You’re telling me. Born and raised
in New York City, The bricks 🧱 (KNICKS)were ABYSMAL… so at seven years old, I adopted my team, and that had to have been an obvious team, MY BOSTON CELTICS. And that happened in 1979, we all know what happened in that year, that’s all she wrote in my book. LARRY “LEGEND” BIRD, was and still is my basketball idol, and he actually Has had more of a impact in just 🏀 BASKETBALL , knowing his story with his father committing suicide, I Found myself in that same position, and I know that’s not the way to go out in life. Period!!! So Insane that I have so much gratitude for his whole entire story, his work ethic, instead Acacian, his tenacity both on and off the court being The best that he can be, the only thing that I wish for, I would be instead of what he has been for the Indiana Pacers as far as in the front office, I wish you would’ve done that with the Boston Celtics organization. Period, there needs to be a Larry Bird statue outside of the TD Garden, since that wasn’t done at the old Boston Gardens, and I know and I can guarantee that there are thousands if not millions of people that would agree with me. Since I will be living in New York City that’s going to give me easier access to go to Boston and watch my first Celtic game at the TD GARDEN. ALL HAIL TO THE BOSTON CELTICS. # bleedgreen

This video was filthy. What Magic said, that interview, people just don’t understand how good Larry Bird was, have to watch games. I love Steph n he is becoming more clutch as he gets older. Larry Bird came in the league with it. Nobody had more effect on the court, and his teammates, than Larry. Not even Mj. I graduated in 96, I love His Airness. But Larry Bird is my favorite ever. He beat everybody, at every level, no matter if the other team had better players, Larry Bird got his. Thank you again for this video! Great job telling the Truth! 👍👏

Got into a argument once cause I said, Bird came into a league when 3 point shots was just starting up, so it wasn't like Bird was working on long range shots everyday, cause the fact is it wasn't needed in his high-school years or his college years. So what he did as a 3 point shooter was even that much better. He said man you a dumbass, Bird had the 3 point line , I said yes, in the NBA but not something he worked when he was younger cause as that time there wasn't one. Anyhow I say this because today's guys work on 3 pointers before they even have the strength to get it to the goal. Makes for bad form but still they was working on it, like a Curry

And hell even into my teens I felt the same and unfortunately it wasn't until the Dream Team and how all the other countries responded to and respected Bird and the others along with the documentary footage that I found my respect for the man. However he was prepared along with Magic to pass the torch to Jordan and i didn't get to appreciate him as a great player......hell as the greatest SF to ever play and yes I know the "king" plays SF. The thing about Bird that was probably the most frustrating against opposing players was that he was so un-athletic but he was so good and a lot of his shots looked awkward and clumsy and yet they still went in.

As a matter of fact, among the list voted of the top 50 NBA players of all time, Bird went against no less than 18 of them. They may have hated hearing that trash talking when they had to face him on the court, but these days many of them are in videos like this giving testimonials and paying homage to just how special Bird's game was.
