the A7SIII and the A1 are serious upset because the new is half the price and can donsonmuch more.
But when is the fx3 mk2 gonna be released? Because for today I prefer this over the fx3. It’s literally half the price🫣
Good video Peter! I've posted on a few of the ZVE-1 videos already. It's a great camera with some very cool new functionality. It doesn't suit me RIGHT NOW. I am fairly new and started with the ZVE-10 which I really enjoy using. That is my "run & gun" quick videos, street photography, wildlife, and gimbal camera and suits my needs. I also shoot with an A7IV for professional photos and videos. This is my main Hybrid camera. I have quick release rigs for each of them. I have no need to upgrade YET, although I see the ZV1 has some great options. For me, I think I'd rather get an FX-30 due to shooting long videos in the sun here in South FL, and I need the internal fans to keep it cool. I constantly worry about overheating with the two I have, and I fear the ZVE-1 will be very similar. As a "tech geek" I love to know what the latest and greatest is, but my budget doesn't always allow for it...haha.
I pre ordered the zv e1. I’m excited, and I WILL be using it for professional work. Not vlogging😅

The thing is, right now is a golden age for video and cinema camera selections. We reached a point where all sensors are amazing they are so sharp and detailed people need to get old crappy glass to break appart the image a little bit so it doesnt look that perfect. When I started as a filmmaker the only options available was miniDV or BetaCam for digital video. The only option available for "cinematic look" was super16 or 35mm film and that was expensive and complicated to work with most times even if you did things right on set the LAB could mess up your material when processing and dont get me started on editing on a moviola.
Now you can get a $2000USD mirrorles camera and get an image really close to a $50K cinema camera if you know what you´re doing. For me that´s what I dreamed of as a film student.
Well said, however Sony Tech Engineers certainly know how to produce and release A+ products with ALL of their cameras. They have extensive experience with heat sink and cooling fan systems. Yeah, I went to film school too when 16mm film cost a fortune to shoot. One thing though, I NEVER had overheating problems with the cameras, just with the $$ burning right through my wallet. 😎😎
@@gbwalther2024 Oh, yeah! You got that right, you can shoot on desert under melting hot sun with an ARRI 16RS3 and it would keep rolling.
Man, those are exactly the same thoughts i have at the moment. I still have the A7s (mark1) and since the A7s3 came out, there is nothing else i wish more to own. But now all those new Sony cameras came out wich make me struggle like hell. As i´ve seen the functions of the A7IV, i start to wonder if that choice may would be better for me, because beside filming, i do also Photos. And 33 Megapixels are better than my current 12 Megapixels for that use. Also the Lowlight-performance seems to be pretty good with the A7IV. Beside this fact, the Cinetone Profile and the breathing compensation are stuff that i would love to have, but the A7s3 doesn´t have... I even love to cut SloMo.. that´s why i would prefer the 4k 120fps of the A7s3. But at last i know, that for a clean SloMo you need to have at least 60fps, wicht the A7IV does....Man... can you feel my struggle?
Now that Panasonic fixed their focusing issues its lit a fire under Sony's arse.
It will be interesting to see how the other camera companies react. Mainly Sony.
For me its a hash up between getting the next Sony or next Panasonic camera that gets released with filmmakers in mind.
My prediction is that Panasonic will release a camera with top end specs at a much more affordable price and Sony will want to keep their higher prices so will be forced to start adding even more features often seen in cinema-line cameras.
I am sitting here looking at a Lumix S5 IIx on the desk in front of me and waiting with bated breath for the SH1 mk2. That will be a nail driver in the coffins of many cameras if this S5 IIx is an example. The Canon R6mk2 is already hammering Sony now Panny boy?
Agreed! I think Sony needs to streamline their video centric cameras. With the ZV-E1 having all these features, it could only mean that the next FX3 model should bump up most of these specs (bit color, frame rates, resolution, etc.), I for one am excited for this. Right now it’s just mind boggling having 3 cameras practically similar but at different price points.
The issue with this camera is that is marketed as a "Vlogger" Camera but 3x the price of their past vlogging ones, at that price, I don't think it is accessible to everyone! Especially not new/ beginners

