i upgraded from a DDJSX2 to FLX10. The sx2 definitely gets the job done but holy smokes , the upgrade to the flx10 on the sound output if you have 320kbps quality is a massive difference!
Hi Phil... This is great for Virtual DJ with the Stems option! No longer need to swap eq/stem mode! As for the stems, maybe in the future they will have an update to save a metadata for the stems 'cause if it has to reanalysed each time the tracks for stems.... Not sure about this! Might have lag input with the software if you are in a hot environment, 3 decks mixing with effects and all...
as of now it's not mapped to VDJ, but I'm wondering why it makes you reanalyze your stems files each time. I've analyzed all my tracks for stems for VDJ to use on my SDJ4000, and I don't have to reanalyze my tracks each time.

Would have preferred it standalone. 1800 price range. eventually there will be no Rekordbox and Serato. what self respecting wants to fork out for a new laptop, and a subscription. this is why Denon is still superior for me. i think i read that the Denon dj prime 4+ will have stem software added to the engine, so there's that as well.
The only thing I hate about the FLX10 is just that, it's not a stand alone unit. However, having all of the information on the jog wheels makes it ideal to use with the laptop away from the controller (albeit still connected). But, if they were to add an Nividia graphics card powerful enough to separate stems on the fly for a stand alone unit, the price of the unit will be that of the Opus or even higher.
hey phil,,am using seratodj..i plugged in the flx10 loaded both tracks but it still says not loaded..music plays,pads work but i cant see the waveform on the jogs..it says not loaded but tracks are loaded. what do i do
FLX10 : very good hardware , but poor stems in Rekordbox. IT would be nice that wecould build our own Stems in a open format with an external software and play prepared stems, but not live stems that can't be saved or improved. So i ordered a FLX10 to use it with VirtualDJ 2023 (they will map it for sure)
we tried it over the weekend, It works amazingly well. My friend was running Serato on his laptop, and I was running Rekordbox. Love this dual laptop option, and the fact that it runs so perfect with either software it totally worth the investment.
Hi, I'm Claudio from Italy, congratulations for your videos which are always very clear and inspiring, I wanted to ask you if you tried scratching on the pioneer flx10 and if you were happy with the jogwheels? because I bought it recently and the jogwheels have a sensitivity problem for scratching, in practice I am forced to apply more pressure than is needed to prevent the jogwheels from continuing to move forward and therefore making me lose the right point of the sample which I use for scratching. If I keep the pressure on the jogwheel too light, it doesn't stop when I would like to stop it or simply bring the sample back to the right point. I'll start by saying that I have always used pioneer without any problems and the last controller I used was the flx6 with which I was able to scratch perfectly without any problem... do you know if there are any tips or utilities that allow you to set the pressure on the jogwheels correctly? Having a DDJ RX (yes very old by now) I have the settings on the EQs at isolator. When spinning techno i often isolate the high hats from one track and the kick from another, which at isolator setting works quite well. For me it has almost the same effect as the stems. Do stems give something more as compared to this isolator setting? Thought about upgrading my RX and was in the market for the 1000. Is there any reason why I would pick up the FLX10 instead of a new 1000 (at €1350 from trustworthy sites)?

I think this controller is a mockery! A DDJ 1000 embellished... 600 euros more just to have the stems, which by the way I have heard the rekordbox ones and they are of very bad quality! Anything else? Ah yes the automix which is a scandal for a controller, if you want to automix and not DJ you just need a laptop you don't need a 1600 euro controller. In conclusion, a controller that adds almost nothing to the already excellent DDJ 1000, ah no that's right, it adds 600 euros to the list price.
If you were in a DDJ-200/400 etc this would be a worthy (and exciting) upgrade. I don’t get the sense that Pioneer is aiming this product at the DDJ-1000 user base, but for the mobile DJ, this looks to be a solid piece of equipment for the money/feature set.

Maybe they will, I think they just wanted to get it out there for now.

Yes, hold down Shift on the controller and press either of the arrow keys underneath the word "Page" (top right of pads on each deck).

Stems are not possible anytime soon in standalone on the fly use, and you would hate how much it'll cost if it was

Yeah, they do look good! Can't remember if they were the same on the 1000, I don't think so from memory though.
The black center should help hide excessive fingerprint blemishes from long-term use... This might have been an issue on my SX and SX2. 😁

You're right they will - it works out of the box with Serato too, who recently improved their already pretty good stems once more.
Does the 2nd bank keyboard effect work on serato ? I can’t seem to get it to work. Not sure if that’s only a rekordbox option.

It is always going to be down to getting used to it/personal taste. Steve, our scratch tutor, is happy using the FLX10 though.

Yes, it's easy, all the controls are in the Midi mapping section of the software.

Use the crossfader assign feature to turn the crossfader on/off and assign channels.

Stems are a whole new ball game, but if you're getting what you need for DJing techno with isolator EQs, then all good!

Make sure to upgrade to Serato 3.4, and also update the firmware on the FLX10 to 11. It's usually shipped with firmware version 10.

They sound about the same right now, ie not as good as the market leaders VDJ and Serato.
Stems seems like a bodge in Rekordbox instead of thought about properly. I'll stick with Serato thanks where its done properly.

Not sure, we don't have one here, but they are engineered very precisely, so I'd guess they'll make a new one for the FLX10.

Well, the reality is that stems needs a LOT of spec, period.
my 2014 desktop already has 32gb ram; my 2016 laptop has 16gb. Its 2023 now. That's by tech standards ancient stuff that's capable of running it.
