I’ve always wanted artists to release just vocals, instrumental without drums with and without vocals and slowed / reverb and sped up. Allowing no drums will be a game changer!
I've been having great luck with Virtual DJ's 2.0 Stems! I believe there's 2 quality options for Stems, maybe check that the higher quality (and higher GPU usage) option is selected?
As a Denon user, I'm gonna say I'm impressed! Looks great and packed with features so it's gonna be amazing but and this is a me thing, I could never go back to having a laptop plugged in to a device again. For me I've zero need of the laptop/pc for what I do, bedroom DJ only. 🤟
I agree however before everyone pats pioneer on the back there is the elephant in the room RB stems at present are not good certainly not on par with the arguable leaders VDJ and Serato at some point Engine DJ will do Stems also so the real battle is yet to commence but i’m here for it there needs to be standalone players with stems if the opus can do it that is a flex from pioneer for sure
Liking the fact that they added Stems, finally and i like the displays that have a more zoomed in option than the 1000. Also must admit i like the splitting a tune over decks 1&3 to use with stems which is cool. Nice controller for sure but it won't tempt me to upgrade from my 1000 because it still does not have Paddles for the effects. My next set up i want moving platters and paddles that work with Rekordbox.
A fun secret feature..... I have the STEMS in Serato mapped to Padfx2 when in this section, 1) the page Left Isolates the vocals only, press it again and drums in inst comes back to life 2) press the page right and it silences the vocals only, and press it again and vocals returns
This'll be my first controller set up...after 1210s & djm750 for 20 years! Don't even have to work out if serato or rekordbox is best; fx10 has both unlocked. I'm ready for STEM style 3-4 deck infinite option mixing 🤯😵💫😄
As a dj who started on turntables back in 90s I wasn't thrilled to go digital. I have DDJ 1000 which I like a lot. This new unit is awesome and I'm sure it will be useful to djs. But as for me...The ddj 1000 and laptop setup is as far as I want to go as a digital DJ. I still love turntables + mixer setup the most
Great review! Ngl I did get a big overwhelmed with all the new features, being a ddj-1000 rb owner, but it looks promising! Still wish they added a smooth echo fx button on here, but that’s probably just me 😅. Also, I love that they added the DMX output to this unit since I was planning on getting the rb-DMX 1,& the new display that can show 2 waveforms is brilliant!
Coming out of retirement, and having used a numark ns7fx, this controller does all the things I wish I had 15 years ago, a serious consideration for an upgrade

