    I love the fact that the lume is not symmetrical - I could read this watch when it's on the table at night without holding it to see which way up it goes.

    That is a really interesting watch, and I love the case. Another unique piece from Phoibos.

    Man, nice watch! I have two of theirs: an orange Reef Master and a gray Apollo, and I'm wishing I held off buying them for this instead!

    Mike, the name of the geometric shapes of the indices at 12, 3, and 9 is trapezoid. 😉

    Really inspired by the old Tissot T12 supercompressor... specially that little second hand

    I can see a car tire. Very interesting watch. I wouldn't use one of these, but they are very interesting.

    I really like the look. It's technical and unique even nautical architecture. More later but the "triangles with the tops cut off" are Trapezoids. 🙂

    Beautiful design, absolutely nice and perfect accuracy movement, for me it’s a little too big for my wrist, but it’s definitely a stunning watch ! ✨👌

      Thanks Alain, the movement surprised me. I am annoyed with myself because in the description on Phoibos web site it says it has been regulated to be more accurate. A complaint I have had with Phoibos in the past is NH35 movements looking poor on the timegrapher. They are in specification with Seiko but can easily be improved. I think perhaps Phoibos took this criticism onboard and acted on it. Phoibos often do this when reading feedback from reviewers and in the comments of videos.

    Got the green one coming tomorrow and can not wait. Thanks for the review - helped confirm my thoughts. What is your wrist size incidentally?
    Mine are 7.25" which seems to be a happy medium. Hopefully I'll find the goldilocks size too 👍.
    Loving the fact it's quite unique innovative design. Started to realise my watches were becoming very monotone diver ( think Tudor BB, Rolex sub ) influenced. Nothing wrong with that but I recently passed 40 pieces having only started mid-22!!. Ah the joys of Chinese photocopiers.
    Anyway, this looks like an appealing ( to me) outside the box design . Thumbs up 👍

    Any idea if it's possible to swap the crowns ? Certainly resolve what I'm seeing is the main sticking point

    To reprise what I said last time (I think). Overall, I like the design and more power to Phoibos for trying new things, long may they continue. I love the Sellita, it looks like a great little movement in this. I'm pleased I guessed right about the soft iron insert (its how Bremont add that layer of antimagnetism in their watches). Lastly, I think the biggest turn off for me is the crowns, now you've highlighted the lack of knurling, I think its too much of a case of form over function for me.

    The watch is large.The shape of the case and crowns are interesting. The inner bezel is also not bad. However, the size of the crowns can cause inconvenience when wearing.

      Yes I agree with the points you raise. I like the crowns and that they are different but they are just that little bit too big.

    Wow that's one heck of a lump. Make sure you wrap it well before posting it to my home address. I don't want it breaking the floor tiles when it comes through my letterbox !

      I dont think there is enough room between the existing holes to punch a new one.

    Nice! Yet, is there any way to order a modified Phoibos Vortex watch with different minute / hour hands? They ruined it with these surplus hands! I would have designed a uniquely elongated hand with a gunner + site, able to align inwards + outwards, both at the second tick marks and outwards at the dial marks; it would have been both integrated / unconventional. Or at the very least; the minute hand should have been elongated to be notched on the inside middle, revealing the tick markings if they line up well enough... Just an FYI, my 2 cents worth.. CT

    • @MyRetroWatches
      @MyRetroWatches  Рік тому +1

      They don’t modify unfortunately. You would have to find suitable hands to fit the movement

    Way too large for my 6.6 wrist. And the design isn't my cup of tea either. That said, still glad they are not going the easy route and just copy a Rolex Submariner like so many other microbrands do.

    Hello from Canada🤘
    I just saw your video on your very unique collection of Vintage LED watches. Just today I found my father's old Longines Wittnauer- Polara Red LED 14k watch. It's slightly resembles the First Watch in your video . I remember it sitting in my kitchen junk drawer for decades growing up. No strap, as to my recollection it's never had one , but it works, and the Wittnauer logo is fully visible with a tiny scratch below it. Slight amount of sentimental attachment so it's not for sale, but a game of tradesies between two watch enthusiasts would have flown with my father. I'm about to binge watch all your content so thanks for that either way. Let me know if you're curiosity is peaked.👍🏻👍🏻ps. How do I get pin bars that are only 10mm-ish wide for it?

    • @MyRetroWatches
      @MyRetroWatches  Рік тому

      I have plenty of LED already so I am not looking for any more. the chances are its still a spring bar holding the bracelet on so purchase a spring bar tool and you should be able to release them.