Sony a7Siv with stacked 12MP sensor that can have DOUBLE the ISO performance of the current sensor is the way to go forward for a7S/FX3/FX6 lineup. Rolling shutter going from a great 8.7ms in video mode to below 4ms or faster than Sony Venice 2 3.7ms? Also 4K@240fps, 1080p@480p (true 1080p, not 806p). The camera already shoots beyond "4K" which is 3.84K while the sensor downsamples from 4.24K. Faster rolling shutter and even better ISO performance should always be a7S/FX3/FX6 main goals for proper 4K production. 6K and 8K are great but you can't have them all.
S series can become the true hybrid if its a 6k sensor, since you will get the same body with a great evf, a mechanical shutter, great photo and video capabilities. the only true hybrid right now is the A1, which is the flagship. This ZV-E1 is video camera (great for what it's created for in the first palce, but a far cry from a workhorse), but lacks in photgraphy department. The 7R5 is photo first flagship but the crop factors and rolling shutter are not ideal for video. The 7IV is once again photo first, but entry level, while the FX line will be video first flagship, so what we are missing is the true successor of the 7III, which can be the new S.
Just because you never use an EVF doesn't mean others don't. I use an EVF for video all the time in bright outdoor situations and obviously for stills. The A7S series is the low-light hybrid camera. It will continue. FX3/FX30 is cinema line hybrid with active cooling for long format high bitrate high frame rate video. The ZVE1 is high end specs but in consumer grade body for affordability. It also has severe overheating in 10-bit codecs making it unreliable as an A-cam for pro shooting. Sony are very clever at segmenting products so that one doesn't cannibalise the other even if on paper it appears like there is some overlapping.

@@PeterLindgren1 All good, just responding to your opinion and giving you mine. We don't have to agree. I've been shooting Sony long enough to understand how they are positioning this camera within their line-up. And even though I haven't used the camera, I have watched all the reviews some of which clearly talk about the severe overheating when recording in high bitrate codecs like XAVC-I. Dan Watson got the camera to overheat in FIVE minutes outdoors. Short Circuit got it to overheat in 15 minutes indoors at 20 Celsius (4K60p using the highest codec). This is quite alarming for pro usage and something to consider before recommending to sell off your A7S3/FX3 that both have bigger bodies and passive/active cooling systems. Just trying to add some food to the conversation you started!

I Mean. they're not gonna add AI into the old molds. But pretty much all the other stuff should be added via firmware to the older models. There's no reason they can't bring that upgraded stabilization to the old models because it is simply using clear image zoom and it's all software based.
And importing LUTs should be standard on any camera that can shoot video....and especially any camera that can do slog.
But ya, the main thing that will be the big additional feature in the future will be internal NDs in some form.
I prefer the body of the siii. Not enough buttons and dials on the new one.
The ZVE1 solidified my decision to switch over to the S5ii. For value for the money, and as someone who is using it professionally for client work it just makes way more sense.
if you shoot "professionally" you shouldn't even look at the ZV.....so I don't understand how the ZV made you even more certain to switch to S5II.
@@dottorcarlone was considering the ZV as the Bcam to my A7Siii… instead, sold the A7 and bought 2 S5ii.
If they are not going to put out firmware updates they should stop selling it. I bought my A7S III in mid-2022 and there have been 0 firmware updates since then. Not happy!
Sir the country where im living we have temp goes like 40°C-45°C so how as a vlogger I can use this camera. I m just youtuber travel vlogger not a professional still i hve a doubt about this situations
I bet I could do all the documentaries and stuff that I now make with the FX3 and the A7S3 using just a pair of ZV-E1, delivering the same quality. I think that is great! and it's cheap!

Can Sony just spend our money wisely and update the firmware on their flagship models, instead of throwing up minor technical advancements in updated designs.

