2:00 Best answer LOL
the answer is it doesnt matter. just saved you 2 min and 46 seconds
Thanku
Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you
❤️👍🌹
This is really kinda funny but interesting! I like flossing first because I think it gets food and tarter loosened for brushing it away. Doctors often disagree about other health issues as well.
I floss first, then brush, and finish with mouth wash. Always have compliment from my dentist!
Dr. Nemeth, my man. Thanks for not looking down on those of us that struggle. Love this, was looking for answers, and recieved compassion.
What about brush, then floss and then brush again! 😂
yep, that is what I do, because I am kind of disgusted what is till between my teeth when I floss. So I brush again, so that the toothpaste can get in the areas that I cleared with flossing. But I just bought a waterflosser, so I will be definitely flossing first and then brushing my teeth.
Yes, like crossing the road lol.
I mean... you should only be brushing twice a day. Hydrogen peroxide? Yea toothpaste contains hydrogen peroxide.
Oh ya- BFB baby!!!
This is exactly what I do
I loved everyone's answers. Especially Dr. Nemeth's point about procrastination! Such a good channel!
Floss, brush, mouthwash. The reason I floss first is because the gunk in between the teeth and gums contains bacteria and often has an odor and seems silly to bring that into a freshly brushed mouth. Plus, when you break up debris with floss your brush and the toothpaste can get to more of the tooth.
Foods between teeth is in the way of brushing. I floss first.
Step1: 2 times - Gargle by swishing water for atleast 15 secs each time
Step 2: Brush your teeth
Step 3: Floss
Step 4: Use mouthwash for any nooks unreachable by brush or floss
P.S. Never brush your teeth immediately after your meal. Wait for atleast 30 mins.
This right here is the hidden gem!
Yes! That advice in that order is pure gold! Thanks for sharing!
You should also add brushing tongue. Ideally you should not rinse after brushing teeth, just spit. This way the fluoride is on your teeth protecting overnight. Yes you can argue using a mouthwash containing fluoride except that toothpaste has 3x the fluoride of any mouthwash. If you want to be extra thorough use an interdental pick and then some sort of gum massager like the Sulcabrush. I personally floss before brushing because you can floss right after eating vs you should wait 30 minutes to brush. Also, in my mind, if you remove debris in between teeth, the fluoride from brushing will get in between teeth better. I suppose there is an argument for before and after.
Using mouthwash means the order doesn't matter because you're spitting out liquid after everything. But that also unfortunately gets rid of the flouride from the paste. I'm still not convinced that brushing before flossing is better... saving the brushing for last means you get to spit out the debris from both flossing and brushing, while brushing first means the debris loosened by flossing is just left there in your mouth. Floss-firsters ftw
@@Onigirli I think there is an argument for both ways. I also floss first but I can see how possibly brushing would push some particles back in between the teeth.
Boom! You ask a question and you get answers! I like it.
I've read an article about this that there was a research conducted and actually it doesn't matter what you do first. It may be a little bit more effective when you do flossing first, but the profit will not be huge. So, summing up, it doesn't matter ;)
I floss first. If I bruished first, I'd never get to flossing because it takes more effort to do it. So I have to do it first!
I brush first because I feel like brushing removes all of the accesible dirt. That way, you then go ahead and remove the dirt IN BETWEEN the gaps of your teeth without worrying about pushing the dirt farther in (if you did it beforehand).
Joseph is the G.O.A.T.
I just brushed then flossed and brushed again then used mouth wash
Excellent video.
I agree with what the last dentist said. I was told to floss first. It’s definitely the heavy work, then I brush. I feel like my mouth is much fresher and to be honest I’m addicted to flossing now because of that routine. Flossing is a must!!😬
Everybody in that vid: Falsing or Brushing
Me: What about Mouth Wash?
I think it's important to vote.
I’m personally in the floss first camp, but I wasn’t always… I used to follow the more standard brush-then-floss regimen, but after experimenting over the years I found that flossing before brushing delivers better results and ultimately just makes more sense to me, tho I will sometimes do an initial “rough” brush just to clear the surface gunk before flossing with an expanding floss like Dr. Tung’s, and end with brushing. Sometimes I rinse with mouthwash after flossing (but before brushing, so as not to wash off the toothpaste), lol and if I’m really feeling extra (or extra icky 🙊) I’ll cap it all off with a second round of flossing with a finer/more traditional waxed floss 😝🪥🦷🥶
What I do is string floss first, then I brush, then when I spit the toothpaste out i water floss with some of the toothpaste still in my mouth, then I tongue brush/scrape. Then I mouth rinse and then for the final touch I use a gum stimulator
Brush first, interdental cleaning second (i say interdental cleaning because in my professional opinion interdental BRUSHES are way beter in romoving plaque/debris than floss is but that's another story): the mouth is a space filled with a gazillion bacteria. Correlations (and more) have been shown between oral health and systemic health/disease. The mouth, next to bacteria, is also invaded by bloodvessels. very, very easily can bacteria enter the bloodstream. You want to prevent this. By brushing first you, reduce the amount of bacteria by removing plaque etc from the bigger surfaces. With interdental cleaning there is a chance of actually impacting stuff, bacteria etc inbetween. Next to that, bleeding occurs more often during inbetween brushing than on the outer surfaces. The less bacteria you have in your mouth (after normal brushing first), the smaller the chance is of bacteria invading bloodvessels during interdental cleaning when bleeding occurs more often. I hope you get my point (i'm from Holland). So to summarize: i think you want to decrease bacteria in your mouth first with brushing and than the chances of bacteria entering your bloodverssels is smalling by number but also because intedental cleaaning can "open up" vessels cause a lot of people dont have very healthy gums (in between). Maybe this is nonsense but i think this is true...
