      Those frogs are so creepy they look like the Budweiser frogs if they came across the ooze from teenage mutant Ninja turtles. And that Sandahl Bergman's character trying to dance all sexy to get Roddy Piper to mate with the fertile women is pointless since the stipulation in her contract that deters her from getting naked not even taking off her top. And Roddy Piper gets released that he has to wear some kind of Chastity jockstrap that can explode if he Dodges the mission it's just emasculating, and he has to ride around with women in a pink PT cruiser. You probably wish he was back in the joint.

    • @RubensBudgetCreations
      @RubensBudgetCreations 6 місяців тому

      What really kills me is that I'm watching this 2 years after it was launched, AGAIN. I've seen all these reviews about 4 times now and they are still great.

    • @ZombieWilfred
      @ZombieWilfred 3 місяці тому

      What's funny to me is it really doesn't matter that it's attached like a chastity belt, because one ounce of C4 attached to any part of a person from thighs, to torso, or biceps, is basically guaranteed to kill them, most likely would even if attached to an extremity like a hand or foot. Back when you used to be able to buy explosive rounds as a civilian, you'd see lots of stories of hunters hitting an animal in an extremity and, if the round exploded (they didn't go off very reliably in soft targets, had to squarely hit a bone to set off he primer for the charge,) it would kill animals as large as coyotes and wolves just from the effect of the hydrostatic shock and internal bleeding. Those weren't even high explosive, either, just gunpowder in the cavity in the bullet and a primer on the nose, so they didn't have the pressure wave that C4 and other high explosives create. May have just been hunters' tall tails about those bullets, though, but regardless, one ounce of C4 directly attached to a person, even one as large as RRP, is almost guaranteed to be fatal...

    No joke, Randall Frakes, the guy listed at 2:06 as co-creatting the story with the director is my older cousin. He was friends with James Cameron when Cameron was working for Coreman, and Cameron wrote Terminator on his floor before Cameron had a place to live. He has a credit in Aliens under sound mixing and told me about how the Queen's whipping tail was made with a belt, and he contributed to the screeching sound of the chestburster coming out of the woman. He also was the one to get my parents to let me watch Aliens as my first R rated movie. Um sure he wasn't biased at all lol

He also played roles in some bigger budget movies including Conan's father in the original Conan the Barbarian, the leader of the Spetsnaz company in the original Red Dawn, and the bare knuckle boxer Eastwood faces at the end of Any Which Way You Can.

And the fact, that Steve Wang only needed 12 thousand dollars to make these amazing effects that still looks good while the guys spend 25 million dollars to get rid of Superman's mustache in "Justice League" and make him look like a PS2 character, speaks loudly for practical effects. If I would make horror- or science-fiction-movies, I would definitely would make my effects myself. And they would be 100 percently be practical, so I would found my own special-effects-studio.

    Just saw In Search of Darkness: Part 2, it was awesome seeing you in that one, Brandon! =D Also, I really hope you're gonna review Immortal Combat someday, that one is actually a fun movie, not only do you have Roddy Piper but you also have Sonny Chiba and Meg Foster in it! And a very young Chris Jericho in a fast cameo as a henceman =)

    Hey Brandon!
    I DARE YOU....to review Rollergator. I first learned about the movie when Rifftrax riffed it. It's batshit insane, so it should make for a great review!

    Pretty sure William Smith's death trying to shoot Sam as he walked away was a homage to Smith's death in Rich Man Poor Man book 2

    The outro music is always fun, but hearing it sped up is even better.

    I'm shocked you didn't mention William Smith. Apart from anything else, he starred in Andy Sidaris' 2nd film, "SEVEN", which featured a scene swiped by "RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK".

    i remember when Allison Pregler, still going by Obscurus Lupa at the time, had to take down her reviews of the Frogtown movies
    she replaced the footage with poorly done MSPaint art and, honestly, i thought it was a massive improvement!
    it just added to the surreal nature of the entire experiance
    i never understood why the take down was issued - i actively sought out these movies after her glowing review - i had never heard of them before her review

    There hasn't been this much ham in a frog since Miss Piggy pegged Kermit.

    This movie is a guilty pleasure for me. It's like Mad Max meets Killer Klowns from Outer Space. It doesn't take itself seriously and it's a joy to watch for it's silliness. I got a huge chuckle out of this one considering it had one of my favorite wrestlers from the 80's and two actors from Conan the Barbarian in it whom I admire a lot. The frog makeup was pretty cool for a low budget movie and they were hilarious.

    Definitely one of my favourite late night TV classics. Good mix of hammy acting and action. The cast look like they actually had fun making it.

    Also please review They Live and Ice Pirates. I know you've got a busy schedule but there's a lot of material in both movies to work with.
    Edit also Deathstalker 2, a sequel and a Jim Winorsky film.

    Greatly appreciate your work man! Binged your stuff and and I enjoy seeing videos I'd pass by growing up. Was wondering if anyone knows what the song at the end of his videos is called? Google can't seem to identify it.
    Update: Mathew Bailey, Proctor.

    I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. Roddy Piper is always enjoyable to watch. It's wild. Can't say the same about Return to Frogtown. They changed so much that I don't know why they kept Sam Hell and Spangle as the main characters.
