- It was once said that in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. Morakniv Lok has been developed to withstand demanding challenges in the wilderness. It provides exemplary features for those in need of a safe and robust tool.
The full-bodied wooden handle made of unique ash wood has a finger guard, a functional grip heel, and a 3.2 mm thick, black knife blade made of recycled Swedish stainless steel. Together with the specially designed blade curvature, it provides both strength and stability in every cut. The spine of the blade is also compatible with a fire starter, which means that you always have the heat from the campfire close at hand.
The knife's black vegetable tanned leather sheath can be attached to a dangler, which allows you to extend the distance between the knife sheath and the belt. Make yourself at home in the wilderness.

The price of the knife is totally out of Swedish Lagom concept. Something went wrong at Mora...
It's a bit expensive I can agree, but it's made in Sweden. Not cheaply in Eastern Europe or China....
It is very expensive for what it is. It does make the Garberg look like a very affordable choice rather than its previous perception as overpriced. This is not an L.T. Wright or a Bark River knife. Given how modern steel production works, probably all of their knives are made from recycled steel.
totally agree. 239 euros. that's ridiculous. That's 3 times the price of a joker knife from Spain and you also get very good quality there. these new moras are certainly good knives and they will find their buyers. but i'm out.
Totally agree with you, that's price for a custom knive, or hight end production from premium powder steel.
For what you get, the garberg has a good and fair price imo.
@@pullo5518 Yea, I've checked and you can get companion heavy duty for 20€, it's best deal for money. Mora has been known for great value and low prices, they're ruining it with higher prices on their full tang knives.
@@l0ht The price for the garberg is fair imo, the price for these new knives is to high I agree, you can always choose a companion heavy-duty or a pro robust, some of the best knives for the money.
It looks very nice. But for the same price, you can get a Brisa Trapper in Elmax, instead of a “generic” recycled stainless steel.

@@MoraknivOfficial I hope you do listen, I think even you yourselves must question is it worth it, surely you can't put it at a higher price than the garberg, which at first was sold a bit too expensive in my opinion, I did wait for the price to come down a bit before purchasing it, I can say I was happy paying £67 for it, worth every penny, an excellent knife. Just please re-think this silly price for basically a wooden handle, it really doesn't make you look good.
Yes, it's nice but overpriced.
Price (239€) is obscenely expensive considering blade materials and intended use. There is nothing special about recycled stainless steel or single bevel blades. I will not replace my Mora Garberg for this.
Agree.
However they just made their line, they set the price. If the demand is not enough, the price will come down as it happens with many Nike products that starts at 300€ and end up being sold at 100/125€.
Haha but still you bought the Garberg. People were just as upset when the Garberg was launched costing many times more than a Companion.
Yet I think this ash series is actually better value than the Garberg is. The Garberg is made entirely by robots just like the Companion.
These new knives are assembled and probably checked individually by people. They have premium sheaths with European leather.

@@MoraknivOfficial I REALLY appreciate you for hearing my voice, and acknowledging my thoughts. I understand what y’all were trying to do with this line of knives, especially in regards to the ecological sustainability of the manufacturing processes, the materials, etc.. I understand that the handle scales are made of ash wood, which is EXCELLENT material for knife handles/handle scales. However, the ash tree is currently dying back really bad in many parts of the world. Is that part of why the price is so high? Does that extra money go towards some kind of tree planting/conservation effort?

Wait.... April first is 01.04. Idk Mora. You always came across as a humble and down to earth company to me. Are you in financial troubles lately? tbh i can't see people buying this for that price. Not saying this isn't a good knife but folks cmon there are plenty of better options for way less. And yes even produced in europe. Also please just tell the folks what steel it is. It's fine and good that its recycled but don't think it'll sell better just because of that. Probably the opposite because people are afraid it might be not good. Stay Transparent and fair please. PS: i love all my Moras.
Hello there! We always have the intention of staying humble, and we are still the same Morakniv as always. We can say that one of the factors for these higher prices are the cost of operation, as these knives require a bit more time from each person in our production. The people in our company all have a safe working environment, proper salaries, collective agreements, the list goes on. When a knife takes longer time to produce, all these things will affect the price. A Morakniv knife is always made in Mora, Sweden, and that will never change.