Good stuff. Did you ever look into firmware updates based on the processors i the camera? The new processors appear to be more powerful with added features the old processor doesn't have. even you are not looking inside the body like I do with my computers. A good example is the advances made in video cards. New cards can do things the old cards can't and no amount of software updates will bring an old card up to the standards of the new cards. Same with camera and you must address the Bionz X and the Bionz XR. Then your argument and hit on Sony sounds hallow.
The XR is more capable than the X. It's that simple.
I've been having fun watching videos like this discussing the different cameras. I come from the day of the Pentax Spotmatic F, Nikkormat, Canon FTb, Minolta, etc. I find it crass on many people's parts complaining about today's cameras. They are so different from what I used in the past. I'm amazed at the features, the lenses, the bodies, etc. It's a whole different ballgame. I think you need to simplify the two types of bodies, those with an EVF and those without. I shot stills and have no real use for the ZV or FX so I have the A7R3 and A74 along with my trusty a6600. They do video, but they do Stills very well. So, have fun with that.
would you be able to shoot short films with the zv-e1?? the only thingn that makes me not get that camera is because it can't Record in Raw(with for example Atomos Ninja V) & has low mbits for 4k-24-30-60-120..
Buy the SIII or FX3 if you want RAW

I love the ZV-E1as it would do the job for me. I am mainly a still shooter with an A7RIV but have shot two videos with a Sony A6000 and Fuji FX-30 and one with my A7RIV. The features I see in the ZV would have made my life a lot easier when I did those videos. Not in a hurry to get one immediately but if I get a call for another video, I will pick one up. The better focusing, fully articulating screen and the dynamic stabilizer features alone are worth the price. You hard core video guys know a lot more about these stuff. I am only a newbie!

sometimes it`s frustrating see new cameras just few weeks after you bought new camera but it happens with all things. But I believe that people who bought FX30 which is old only few weeks must be mad now 😅 Im owner of FX3 and these new cameras doesnt hurt me because I endlessly love my FX3
Sorry but a viewfinder is essential, there is a reason why cinema cameras have the option to use viewfinders. And the problem is even worse on Sony with such bad screens.

Yeah i agree. Sony will draw line that will make their camera distinguished for it's use. Cinema line should only have their own settings just for cinema line and a7siii should also have it's own vs a7 and a7r series. Otherwise they should remove one to just make one camera video first only and photo first only. No more hybrid. Because hybrid is kinda shortening the gap between the two. So if im not gonna be using it for pro works which most people are then most sales will go to hybrid. But because of the pandemic so many people turns into vloggers so sales went up to video first camera therefore sony made this zve10, zv1f and zve1. So now they are targeting all. Just wish they should have just give proper firmware updates for their flagship cameras that's been let alone during pandemic not to mention the a6600 that can be updated to have catalyst browse integration. It's possible since they put it on rx0ii which is month older than a6600. Also they should put a firmware update to have additional settings on their apsc camera to be able to manually select 1:1 4k ratio or 6k oversampling to help with rolling shutter. As with the a7iv the sensor shift into 1:1 4k when fitted with apsc lens therefore improving the rolling shutter versus the fx30 because fx30 still uses the 6k oversampling.
When Sony had released their new processor, to me it was a signal that they were ceasing any attention to previous generations in order to focus on what’s ahead for them. This may be the end of the S series which the a7siii would actually be a great send off. Looking forward to seeing what they do with an updated FX3 maybe 5 years down the road.
It would be interesting to see your take on how you would rig out the ZV-E1 to be more of a production camera. Assuming you're primarily using it for 4k 24fps short films. From cage to audio.
I was going to ditch my fx30 that its my B camera, because I thought the price was going to be less. In Denmark is actually going to be more expensive than the 7IV
I got my FX3 used for $2700 (just $300 more than the ZVE1 after tax). Its never been a better time to get absolute DEALS on the fx3 and a7siii.
Only one single thing that matters is certain: There will *ALWAYS* come a better camera with some new, must have features next year ;) And if it’s a must have then sell the current camera and buy the new one - then someone will win by getting a great camera for a slightly lower price, and you (not you specifically Peter, but the owner of the owner of the camera) will have the latest and greatest :) Win/Win-ish for everyone - if one wants to stay on top, one has to play the game ;) And if one can’t afford to play the upgrade game, then create with what you got. A bit harsh (and tongue in cheek) but having all the features all the time, always, is never going to happen, so we are doomed anyway :)
@Peter Lindgren thank you. So true what you're saying about what camera works for different ppl. Question Peter, does the ZV-E1 have the option in S&Q mode to shoot 1080@100fps 10bit 4.2.2 and 1080@50fps 8bit 4.2.0, slow motion baked in like the A7iv?. I know it can do the time-lapse in S&Q...
I don't think I can go without the mode dail and customizable buttons on the A7iv. The new stabe does look amazing though on little baby SiiiE1. 😊
Camera UA-cam is crazy man. People get so worked up about the cameras and gear and probably don’t really even create much with them.
I don't feel bad because there are new cameras, I feel bad because there are no firmware update for older more expensive capable cameras

