I show you how to repair an icemaker for my Whirlpool Freezer under my refrigerator. The motor stopped working and this is a common problem with Whirlpool Icemakers. I show you how to remove the old icemaker that has stopped working and replace it with a new working ice maker.
Its easiest to do this maintenance fix after removing the shelves in the freezer. I removed the top rack and bottom baskets to create more room in the freezer for me to work in replacing the icemaker which I created another video about. That video is linked further down in this description.
This will work for many different freezers, but my freezer is a Whirlpool WRF535SWHV02

Wow, this looks easier than I expected. The issue I'm having is that the ice maker was leaking into the ice bucket, then stopped, and now nothing whatsoever. Any ideas?

Great video. Thanks! I easily replaced my ice maker but it’s making ice very slowly. Do you know if there are any adjustments you make to increase the speed? Just seems very slow
My ice maker has good water flow and I’m able to get the motor running, but it doesn’t want to go through a full cycle and actually make ice.like control arm was in on position but haven’t heard the water kick on to fill it to make cubes. Any ideas? Thank you
Hi. Our new Maytag comes with identical ice maker. I don't plan on connecting a water supply to the fridge so I'm wondering if I can move the wire are to the off position and remove it from the ice maker as well as disconnecting the wire harness. Thanks in advance.

I’m referring to your video to see if I did anything wrong or different.
I took my old (broken) ice maker out because it was overflowing with water and flooding my bridge and kitchen. I did not turn off my freezer.
Upon installing I also did not turn off my freezer but it is still not making any ice. I have turned my fridge off and also tried rebooting the ice maker with the panel in the fridge doorway.
The above water dispenser is working so I wouldn’t think it would be the ‘Water inlet valves’ but maybe it is?? Any suggestions??
Hi Paul, in your comment you mentioned that your old ice maker was overflowing. That may also signal other problems besides just the ice maker. When you say the install is not making any ice, you need to check if the ice maker motor is still turning the spikes to push out ice cubes but just not accepting water or if it's not turning at all. (My ice maker spikes turn very slowly - It takes several hours to make a set of ice.)

Thanks for the reply. After a few diagnostics I think my problem is actually the 4 water inlet valves/coils in the rear. I plugged both new and old and both seem to spin fine but I couldn’t get water. Luckily the part is available locally, gonna buy the part tmr and give it a try!
