I have been using water-soluble oils since college ( we had to use them there ), but was using them in a more traditional way. I think I need to re-think how I apply them. And I need to go and get a small, brass squeegee .

You may use water-mixable linseed oil with water-mixable oils, and use water or OMS as your "thinner." You may use conventional linseed oil with water mixable oils, but then you must used OMS as your "thinner."
Charlie is very genuine. No pretenses. And a wonderful expressionist painter.

My daughter found a set of W & N water mixable oils. Several of the tubes are stiff-can you still use?

Can you use gamasol, or turp, or OMS for medium?
The point is you don’t have to, because water does it.
That said, Rembrandt’s COBRA & Schmincke have mediums that will work miracles & awesomeness...
