      I'm pinning this comment due to the owner of this company (Bill) reaching out to me. I was highly impressed after our conversation and that was awesome of him to reach out.

      Well I truly appreciate you taking the time to find this video and respond the way you did! That says a lot about your company! I'm glad you found my "honest" review as just that. The cabinets are very well made (especially for the price) and customer service has been top notch. If the hardware had been correct this would have been a flawless experience. With that said, things happen and mistakes can be made. That's why I still feel I would purchase your products again in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

    Lily Ann - A US / Michigan based company.
    - Your assembly site a big key to the ease of assembly; elevated assembly, soft work surface, lights, and tools close by. I would have used a small brush to even out the glue into the grooves, my suggestion not criticism.

    I took a tour of a place where hardware packs were being assembled. The folks packaging the items were blind. Each worker had a pile of screws, bolts , or nuts. First person placed the item in the box into the hardware pack until an alarm would sound indicating there was enough of that item. Then they moved the package to the next person along the line. I have never again gotten upset if the hardware count was not correct. These nice folks are doing the best they know how to do.

    Those are beautiful cabinets. They will look so nice with the color you have chosen for the walls. I remember having new cabinets put in, my ex and his friend did them. We never realize until they went to hang the top cabinets that since the house was a prefab from the 50s that the studs ran completely opposite of how the cabinets we set up! Took some creative thinking but they got them up, and old cabinets went into the laundry room for an extra place to store canned goods!

    I have only used the Charlston and the York line of cabinets from Lilly ann but they are much easier than those to put together. The sides and back slide together with dovetail joints. No brackets except for 4 corner brackets underneath, the top corner braces are steel instead of plastic. The drawer guides are heavy duty and ride under the drawers and the drawers extend all the way out and have soft close. I don't know what the price difference is but I know they are still cheaper than the pre-built garbage in stocks at HD.

      @@decker377 I don’t know what you mean by much much harder. Half the stuff Andrew had to install already is installed on a barker cabinet when you get it. Plus any cabinet maker will tell you that 3/4 is the way to go. Having said that, they will cost me about 4k more. So def a trade off. I can’t fathom spending even 4.5k on cabinets and only one has the right hardware.

      The 1/2 does not bother me since it's plywood. As for the hardware, take that as you heard it. The cabinets were a great deal, but some things did suffer.

    Chances are the hardware packs are machine filled in China. They probably weigh them for QC. Evadently they need to tighten up the range. Good job, I could do it but some would never have the patience.

      @@TKCL best joint you can buy or make no hands down. So much glue area. When you get finished with the house you and Tiffany go to antique stores and look how the old furniture was made 99% will have dove tail joints that were hand made and they are still as strong today as yesterday. They have jigs now days that make them rather quickly. I know this shoulds crazy but on a rainy day when I'm stuck in the house I have several times gone into the shop and found some scrap wood and played around making them by hand.its not easy at all but super fun!!!! Look for them when you buy furniture and or cabinets it's the mark of a good piece!!

    Most, if not all, of lily ann cabinets that are painted are an engineered door and drawer front. It's basically MDF.
    AND, some stained door styles are solid wood stiles and rails, but MDF panel that has been veenered...

    While I know leaving this comment here means it is too late for your cabinets, but for anyone watching this and planning to buy and assemble their cabinets like this, please note that it may be worth the time to tape a razor blade and scrape away the finish from the face frames prior to adding wood glue and attaching the side panels. A lot of wood glue's strength comes from being able to soak into the wood grain and with finish already applies, the bond will be weaker.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 роки тому +1

      Every piece that was glued was rough wood to rough wood. I don't remember any glued edges being finished wood.
