I ordered mine yesterday! I can finally get rid of the deck link quad. Horrible as far as live calls on a live steam does not have 2 applications so it won’t work period. I was ready to order a large mother board with 5 PCIe slots. Haha you saved me a few thousand!!! I have your 4K pro and works only with my one camera if I had to make a live call on streaming. No more. Thank you elgato!!!! I

Might be a bit of a stretch, but I’ve got a stream coming up later this year where I need 4 (actually 8, but I’ll be doing two different capture methods anyways), so this announcement came at an exciting time. That being said, I was previously leaning towards the recently announced Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO because it can record the four separate inputs for editing later. Can I do that with this card, or is it simply 4 inputs?
Can I connect my game to that also and use it as a capture card also??
Just take my money, take it!!! I've been using 3 hd60 pros and a 4k60pro in on machine, this will free up at least 3 pci e ports in my workstation

the more bandwidth would perhaps have allowed 2160p60 in 4:4:4 on the 4 HDMI ports

Can you do 8 camera input and 12 camera Imports if we you three or two of your capture cards in the computer what about for mobile years if we're out on the field we don't want to carry a big heavy computer what can we use to make it easier for I work for flow
I just picked one up from elgato... which will be the best setup? Ryzen 3700x or 10700? Also, I want to use it to stream my son playing drums on youtube exactly like the demo video on the elgato site. Can anyone point me to a graphics overlay resource and/or tutorial for the cool graphics that were used in the video? Thanks in advance.

I only have two x16 slots on my motherboard, one for my graphics card, and the second for my thunderbolt 3 card.

I am using OBS for live stream streaming, can Cam Link 4K allow my camera's in-built mic to act as the microphone? I do not want to use external mics but use the in-build mic of my camera. My cameras are Sony A6100 and Sony DSC HX60V

Very interested in the next generation of this product where it includes a separate audio input. That's the missing feature keeping me from buying this. I have a CamLink USB version and yes, OBS has a plug-in called VirtualCam which works with Zoom, Teams, Skype or anything. So you can have multiple views, camera, scenes all going to one OBS output and Zoom, etc. just thinks it's a webcam. Sorry, it's a pass for now, but I was keenly interested in the whole video, but with no separate audio input it's not worth it yet.
Can I ask you what the use of this would be? And why you would not be able to use the line-in/mic-in port of your computer to accomplish the same thing?

Towards the end of this year i plan to start a Quad stream from my home (x4 Gaming PCs and one streaming PC) - this will require the use of one quad capture card to capture game play, but i would also love to replace the USB webcams (brio type) with Sony A5100s which would require the use of a second quad capture card - then... if possible... a third capture card for a 5th Sony A5100 with a wide angle lens 10/14mm type to capture the whole setup in decent quality, i will also be using a camera in a birds eye view perspective but this can be achieved with a USB type camera.
Yes, 2 Cam Link Pros should be fine so long as you have the available lanes in your PC. Our driver allows for 4 max, but one of our partners has been experimenting with a special driver to get 5 into his setup and that's been successful so far (his name is MrGregles)

This card doesn’t have HDMI out, so you’d have severe input lag compared to a capture card that acts as a passthrough

@@_J2C if you’ve got HDMI splitters then I don’t see why it’d be a problem!
Yes - please note Cam Link Pro does not feature HDMI passthrough so you'd play in software preview or need a HDMI splitter.

Our cameras images randomly freeze with the external usb capture devices (in OBS). I’m wondering if this would solve the issue.
This is exactly why I bought it. It arrives tomorrow. My cam link 4k would freeze every 5 min or so while i was live. Hopefully no more camera freezing 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hey! i am having some trouble with mine, I am attempting to get 1440p60 mirrored from my gaming PC, in order to use it as a display capture, but I cant seem to get it above 1440p30. Any Ideas?

Yes and no, all 4 ports are in ports and none are out so you have to play through the computer screen.
You would need and HDMI matrix or powered splitter to avoid input lag and general latency as much as possible.

Elgato got all this cool as hell and expensive equipment… still lets their employees make videos showing off their new devices while using a mic across the room while everything echos. Audio sounds awful. Get these guys a dang clip on mic so they don’t have to shout across the room. Doesn’t even have to be studio or production grade. Doesn’t cost that much. They talk about products being for pros, then do something amateur like this. C’mon guys. >.
Wish I had done a deep dive in researching that these cards not only elgato do not work with Riot games they consider them cheating devices they block the signal its so annoying Microsoft should block riot in turn for running rootkits on our systems LOL only way I got around this was to sub stream rstp/NDI feed from another pc for valorant
