Hello. Just now catching your video a year late 😊 and you may have already discovered that you CAN mix Cobra WM oil with traditional oil…but to retain water mixable quality the ratio must be 2:1 (2 parts Cobra to 1 part traditional oil). Great for artists with a previous investment of oils but considering switching to WM 😊
Hello .My name is John Higgins and I have been painting with W&N Artisan paint for the past 5/6 years and have been very pleased with the results and the ease of use. Recently I have purchased some other manufactures water mixable for the different colors available eg Cobra Greysh Blue and Naples Yellow Light and Danial Smiths Qinacridone Gold . I then proceed to buy a full range of Cobra water mixable oils but I am very disappointed with them. My biggest gripe is the difficulty in mixing them and the very quick drying time. Mabie I am doing something wrong but I have very satisfactory results with the W&N paint. Should I be using more water/painting medium ? I will be returning to my Artisan paint unless I get some help with my problem.
If you like water mixable oil paint, try other brands as well. I have Cobra, Daniel Smith, Schmincke Norma Blue, Holbein Duo. Of these brands, I think I like Schmincke and Daniel Smith the most.
@@miaelleart761 The WN water mixable oil paint is student grade. I see that you have a tube of Schmincke Norma Professional. If you like Normal Professional, you will definitely like Norma Blue, which is identical to Norma Professional but water mixable. For a long time, Holbein Duo was considered the best professional water mixable oil paint. It is still amazing, but there are so many options today, and choosing one is a matter of preference.