I bought an a7siii when it was first released and am finally realizing that the firmware updates many of us have been waiting for just aren't going to happen. Basically, the A7siii has been left in the dust. Sony continues to release a new camera every 3-4 months now and seems to think the solution to the lack of firmware upgrades is that we'll shell out more money for new hardware with slightly different features instead. Like a few other photographers I know who purchased the A7siii, I definitely won't buy another camera from this company again. This is just greed, plain and simple, and a total disregard for their customers who shelled out $3500.00 to help keep them in business.
The future. Not one youtuber has said they would like a servo zoom unbelievable. No the zoom on the fx3 is crap it's not a true servo smooth zoom.
I think the camera is fantastic. Just ... WHY WHY WHY can't we get the same features in the higher end cameras???? Fx3, A7SIII, FX6, FX30 ... why can't they release firmware updates when they release a camera with new features that are just software. FX3 has better processor and same sensor .. so ... WHY??
I think the next step would be adding false color, pre-recording, and 6K recording, like the Canon R6 ii, but other than that I don't see why Sony would invest into another A7S camera if all the benefits of a cinema camera would just make sense to go into a cinema camera like you said.
12, 14 or 16 bit, fullframe 6k or 8k, 14 or 16 stops of dynamic range, all the new features of other models, which only exist because of programming, not the actual hardware, better ibis, etc

I am a only 1 camera and prefer get more and better lenses that another body, that’s why the A7S3 it’s perfect form me
I think that the A7S III can't get quite to the level of A7R V in all aspects because it doesn't have the AI processor that the A7R V has. However, I am convinced it could get to the level of the A7 IV in terms of eye AF for animals and birds (if it didn't get it through updates which I don't know because I don't have it - I only have two A7 IVs) or focus breathing compensation and focus map... If Sony didn't add these functions to a video first camera, I think this isn't good.
We need the FX1 as an entry lvl full frame cinema camera
spec wise this camera is good but looks so uninspiring to shoot with , Sony should have a better design for their cameras .A7 series look pretty good , I'm talking about their APSC Bodies and new ZVE-1😯

One issue I have heard about is overheating- it has no fan - and in a production environment that could be a deal-killer...

You just said it yourself… Why would a possible A7SIV have things like Custom LUTS or an internal ND. It’s a Cinema line feature. But then why… and this is what you said in another video… does the ZV-E1 have CustomLUT possibilities implemented??? It’s a cinema line feature. And I agree on that with you.
But I don’t like the way, Sony packs such great features like LUTS or Dynamic Active IBIS into a camera that is still nearly half the price of a 3 year old A7SIII?
I just bought my own A7SIII at the beginning of 2023 and it still is over 4.000€ . I guess you see why I’m a little confused by the fact, that you can get better Handling features with the ZV-E1. Because that’s what it is at the end of the day… helpful features for shooting like better Stabilization, you can finally solve the SLog exposure issues with custom LUTS… so why not build this into a 4000€ camera that you take with you on client shoots, that might have to pay your bills, without being forced to switch into the cinema line that is even more expensive?
Well, if we know anything about Sony, they do not do what makes sense. So who knows what they will do.
What about camcorders? Did Sony give up on those?

