In fairness to other Americans, this guy was asking typical Floridians. I live near Buffalo, NY and easily answered these questions. Love the content guys, keep it up!
Floridians are actually quite nice and normal, but you probably don't know any actual Floridians. The vast majority of people here in Florida are transplants, often from New York.
One of the many reasons Florida gets a bad rap is because if you notice usually people are interviewed on beaches, which are full of tourists AKA a sampling of morons from the other 49 states and from all around the world
@Trevon Womack I agree it is not only people who have been to a given country that know about it. I was only trying to say that people with more access that live closer would have a stronger shot of knowing more. I have never been to Japan for example but am interested in the culture. Not an expert but have learned some and might be able to answer some questions.
You guys should react to Rick Mercer’s Talking To Americans. The 2000 special. It’s classic and hilarious. I love that he never actually says anything disrespectful. He just lets people speak for themselves. It’s wild though. Manger poutine!
Hey now, you have beautiful beaches...and, there's no sharks, jelly fish, or gators! I am fascinated with Canada, namely the landscapes, lakes, and nature. One day you'll have to show us around your hood and/or your best local spots of interest.
Remember a lot of Americans don’t have a passport, because our country is the size of Europe. The US is so diverse in climate, and culture. There’s really no need to have one unless you really want to go somewhere.
I'm a bit late to the game but many Americans don't have passports because we can visit so many different types of places without one. The US is one of the unique places in the world that has deserts, mountains, forests, swamps, tropical islands as well as areas to skii, surf, relax on a beach or visit amusement parks. Not to mention the gambling/vices of Vegas. All without the need to go through customs or exchange currency. With that being said, I do have a passport because traveling internationally is great (and makes a great backup ID if something happens to my drivers license).

It wouldn't have been entertaining for the interviewer to show Americans answering questions correctly. And Florida is the turd hanging off of the rear end of the country.
The USA is huge. Lots of different landscapes, etc to visit. No passport necessary to travel to very different places. We didn't used to need passports to visit Mexico and Canada. Times have changed. Also, the US is far away from many countries making it expensive to travel. Finally, more Americans have passports now...about 40%.
Hey Tyler! No they haven’t - we’ve just been trying to spread the love to some more of our subs that haven’t gotten a request yet . But we got your requests and we will get to them soon :) thanks for all your support bud!
I think part of the reason most of us don't have passports is that generally we'll travel to things in other states. For me, living in Washington our enhanced driver's license let's us cross into Canada by car and boat without a passport.
Got them all But I grew up 3 hours from the Detroit/Windsor crossing. Ohio for the win... :) Funny story I was going to college in southern ohio (1992) and it was April. While there are a LOT of Americans who know very little about Canada, you know that the point of the video is to emphasize ignorance. Someone who could answer most questions wouldn't have made the video.
You used to not need a passport to go from the US to Canada and vice versa - I went a few times in high school and college and all we needed was a driver's license. That was back in the 80's and early 90's though - I know now you need something provided at the federal level like a passport or passport card, but that may explain why some Americans don't have a passport. That and the fact that we have such a huge variety of landscape, culture, and history here that some don't feel a need to travel outside the country (although I disagree with this and love to travel to other countries, I think that is definitely a factor in many people's thinking).
They should ask regular homebred Americans the U.S. citizenship test questions; very basic 5th grade questions, and most probably wouldn't even know half of those; probably including me. We're too busy playing junk food and eating video games..and getting high