I'm definitely a huge proponent for interdental brushes. They do an excellent job at cleaning between the teeth!
I vote for the Dutch guy, but then I holiday in Sint Maarten so I may be biased.
I think most people learn brush then floss because it's habit stacking, basically adding tasks together from easy to harder because it'll hopefully become a habit.
I normally brush, next floss, then mouthwash, but I was slightly confused. I guess it doesn't matter the order you do it.
I use a waterpik to get all the big stuff out of the way then brush, then floss.
This is how I do it as well. I can see how manual flossing before brushing could be good to push the toothpaste further into the gums but I can still get the same result (but better) by dipping my floss in toothpaste.
Wow this is so interesting. I didnt know people flossed first.
I am a procrastinator but I do believe that if you floss and get all the stuff out first then the brush can just take it away with the other scraps. I think if you brush and then floss then you will just dirty your teeth again with the stuff thats stuck between your teeth.
Is it okay to floss right away after eating? Thank you, for whoever would reply in my question.
Floss first so the tooth paste can get in between your teeth easier. I think that would make more sense.
...then water pic. I forgot about that. Thank you.
I used to brush first then floss but after hearing my dentist say that I should floss then brush, I have been doing that. However, I will definitely be changing back to brushing then flossing. My mouth feels much cleaner after
Water floss, brush, string floss, antiseptic mouthwash, fluoride mouthwash. Everybody's happy. You're also late for work.
I floss first because brushing afterwards helps massage the gums which might have been hurt with using floss.
How about waterpik first and then brush your teeth?.
The guy at the end was my favorite
ok weird question but i floss like one or two hours before i brush and then brush beofre i sleep but dont eat anything just do work or watch videos ,is this fine?
I floss first
I have thought about this process.
A) I think I'd say.. Floss at Night, then RINSE.
( Not just a breath freshening rinse.... I think it should be a fluoride anti-cavity Rinse)
B) BRUSH in the Morning.
Preferably with my Sonic toothbrush.
Thats stupid as hell
@@Dustin34 Why? floss before bed ensures no food sitting between teeth while sleeping and brushing before eating in the morning is ideal, as you shouldn't brush after eating.
ya I usually brush one week and floss the other I agree with them
Floss first then help the bristles get in between the teeth when brushing
what if im using Waterpik and not floss .
Floss brush and waterpik? Wow so much work haha
I floss first, brush, then mouthwash, then tongue brush.
I watch UA-cam videos at 2am
Why tongue brush?
@@livingalone5737 Because you have bacteria from eating on your tongue - which causes bad breath as well, you get a tongue brush at walmart.
My china grandma love to tongue brush :)
Personally ive always flossed first but I didnt think it mattered. It seems to be pretty mixed depending on the person but it makes more sense to floss first to remove anything thats stuck in tight spaces in teeth so then toothpaste can clean inbetween those areas better
Since there’s no correct way I’ll stick to what works for me . Waterpik, brush then string floss.
I know to not brush after eat but can i floss after eat?
What I do is use mouthwash first. Give it a good swish around then gargle and then expel it. Then I do a quickish floss before using Piksters. The reason for both is I find it gives a more efficient in between clean. And why first? Because I can get rid of some of the gunk in between my teeth thus allowing more of that part of the tooth surface to be bathed in toothpaste, when I brush. Also it means you're not getting fine food particles in your toothbrush and literally scraping that over your tooth surface when you brush. Meaning a lot less wear and tear on your tooth enamel. And a lot less wear and tear on your toothbrush. And it just feels cleaner that way.... 😁
Thanks for sharing your routine Fiona! Definitely less abrasion that way.
Imagine brushing your teeth before you floss.
This post was made by floss 1st gang 🔥💯
ikr who even does that smh my head 😓😓😩
I brush first so any food debris that’s pushed in between teeth can be then flossed out, and then use mouthwash as a final touch
Did this get solved?
Floss first then brush. You don’t want to floss the fluoride off that you just applied !
Floss first to break up all the crap from in between teeth and then brush to get everything off of the teeth and then rinse to wash it all off. Pro tip: You can follow it up with a tongue scrapper and then cap it all off with some nice mouthwash.
Because the gums are less sensitive after brushing
Rinse first then floss then brush.
