Small clarification for the spell hit, in case new folks get confused. The 289/262 he lists represents the amount of hit you need from gear, which is 11% for horde, 10% for Alliance. You'll get 3% from the Shadow Focus talent, and 3% from the Misery debuff you will be putting up (1% from having a dranai in your alliance raid). Just know, on your stat sheet, you'll only see 11%/10% spell hit, but that's okay because of talents :)
Yeah good point, it's a party wide aura. And it has a range so you need to be within 30 yards of your group's draenei to benefit. But if you consistently have a draenei in your party then 262 is the way to go. Raid makers should try to optimize having a draenei in each group (if there's enough of course)
I was wondering if you could be so kind and show in a video your addons settings. Since I can't seem to figure out how to make dots visible above mobs like you I've seen you have. And got the addons that you've said you use. Thanks in advance and love your videos, super kind of you to share your knowledge! ///Kind regards
This video goes through my main addons (and plater, which it seems like you need help with) so let me know if this is what you're looking for ua-cam.com/video/dT-u2PF2_MI/v-deo.html
I do like your videos - i'm a long time shadow priest player that was AFK for two expansions and now came back to wrath - is there anyway a quartz profile ? thx and keep it going with the videos
Sorry quartz doesn’t export profiles, you can only save them between characters on an account. Honestly all I changed are the bar width and height, and I made the background a purple color
Respecing one's talents for specific fights? Not going to happen for most players, that runs into serious gold and a group willing to wait for you to go out, pay for a respec and come back in between fights, and that generally doesn't happen. Most folks if the 2-spec they do a healing spec for their off spec in case of loss of healer for some reason, and thats generally done at the entering the raid/dungeon not during.
There’s not a ton of variation in the specs. Just use the basic popular one. It’s a min/max thing and it’s VERY minimal to switch per fight. You won’t notice a difference if you aren’t number crunching anyways. Also not buying the “it’s too expensive” excuse. You can make like 300ish gold in less than an hour just doing the daily dungeon and like a few other dailies. Gold is easy to make.
Then don't do that? He's talking strictly to Shadow Priest and mentioning that those spec changes can help. Not that they are necessary. If you're in a guild where a healer can just drop randomly and they don't have any backups, then just stay shadow/healer spec and stfu.
Some have the option. I do, for example. I'm not healing on my priest at all, so I have a second spec with the Vesax talent choices (like reduced threat), and it's not strictly needed, sure, but it is nice to have on that fight.
Thanks pants for this amazing guide! Couple of questions please If I have both scale and eng gloves, when is best to pop them? After 5 stacks of Shadow weaving buff? Lastly, I think you mentioned that you will talk about the saronite belt but I don't think you brought it up hehe. Thanks
On pull is generally best, shadow weaving stacks don’t matter for using those. If you check out the shadow priest sim you can see when the sim uses gloves/scale and that will be the best timing for you. And it was the saronite bombs I forgot to mention. Those are in my DP macro. It’s on the screen I just forgot to call it out. Thanks for mentioning that!
I have not found a solid answer on whether or not Black Magic enchant on weapon is worth it. It has a great proc chance so I feel like it might be comparable.
Black magic sims well but is bad in practice due to the randomness of procs. Can think about it the same way as dying curse or any trinket where the effect may happen at a bad time and you can’t get value out of it. I personally hate procs and prefer the permanent spell power from +63 spellpower enchant, so I’ll never use it. But it sims well so you can use it if you want
@@Pants_Gaming makes sense. I'm much more of a "risk the biscuit" type player lol. I like to roll the dice and hopefully it works out and sucks if it doesn't. Luckily I also raid with folks who aren't strict on how people "should" play.
Hey Pants, i get a LUA error on the Vampiric Touch Recast Timer in your Foji WA. VT is also the only dot that shows no duration in the interface. Is this a known problem? I just imported your WA.

There are weakauras that allow you to upload a sound file. And you can download those sound files from wowhead. Check out passions priest WA suite and check out the mind flay tick WA Or you can do what Andreas suggested as I did that for a while before switching to the weakaura
@@hedehodohede i swapped to the weakaura now that pants mentioned it. 🤣 Uninstalled gnosis and quartz right away lol. Didnt know the aura could do it too.. bit ofc it could, im sure weakauras could create its own game inside of wow 🤣
Too hard to tell as it really depends on how blizz decides to balance it. In original Cata, Shadow didnt start off strong but finished the expansion as a top tier dps. Blizz also sent out a survey asking about changes to talents trees, which was about removing the fact that you had to reach the bottom talent in a tree before you could go into another one. If they changed this shadow priests could replace dispersion with Power Infusion which would be a big gain for dps. TLDR: No f'ing clue, but I'm optimistic
I don't think glyph of shadowfiend is mandatory. Also cause of Anub fight Mind sear is glyph to take right now =) You still need to swap for glyph of dispersion, if tanking Algalon BB.
Believe me, if your shadowfiend ever gets clapped in an unlucky scenario right after summoning it, you will think that glyph is mandatory. Then it's better to have 5% extra mana than none.
Yeah shadowfiend is the only minor glyph that provides a combat benefit as everything else doesn't really matter. Would you really take 10 extra minutes on Shadow Protection instead of this? Because I don't see another minor glyph worth using And I didnt get into major glyph specifics because that's outside the scope of this video
no no no, the crit bonus doesn't get applied to dots. For max DPS always Mind Flay or Mind Sear in aoe situations. Worst case scenario can use on DP if you're running out of mana on longer fights
Hey pants thanks for the vid! Some really helpful information here especially the macros. I had one question though: if 2 piece 2 piece is realistic bis with at least 245 ilvl tier, why does it sim lower than my 4pc t8? Even when I sim 258 2pc it still shows as much lower than with 4pc t8. Is it a lack of haste on my gear? Currently at 523
No such thing as a lack of haste. Probably has to do with the slots you’re choosing, losing too much hit, using healer tier, or your sim settings. You should join the shadow priest discord and post in there as there’s too many things it could be for me to diagnose here discord.gg/classicshadow Or watch my realistic bis video and see if that helps you
@@Shadowfex That assumes you have some level of control. In a Guild that may not be true, and same with a random pick up group. One person does not assume what a party will consist of, who will tank or who will act as raid leader. You either don't actually play Wrath Classic, or just like hearing yourself talk. Heroics in Wrath Classic are literally minimally different than Normals.