Dommage...
I mean, this seems to be a premium model for a premium price.
We all know Mora is king in price to value knives and probably want to hit other market segments now.
However I believe most people won't be able to justify the price - value ratio here, if one needs an indestructible tool he can go for terävä jääkäripuukko for example, yeah the design is a bit boring but the knife is really heavy duty and for much better price. You get 4,2 mm thick blade with full tang and it's fire steel friendly too. And you can buy 3 of them for the price! I own Garberg and I was already scratching my head there because of the price. The design of this new mora is pretty cool though, I think the design will get hearts of many, if Mora could make a budget version of it for say 50-80 euro it would sell like hot bread in my opinion!
You are welcome to buy, or not buy, anything you want from us. Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. 🤝

At the time, Mora told us that the Garberg was made of the better 14c28n steel. Now Mora's comments suddenly only talk about a single recycled stainless steel that has always been used for all knives. Where is the truth here?
The recycled Swedish stainless steel is the same steel that we have been using for decades. We are just communicating how it's made from our supplier. The percentage of the amount of recycled stainless steel from our supplier is increasing each year, which means that we are getting closer to a more sustainable product lifecycle. Can you please specify exactly what steel you use on all the knives? Recycled Steel can mean anything and can imply a wide spread of quality too, it would legally mean you can/will not guarantee same steel quality is used throught out the knive production batches (especially considering that it is recycled steels)? So which steel type is used on the Ash series? Is it exactly the 14C28N like on the Garberg or a lesser steel with a potential spread and variance in quality?
Nice practical knife as with all of the Mora knives.

Beautiful knife and feels great in my hand, but the price is OBSCENE. For plain ash wood, “recycled stainless” (what kind and what hardness? Is it 14c28N or 13c37? 12c27? Or simply 420?) I would prefer carbon steel personally but would be ok with 12c27, 13c26 or 14c28N) it’s just a lot of money for fairly cheap simple materials. If it was carbon steel at $150 I wouldn’t have that much problem with it, still expensive but not crazy expensive. I mean Garberg in carbon is $75-85. Retail where I work (SMKW) Even Moras with the red handles are crazy expensive $36-44) that’s plain carbon steel, not the laminated. I bought a 3 3/4” laminated Mora for $9.99 in 2001 at SMKW, I also bought the plain birch grip and leather sheath Mora for $19.99 but returned it because I thought that was too expensive. I understand times change and prices go up, but I believe the Lok is $249.99 in our store. Possibly more. This is what I can get a custom knife for, and a decent bushcraft knife at that. I love you Morakniv-been using Mora since 1989 (KJ Eriksson Scout knife in Laminated-$7.97 btw) I just bought 2 laminated Frost’s Mora knives for $40 + shipping. That’s fair, they’re used, excellent condition. I have over a dozen Mora knives, and I recommend them daily. Best deal and quality that beats many $100+ knives. However the price keeps going up and that will eventually make it not worth buying, because you can buy an ESEE for $120 and a lifetime warranty. An LT Wright with Scandi edge is less than the Lok! The Next Generation is $231. Hopefully things will change or at least they’ll keep their lower priced line at LOW prices. I can get a Morakniv 510 for $17.99. FANTASTIC deal. All the bushcraft knife you will need. Keep the Mora a good deal and people will keep buying them, but once the deal is lost, you’ll have problems I expect. I don’t want to see Morakniv go away. Sweden makes some fine steel and blades.
Stunning knife, not for my budget, but very beautiful.

I love Morakniv but this is not good way to go. Overpriced. Recycled stainless steel? Really? For bushcrafters? Which one? Budget 12C27? And later they will offer carbon, I suppose? They made wooden scales? They finally did it? Wow! 😂 There's a so many better options in the market today. Small knifemakers, even big companies. Companies like Brisa (I have Brisa Kephart 115 in great 80crv2 steel. Made in Finland. One of many) Knives like Terava Jaakaripuukko - Made in Finland. Or LT Wright company knives made in USA, etc, etc... Better steels, more options, for the same money. If is price sett between 60-80 euros, ok, maybe. Money doesn't grow on trees for anyone. But selling crap for big money is wrong path to go.

