Charlie is very genuine. No pretenses. And a wonderful expressionist painter.

just a few strokes and a beutiful landscape appears.. watching a master impressionist at works is like watching a magic show..

One of the best out there right now.
He made a reference to Andrew Wyeth - who I think is possibly the best American painter ever, and you can see a bit of his influence in Charlie's paintings.
I have been using water-soluble oils since college ( we had to use them there ), but was using them in a more traditional way. I think I need to re-think how I apply them.
And I need to go and get a small, brass squeegee .

Highly enjoyable tutorial. I have some Cobra water-soluble oils but now want to try in this wet style on the canvas he suggested. Wish I knew what kind of squeegee he is using.

Never painted sucking a toothpic - I must try it sometime! Full marks for originality and creativity. Thanks Charlie.

My daughter found a set of W & N water mixable oils. Several of the tubes are stiff-can you still use?

Can you use gamasol, or turp, or OMS for medium?

    • @gypsysnickerdoodle4354

The point is you don’t have to, because water does it.
That said, Rembrandt’s COBRA & Schmincke have mediums that will work miracles & awesomeness...

Does Linseed Oil work with WS oils ?

May I use linseed oil with water mixable oils? Thank you !,,

You may use water-mixable linseed oil with water-mixable oils, and use water or OMS as your "thinner." You may use conventional linseed oil with water mixable oils, but then you must used OMS as your "thinner."