I've always brushed teeth, then brush tongue, then floss, then brush teeth.... idk I'm odc when cleaning the mouth.
I floss brush and floss again then a final brush
So what's the better answer :,(
For me: Floss, interdental brush, tongue scrape, rinse, brush
Mouthwash only during the day 🤷🏻♀️
Excellent!
I agree I'm the same
What
Recommendations for all adults, but one should learn how to do it properly...
Yes that is why I brush before floss too because I don’t want to bring more debris into the gaps.
I floss mouthwash brush and then tounge cleaning
Here is the CORRECT METHOD... You brush first then floss then use a waterpik with hydrogen peroxide diluted to 1%. Dr. Nemeth would agree. I got your back Doctor!
Floss then brush because if u brush first then floss ur only put germs back on to ur teeth food particles
I have found that many people simply cannot floss effectively or they cannot floss without damaging the inter dental papillae. For the past 12 years my hygienist and I have been advising and teaching our patients how to use Softpiks. The dramatic improvement in our patients" gum health has been consistent and patients find this to be much easier than flossing.
Edward Dergosits just learn how to floss it's not rocket science
@@austi16 people already don't want to do it, so you need to make it as easy as possible
ineedhoez special need people yes
@@austi16 Apparently that is not true after watching so many patients for the past 38 years.
Lol what a chode
Floss first because when I floss, I tend to get a lot of saliva dripping down and have to spit out which feels like if I did it after brushing that would defeat the purpose of brushing
Brush, don’t spit out toothpaste, then floss with mouth full of foam, then water pick the rest of the way. Messy but I haven’t had any problems and very minimal cleaning for almost 20 years
I brush and then floss and then brush again and then interdental brushes and brush again and then rinse with anti cavity mouthwash
I floss before brushing then I use listerine.
This question might be actually older than that one about an egg and a chicken. 😆
In the morning i do floss first, then brush, then mouthwash. In the evening i do brush first then floss.
Brush,rinse,floss,rinse,brush,rinse,rinse.
Brush, floss, mouthwash. Not trying to get the bacteria back into my open gums.
This is so obviously really now ?
which came first, the chicken or the egg
Floss/waterpik first because it’ll loosen up some of the food that’s in between your teeth. Then brush. Then mouthwash. Do not rinse your mouth with water after you brush!
I use waterpik first, then brush, and I keep floss in front of my computer so that I don't get bored when I'm flossing my teeth with dental floss.
So... Was there an answer?
I brush then floss & water pik then Listerine total care swish for 1 min.7 spit out dont rinse..
I've always done this routine e:
1. The first thing I do is swish with salt water. ( I dont know why, I just do😂)
2. Secondly , I floss with my WaterPik.
3. Then I brush for at least two minutes.
4. Next I do one last mouth rinse
5. Finally, I give my hubby a big 💋 ❤
If you brush first you’ll have food and plaque on your clean teeth and floating around your mouth when you floss. And if you rinse you’ll be rinsing all the fluoride out your mouth. So floss, rinse, then brush.
Easy. Floss once per month and brush once per week. It doesn't matter which you do first.
Easy peasy
The order doesn't really matter especially if you do both daily.
Floss then brush .. Waterpik
I thought you were supposed to floss first to get out the food stuck between your teeth so that when you brush, you wash all the gunk out.
For me Brush, floss, rinse with water then mouthwash
Why was that so funny to me
I floss then brush 😂
I'm having a hard time and I need support and do I water floss first or brush first
1 brush
2 floss
3 mouthwash / oil pull
Brush, Floss, then Mouthwash
I don’t fancy flossing first erk...
floss first to build habit.
It seems like flossing should be first to get that meat out then brush where the meat was to clean it all out.
1:36-1:56 is the most important part.
Quick brush, quick floss, quick brush. Twice a day. Dont overthink it people.
Floss, mouthwash really good around your mouth , then Brush throughly around Your Teeth 🦷
U guys got it all wrong, its floss brush then mouth wash
I brush, floss, brush.
Joseph R Nemeth DDS & Associates I usually brush for 1 minute, floss, then brush again for another minute. (I use music to keep track of time) but I do my best to remember to brush softly! I’ve been doing my best to take care of my teeth since they hurt with stuff(my dentist don’t believe me though) so yeah! I realized I need to floss more slowly too when going between my teeth.
Floss, brush, waterpik floss in that order ✔️
Your rinsing the fluoride out of your mouth...
@@grumpylucas you don't need fluoride
@@CivilWarz keep telling yourself that. Lol allegedly the fluoride ion aids in rebuilding enamel. I'm not a scientist or a dentist. I'm not a conspiracy theorist either. Just following the advice of my dentist.
@@grumpylucas yeah just do what your dentist tells you to do, don't do any of your research, just like people who wear masks listen to the CDC like nice little sheep
@@CivilWarz How much dental school have attended?
i tried flossing first , but then ive noticed that my gum gets puffy a little bit ,and that bothers me
but when i brush first , its perfect
so thats my routine heheheheh