Dear friends and family,
Today, we gather to honor the memory of Morakniv, who has passed away from the terrible and sneaky disease called marketing greed. We come together to celebrate his life and the impact he had on all of us.
Morakniv was a manufacturer who during all his life made it his mission to bring quality but affordable knives to the masses. He was always eager to help others and had a kind heart that touched the lives of many. He was so strong that even the far eastern land that makes everything and cheats on everything, could not beat him. It's a shame that his demise came from the inside, from this organ called marketing department.
Although we are saddened by Morakniv's passing, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the memories that we hold dear, and the impact that he had on our lives will never be forgotten.
Morakniv, you were a gift to us all, and we are grateful for the time we had with you. Your spirit will continue to live on in our hearts, and we will always remember the joy and love that you brought into our lives.
Rest in peace, Morakniv. You will be sharply missed.

And if it is Argentinian you'd better hope it's better than their military. Even the 'famously' America Bowie came from Sheffield England.
Very expensive. No thanks
It would be a perfect knife, but what the hell has tempted you to make this top swage?! It’s helpful only when stabbing other people, for bushcraft it’s useless. Moreover it hurts a thumb when you try to apply more force during precise carving and destroys a baton faster, when splitting logs.
Yeah I would also like an explanation for that. Why is it there? For what reason?
Dream knife 😍
Totally agree! Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
. ...
A full tang Mora, specifically designed for bushcrafting and ferrocenium rods?
You have yourself a huge hit here.
We are go for launch! Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
@@MoraknivOfficial You honour me. I wish you guys the very best of luck with the launch.
@@MoraknivOfficial😮😊
The most beautiful classic and at the same time modern bust. Price unfortunately. This time I won't buy it.
Is this a joke, Mora?
Awesome. Another Morakniv to add to my collection. Can’t wait to give it a thorough testing.
You're welcome! Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
Very interesting... Hi! From Spain
Gooddd... ✌️
Gracias! Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
239 Fucking Euros??? I am not using this knife for batoning wood. For this kind of money you can buy: Mora Companion Stainless Steel + Mora companion HD stainless Steel + 10 B
IC lighters and still have money leftover.
I am a proud owner and user of many Mora blades, i absolutely live using them daily. This knife is waaay overpriced fir what it is, i can get a Falkniven or a Bark River and have a much higher quality steel and tooo overall. This is one Mora i will NOT purchase and i really hope the oeople responsibly for the outrageous price will come to thier senses and attempt to be reasonable!!
Hey! Have you had the chance to try it yet? Greetings from the knife factory in Mora, Sweden. ✨
@@MoraknivOfficial the only way I will try that knife is if Moralniv sends one to me for free to test OR drastically lowers the price. That knife is not worth anything close to the asking price, honestly I'd have a hard time justifying the purchase of that knife if it cost €100... I'd rather buy a Garburg, Companion HD or Bushcraft Survival knife with included hone and fire steel, and know I'm getting good value and a dependable tool .
Without blackened blade and good looking sheath this knife looks like cheap chineese utility knife from street marketplace in poor southamerican country. The price is from cosmos - for 230 EUR I can buy premium powder steel knife. No info about the steel. Every stainless steel can be made of recycled steel (except powder ones). If the steel is made from recycled parts why the price is so high??? This knife should cost less than Garberg with leather sheath. If someone want to scandi full tang knife with wooden handle should go for Helle - overpriced but beautiful and customer gets information about the steel
The recycled Swedish stainless steel is the same steel that we have been using for decades. We are just communicating how it's made from our supplier. The percentage of the amount of recycled stainless steel from our supplier is increasing each year, which means that we are getting closer to a more sustainable product lifecycle. Nowadays, most of the world's stainless steel products are recycled due to the high quality of the steel. The recycled Swedish stainless steel in our knives has over 80% recycled steel, which we want to highlight.
@@MoraknivOfficial So it's still Sandvik 12c27 - cheap steel. Ashwood is also cheap wood, blade is machine cut, the same is handle so why the price is so high? Because sobebody in Morakniv sits with glue and screwdriver and connect scales to the knife???This knife is worth 80 EUR maximum an not because Morakniv is the manufacturer. If Fallkniven would sell this knife in this robbery price the customers would hate them too.
What, only 2,5mm thick, why not 5mm? It's absolut useless for outdoor 😂
This was a joke sorry!
It's 3.2 mm thick.
I must have this knife 🙂👍👍👍
Yes!