I don’t think it’s strange that people have a reaction when they release a camera in their “vlogger line” that basically does the same as the flagship video camera, and at a price that is 1500$ less. Previously the progression of cameras have been pretty linear, new camera = more expensive = more features. But now things are starting to get messy as we kinda reached the peak of features I guess 😂

Besides firmware updates, I find the semi-constant flow of new models equally frustrating. I really expect firmware updates most when there are issues with the camera. I don't necessarily expect firmware updates to add features that new cameras have. Why would Sony bother to develop new cameras if every time they do, people expect new features in a brand new model to be added to older models. Unless the new cameras with new features are definitely software based, you can't expect camera manufacturers to keep adding these same features to previous models.
Plus, like any camera manufacturer, they are responding to customer requests for new features to justify the new models. Do you see car manufacturers adding features in their newer models to older car models? Of course not. Why would it be any different for cameras?
There's a running joke in California that drivers forget how to drive in the rain. Every time a new storm arrives, there seem to be more accidents. The idea being that people forgot how to drive in the rain since the previous storm. As a comparison, it seems people who buy cameras seem to forget that camera manufacturing is a business. Which means new models are released with new features every year. And along with those new features, prices change based on previous sales and the desire for companies - like Sony - to increase their sales every year.
That being said, it would be nice if Sony dropped the price of the A7Siii as newer models are released. If for no other reason than to sell more copies. And it would bring more respect for Sony in the process. I think price drops is the best policy when new cameras are released. It generates more income for Sony, Canon, etc. which in turn can be used to continue the development of new cameras. So, there is that.
I just got the fx- 30 . And the zv -e1 looks kind of interesting. My thing is about why everyone saying is the best vloging camera with all those features I think we’re able to do weddings. Or I’m wrong? You tell me Peter
that's what i have been thinking! Nobody talks about using it for work. I own a Sony A7iii and i'm buying the ZV-E1 to replace that, because i'm doing alot more videos than photos. Also only have clients who only use my service for social media. Not BIG billboards or something like that.

Does Sony even listen to the feedback of its top customers/promoters on UA-cam? People have been asking for a firmware update for a year now and they have done nothing. Don't think one will ever come if we haven't got it yet.

I have been using a6600 and a7iv recently, both are high megapixels cameras, I am thinking to get the ZVE1 now for vloging only bcoz of its compact size and being Sony, the only thing that pisses me off is the 12 MP, thought I don’t want to take photos with it but still if I have to zoom in the frame in the post-production etc. could you anyone share their experience with using the 12 MP camera ? Should I worry about it or no I won’t feel it at all and the video quality would be really sharp? Thanks

I want you to know that I hear you. I can't and don't speak for the product engineers that work to develop the firmware updates that you are asking about, but sometimes (like with all consumer electronics), hardware requirements to support certain features. Traditionally, we always try to keep our products up to date for our customers and that is the core of building a long term relationship with our customers. As I said, I am not sure what the product engineers may or may not be working on, but with the most recent update to the cameras you mentioned occurring 09/22, I am sure there is process the happens that prevents an overnight firmware update development (assuming that is being worked on). What I would like to know is what are some of the features that you would like to see come to A7S III, A1 etc. Thanks for taking time to reach out. Larry
Only thing that annoy me is, as you said… Sony, for crying out loud. Release useful firmware updates…. Even paid ones! (Can’t understand I said that…) but it’s truly completely stupidity to “garbage” extraordinarily things just because someone just did not get to push the Release Firmware button…
Seems camera companies are updating less these days. (Sony the worst) Panasonic might be the last adding features as Fuji has gone a way from it too. I’d be okay with paid updates if they were substantial.

Camera is not everything. I love my A7S III and I don't need newer camera for my hobby at the moments. 4K 120p is still something that outperform other new Sony cameras and I love to take photos also and 12mp is enough for me and my stuff. I also have A7S mark 1 and mark 2 so I hope your wrong about the S line.