00:15:25 this is the only reason I haven’t made the switch to rekordbox from Traktor. With Traktor & serato you can beat jump before tracks start. With rekordbox you can’t and they made the mix point link. They could have just done the beat jump before track starts and problem solved.
I had a 1000 and was in love with it. This has just improved an already amazing controller. However, will this bring the second hand market price down 🧐 I’ve noticed second hand DDJ 400’s sell for the same as the FLX equivalent…
good to see that things started to evolve after Virtual DJ revolutionized the concept of live beats and arrangements, today the new controllers and also the software considered "famous" are having to get their asses off the couch and also copy the VDJ to not to be left behind, but speaking of controllers, this one is very good, as well as the opus-quad, both are products designed with parameters within the new concept founded by the Virtual DJ software.
I’m new to DJing and I own a DDJ Rev5, can I buy this FLX10 in place of club standard cos I can see that it has everything a club standard controller also has. Please let me know as I’m planning on it soon. Thank you. 😊
I really like to setup a DMX lighting with this Pioneer DDJ-FLX10. Would you please create a video to teach us how if you don't have one yet. Thanks in advance!
Excellent release from PioneerDJ! As for stems, Rekordbox stems are a joke compared to Serato (and I'm a RB user), but I hope that they fix that quite quickly.
36:01 I think the mix in / mix out majes sense in the way Pioneer DJ: Jordan Lee mixes his blends with accapella’s… but then you don’t need the pre made blends anymore but you can use Stems and mix in mix out to have your hands free for mixing and EQ’ing.
I feel like pioneer is creating a big emphasis on separating capabilities of controllers and CDJ/XDJ. They’re adding all these niche features to controllers that could be fun for a bedroom DJ to play around with or Rap DJ’s where stems will actually be useful but in a House or Techno club you will never see these new controllers get used. The adding the emphasis that controllers are for fun but clubs need to be professional and have CDJ’s.
maybe they'll come up with new CDJs with stems available? It would be a huge gamechanger for profesionnal DnB, house and Techno DJs to have the ability to use the stems.
Agree. Native Instruments tried to push STEMS into the professional space and it didn’t go anywhere. Professional DJs use Ableton to edit tracks live, not STEMS. It’s great for hobbyist DJs to have this sort of tech on controllers but I’d be amazed to see it on Pioneer CDJs / DJMs
Hi I just joined your house course and got inspired to purchase a better contoller I decided to go for the DDJ as the instructor has that oen and it looks amazing. Now on the waiting list for the 1000 they ask me if I want the FLX10 instead. But I am on a old mid 2012 macbook pro. How can I check if my computer can handle all the stem functionalities and all that comes with FLX10? Or does it matter should I just get the FLX10? Thanks! Love your content and your courses!
after pay the updgrade plan, and maybe 1 hour trying to follow a couple of tutorials (becouse there are not more...) im not able to make the MIX POINT LINK "buttom legend" blue, so i could not activate the MIX POINT LINK correctly. This is unbeliable....
Love you video content. I am thinking about purchasing this unit but I was wondering if you can do clean echo out or just echo out given this unit only has hardware effects and not software effects
How is the build quality compared to the FLX4 and 6? Does it use the same knobs and pads and so on like those two or you can actually feel this is a higher quality product?
Maybe a stupid question, but is it possible to play directly from a usb stick connected to the laptop running Rekordbox without importing its library, like if a friend came over and brought his usb stick?
The problem with Pioneer no one talks about. Their 2 FX slots each with 3 knobs in the software at the top of the screen.. an amazing 6 FX you could switch on and layer on the DDJ-RX/RZ series with the 6 knobs across the top: GONE. And I don't know of any current hardware that supports these software FX units. No idea why a huge section of their software functionality goes unsupported on hardware for years and no one says anything. I built a style of DJing around using those FX units and Pioneer turning their back on this part of their own software has chased me over to Denon for the moment.
I love how it looks and its functions. ( looks infinite better than the opus, that does not look good at all imo) the only change i hould do is that i hould keep the iconic concave holes and the 3 dots on the side of the jog wheels, im so used to that and its so Pioneer, i dont understand why do they change that on some controllers.
Crossfader, Very informative, I'm a new user of Pioneer FLX-10, I'm barely learning the features on this Dj controller, how do you exit out of pad mode, i hit shift and i can still hear some of the pad effects through the audio. Can you tell me which buttons or what i need to do to exit pad mode while Djing.
thank you for this Great review, can you please start providing measurements and dimensions of the controllers, so that we can take a decision on the size and performance and to make sure that the new controller will fit our bags and cases. thank you for this nice video, A+
Is this a good option for those who can’t afford CDJ’s? Like practicing on this at home and when it’s time to perform in clubs, you can be comfortable in playing their with CDJ’s.
Are these performance pads touch- or pressure-sensitives? Like, do you need to apply a lot of pressure (maybe a click) before the sound fires? I currently have the issue on my ddj RB that I cant fingerdrumm samples faster and wilder because i need to click..i dont know if there is a rb setting (pad sensitivity, latency) or sample setting i didnt do (right)🤔
I need to purchase a DJ controller for a beginner. Which make and model would you guys recommend for ease of use and capabilities. I won't be able to upgrade anytime in the future (one and done) purchase so if I need to buy a more expensive one and take lessons than that's what I'll do. Just thought I'd add that in to help with your suggestions. Thank you to everyone in advance, Charles.
Mix Point Link would/will be good for setting up a playllist you wan't to just put in Automix and chill i reckon, thats if when running Automix it uses your Mix Points to actually mix, other than that yeah its meh.

Thanks mate
Great video…thank you! I’ve asked Pioneer in the past, but why can’t we bounce around within a loop with cue points in Rekordbox? You can in Serato…just part of the way I like to mix. Take care
I've got mine on order from The Disc DJ Store in Bradford, can't wait for the 11th! But out of curiosity, can you sample a stem? Take a vocal piece and save it as a "stemmed" sample? Or use stems on an original sample? For the last part, I suppose you'd load the sample on a spare deck and use it as track, but that's using a deck.
Love your reviews all the time. Very thorough as expected. The one thing I didn’t hear, the soundcard. Is it upgraded from the prior 1000, anywhere near the more pro mixers?
The official word I got form Pioneer DJ is that the soundcards have been updated from the predecessors, but I didn't get specifics on the soundcard used and whether its the new ESS technology ones they have just put in the A9 and Opus Quad.

The only thing I’m missing is a time knob in the beat fx section
I've got mine on order from The Disc DJ Store in Bradford, can't wait for the 11th!
But out of curiosity, can you sample a stem? Take a vocal piece and save it as a "stemmed" sample? Or use stems on an original sample? For the last part, I suppose you'd load the sample on a spare deck and use it as track, but that's using a deck.
Does Rekordbox or Serato come with the purchase of the DDJFLX10?
Hi do the Pads feel any different if u compare them with the DDJ1000s pads?
Love your reviews all the time. Very thorough as expected. The one thing I didn’t hear, the soundcard. Is it upgraded from the prior 1000, anywhere near the more pro mixers?
The official word I got form Pioneer DJ is that the soundcards have been updated from the predecessors, but I didn't get specifics on the soundcard used and whether its the new ESS technology ones they have just put in the A9 and Opus Quad.
